Stiletto Moody, hot mess…

Stiletto Moody gave group members a free pair of Stiletto Moody Bare Lana in Red to celebrate the brand’s anniversary. For various reasons, I haven’t ever bought a pair of SM shoes (with or without feet). I am usually pretty good with tinting feet — and I own a lot of shoes from different brands in SL with them. I don’t understand why a pair of shoes that costs well over $2,000L does not include a HUD but a rather primitive drop-down menu. Really SM, you can’t make a HUD? It would make the tinting process  SO much more pleasant. Other brands have them… Maitreya, SLink, even N-Core!

Anyways.. these shoes are FREE, so you know, like everybody else I’m curious to see what all the fuss is about.

All the photos taken below have NOT been post-processed — this is what a pair of Stiletto Moody Bare looks like to me:

1. Straight out of the box — my skin doesn’t match and the ankle strap doesn’t fit into the shoe.

2. I tried fixing my skin color via the ‘ControlFreak’ option and inputting my RGB — uh-oh my feet are PURPLE. So obviously I’ll have do it using the R,G,B drop-down menu which I hate. How am I suppose to know if I need to plus or minus more Green, Red or Blue? I’m a visual person, give me a HUD!

3. 10 minutes later, I’ve matched my skin as best as I could and fixed the fitting issue on the ankle strap.

4. Worn with my AO

Now that I’m satisfied with this, I hop off my pose stand and test the shoes out in-world with my AO. And it looks like crap….. hello hot mess. Looks good if you are posing but not so great when you want to wear it in-world.

5. Is this what you paid $2,000L for? (or however much these costs, I don’t know the exact price)

Would I buy a pair of Stiletto Moody? NO — not with the ankle strap issue. The foot isn’t that nice either with all those heavy shadows but it’s probably something I could live with.. but not for the price tag or the ill-fitted prims.

I know there are die-hard Moody fans out there, so enjoy your shoes! :)

  1. Well said! You can purchase an sl home for less then they sell they’re shoes for!

  2. I can appreciate that these shoes were free, but they are horrible looking when you wear them! I don’t understand how people can pay so much lindens for such horrible shoe designs when there are other shoe stores out there that are much cheaper and better designs!

  3. Yeah i have the same problems. They are really nice, i won’t complain they were Free, but they do not want to make me buy more shoes there. I have seen other designers selling prim feet shoes attaching to the lower leg (and the invisiprim seperatly at the foot) so when the foot moves the shoes stay the same position. Might look rather odd to have a static foot, BUT the ankles fit much better.

  4. Because you have no agenda when it comes to Stiletto Moody, do you. Didn’t they try to sue you when you stole their shoe shapes?

    • Thanks for telling it like it is Gogo. SM was good back in her day, I remember how packed her store was back in August 08′ summer sale, couldn’t get in for weeks. 2 and a half years later, SL has come a long way but SM is still stagnant. SM can’t even hold a candle to places like Maitreya and Sim-ilar.

Plus their a little bit cartoonish for my taste. :(
The price tag just pisses me off though.

  5. @Jaansika – I’ve never called any commenter on this site an idiot but you can be the first. YOU ARE AN IDIOT. Stiletto Moody never tried to sue me — by me, I mean “Juicy Shoes”. Here’s a brief history lesson for you, since you’re CLUELESS:

When the Stiletto Moody brand launched, their shoes were created by — *gasp* not Stiletto Moody herself — but by Sasawe Capalini and Photon Pink. Why don’t you rez a pair of the 1st pumps (if you have it) and check the creator of the prims.

SM was pretty upset when I blogged about that, but as far as trying to sue ME or Juicy Shoes for anything (if there’s anything to sue about) – that’s completely false. So take your idiocy elsewhere.

I don’t know who makes her shoes now, but the prims are all created by “Stiletto Moody”.

Go ahead, ask Stiletto Moody what that’s all about OK?

  6. AND PS. I have no agenda — I’m just reporting what people with 2 eyes can clearly see. Again, you’re an IDIOT.

  7. I have in the past bought 4 pairs of moody’s. However I will not buy anymore. They screwed a friend of mine around. They charge way to much, mainly cause she outsources the work and has to pay them. Too many others in SL that make shoes of a higher and nicer quality at affordable prices. Thanks GoGo for the review on these. I’m glad I didn’t rush to get them.

  8. Stiletto Moody-ism a religion or what? No one is allowed to say anything without beeing atacket by insulted belivers? Those shoes are just expensive products, and its the job of a fashion blogger to report about quality, and not to praise, when there are things so obviously going wrong. In the normal world (RL), no one would attack a fashion journalist for saying the objective truth. But this is SL where some think that bloggers are only the favourable water carriers of people who build stuff and call themself designers.

  9. I had the same problem with the ankle overflow when wearing my AO, Gogo. Maybe there is some way to fix it, but if I had bought that pair of shoes for 2-3k, I would be very upset. If I pay that much for a pair of shoes, I don’t really want to have to do a whole lot of tweaking.

I sort of feel like maybe this was a design that didn’t work out quite right, so SM decided to pass them out as a gift. And it is nice to give a gift to the group…very nice, I am not complaining about anyone giving a gift, before someone jumps down my throat about that.

However…I don’t think this particular pair of shoes protrays the SM brand in the best light. I have another pair of the sandals (part of the Bare line, but I can’t remember the name right now) and they fit much better. Based on this pair, however, I would not go out and buy my FIRST pair of SMs. But since it was a group gift and she closed the group (with the exception of the one day) she was perhaps expecting only people who were already familiar with the brand to get this pair.
Still…I don’t think it is a glowing advertisement for Stiletto Moody.

  10. I used to be a Moody fan but since Maitreya have started doing the bare foot shoes I’ve never worn my SM’s. I do still wear the boots and pumps but not the bare foot ones anymore. The designs are just getting worse all the time and the prices seem to be going up too even though the shoes have not been decently updated ie the HUD etc.
The skin matching system is a complete NIGHTMARE and so outdated.

  11. Gogo, with all due respect, you have always had issues with Stiletto Moody, and anyone with a relatively short memory span can not only remember them, but there are plenty of blogs out there that didn’t delete the record of these dramas from their archives.

In any case, you are entitled to your opinion, I do tend to wonder however, why you would take the time to go collect a free gift intended to thank customers of Stiletto Moody after 2 years of tremendous success in Second Life, seeing that your distaste for these shoes is well known.

I too do not retouch photos of the footwear I blog, ever, occassionaly I retouch the avatar glitches and pointy elbows, but for the sake of the readers of ‘On Your Toes’ and my own integrity, I have never retouched a shot of Stiletto Moody’s or anyone else’s footwear, and trust me I am not an illusionist.

Not everyone will get the same result I do when wearing these shoes, mine are always size medium, straight out of the box, no resizing of the ankle part, I simply raise it up a touch to suit my avatar’s height better. The skin match takes me all of 2 seconds using a back-up bag system that Stiletto has had for a while now that saves multiple favorite skin matches that can be uploaded to any pair of her foot-in-shoe styles.

I guess every pair of eyes can see what they want to see, if anyone cares to see my unretouched Moody Pics feel free to view them on my flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/anessastine/

    Enjoying My Moody’s,
    Anessa Stine.

  12. I agree, I bought a few pairs of Moody shoes and they are all ill fitting apart from one. Something so expensive shouldnt be so hard to fit, or, in my opinion, impossible to fit. The only place they look really pretty is on the shelf…
AMG Boudoir are also terrible to fit and incredibly expensive.

  13. I have SMs here and there and have always thought something was “off” about the toes. As perfect as they looked, they looked odd to me. Then Maitreya began making prim footed shoes and I realized how fake the SM feet seem to be. Maitreya totally has them beat. But if one is really determined to wear SMs the best advice is the fewer straps the better. Excellent post today, Gogo. I’m really liking all the candor I find here.

@Kess – What is up with your readers?!

  14. Way to stand up for yourself Gogo!
I couple months ago I decided to see what the fuss was about and dropped the L on some Moody’s. I’ve worn them only twice. What you reported were exactly the same issues I have with mine. Such a disappointment; they are so pretty to look at but to wear…a spendy disaster.

  15. Yeah i agree for the price tag a hud seems like it’s in order. I’ve had prim feet shoes with a RBG ++ kind of menu like you mentioned and it’s really not good. I don’t know what Blue++ is gonna look like? Cheaper shoes have a hud and are much easier to use so yeah i agree with you on that factor, i’d also not buy these shoes for that price.

  16. Gogo,
Can i get a Halleluja?! I’ve spent precious time I could’ve been shopping trying to match my Moody feet to my skin only to end up with feet the color of a cadaver
:( Wtf is up with that? Seriously, for the money I’ve dropped on Moodys, I think Stiletto should pop out of the the box and whisper the skin matching, ankle fitting code in my ear! And, then buy me dinner.

  17. Why do people get butthurt when GoGo is honest? Surely if she agreed with the masses about popular brands, she would be labeled a sheep and a kiss ass.

I’m THRILLED to read honest, real and intelligent blogs about SL fashion that don’t just blindly praise whatever is “in” at the moment.

Once again, GoGo is spot on. Stiletto Moody’s are an overhyped, overpriced brand of shoe. I do have to give her props for creating a stellar “brand” though. I myself much prefer the new Maitreya Gold Line…they’re simply amazing and easy to wear.

  18. i just thinking after sawing and reading this article here – i am happy i didnt left any of my groups to get a crappy freebie. a freebie is for me much more as just ‘free gift’ it should advertise a shop, it should show: “hey we do good quallity please use this item to see what we done, trust us and come back to buy our full price items”. if a freebie is failing, i dont want to come back as costumer. i dont can trust the creator for good work.

thats my opinion, hope the sense can be understand – fan or not fan.

  19. The shoes are nice, *Since I got them for free*. I agree with what was said. The skin tinting option could be and should be better especially since Stiletto Moody originally wanted 2K for these. Never in a million years would I pay for some crappy prim toes just because their by STILETTO MOODY. Sometimes I think she feels ENTITLED to gouge on her products just because. SAD WAY TO LOOSE BUSINESS. Lets make a bet, How long will it take for Stiletto Moody to have an *Out Of Business Sale*? Not trying to be mean but its just my 2¢. :D

  20. I remember when I first went to SM. My friend was all excited cause we were given money to go there as a gift. Then I saw the price and was like wtf, I didn’t get why they were so much. Well this isn’t one of those stories where I say I totally understood how they could cost so much. After I got them i thought they were cute but not worth the amount I paid for them. My friend then told me you pay for the name not the shoe. So now i have 2 pairs of sm shoes and the question I’m sure everyone wants to know. Did they make me totally sl cooler. No they didn’t and they were a bitch to mess with the prims. I’m still just me with sm shoes in my inventory. So no you don’t get put into some strange sl elite for getting them, but that’s just what happened to me. Also only my opinion.

    Ttyl layla

  21. Your an ugly person gogo. Everyone knows what kind of meanie you are. Yuk, ill never be reading ur blog again.

  22. Moody’s shoes are IMO the hardest to match iv’e ever come across, iv’e bought a couple of pairs and they always have that ‘corpse’ look about them. I’d rather spend my lindens at Maitreya and get a superior looking shoe.

  23. I have to say thank you for being honest, because what you said above is EXACTLY what I thought when I tried on these shoes and I had the same problems (I deleted mine). Anyone above that says they had no problem after wearing the shoes with their AO is a big fat liar! I have purchased Stiletto Moody shoes in the past at the sale price and stopped because I think Stiletto Moody is arrogant for wanting such high prices for a pair of pixel shoes considering there are cheaper and better quality shoes out there. Hell, I can go to the Good Will and buy a pair of designer shoes for the same price her shoes cost converted to US dollars. In fact because her shoes were so awful I hated prim feet for the longest time until I bought a few pairs of Maitreya shoes and now I am in love with them again. I am sure Stiletto Moody is laughing all the way to the bank though.

  24. I love your blog, Gogo, and nothing pisses me off more when people post these catty comments complaining about your honest opinions. Your blog is the only one I’ve ever seen that showcases only high quality stuff, and if it’s not top notch you say so and point out obvious flaws. I love the honesty, and I by no means think you are an “ugly person”. It blows my mind how people are so insulting to you when you’re just stating your honest opinion.

  25. Hi GoGo
( and ALL you SM Idiots ).
and Anessa Stine, I have no clue what you did to your photos, but you DID do something to THEM. Simply because when I got these worthless pieces of sh*t out of the box, I had that SAME issue as GoGo and (I assume) alot of others!
Stop picking on people for thier opinions all of you. We are bloggers and we report on things that MOST people WILL BITCH about. Get a effin clue already.

If SM wants to make crap, them so be it. As for how much her/his shoes cost per pair and those that pay the price, well. I will quote someone here, “Some people are just, dumb” for paying that stupid price. I mean, come ON… look at all the MOD shoes JUST like this out here in SL!

Something needs to be done with so called designers screwing people out of L$ and USD$ or $ here in sl. We all KNOW that those hoes.. I mean shoes are HOE shoes, and those that DO buy them need to have their vasoline out and ready!

SL Bloggers are here to BLOG and give their OPINIONS on things that they obtain for those READING their blogs. We are NOT here to give a crap about your damn drama, keep it in SL and off the GD blogs! (Unless of course, you ARE an idiot!).

GoGo, maybe the time has come to block comments (like I do on mine) until you get to read them (if you do that already, cool!) to stop all this BS babies crying about their favorite shops/stores. I have and show NO favotism to ANYONE, friend or foe. Fair game, JUST like we are to the stupid designers (but some of us KNOW what to look for and KNOW what is good and what it’s JUST by looking at it), that think they can trick us by the angle of a photo to hide seam flaws etc..

I WILL be making and entry on SLSR soon, and I am SURE SM and SM followers will not like it one bit.

Happy Holidays to you and yours GoGo!

    Enid!

  26. Fixing the ao ankle breaking is easy you need a boot fixer, they run about 50L and will keep your ankles straight. BAX was smart enough to integrate one into the BAX ankle boots.

  27. Finally! A blogger who doesn’t kiss the bum of Stiletto Moody. Didn’t get that pair of shoes since I had left the group before, but relieved I didn’t miss anything. I do have a pair of SM (Greta Bare), but since I got my 3 pairs of Maitreya Gold, that pair of shoes is lost somewhere in my inventory. Stiletto Moody seems to live in her bubble, not realizing that many others are now selling prim feet shoes at a better price and of same or better quality. As for the SM fanatics, it’s their right to shop there, but there are so many other shoe designers out there that are extremely talented, maybe trying new designers would be good… especially for their wallet.

  28. I find that SM shoes tend to look better with a darker skin tone. As Gogo says, they have taken a heavy hand with shadowing and it isn’t favorable to lighter skin tones.

Anessa did “something” to the shoes as she states in her comment – she pulled up the ankle section and fiddled with it a bit. I have to do the same with my SM bare shoes. It’s not THAT big a deal. Does it look perfect with my AO? No. But it isn’t a hideous affront, either.

I know we all spend a lot of time adjusting prims for various things, and I think this is no different.

Yes it would be nice to have a color HUD. Yes, I agree that Maitreya’s Gold line has superior feet, and in fact, superior styles. But I appreciate what SM has done – I LOVE my free gift shoes that I would never have bought (due to the style) but now adore.

I wish people wouldn’t be so rude, on both sides of the argument. I love your blog Gogo, but your comebacks to the accusatory and inflammatory poster only seem to lend credence to their accusation. >< It's your blog and you do what you want to, and I have nothing but respect for that. I read it every day. Just don't let the asshats get to you!

    – Bunny

  29. @ Enid – I hope Gogo is as comfortable being included in your definition of ‘SL bloggers’ as you seem to be, a quick visit to your blog is all it takes to see that instead of writing informative or objective ‘Special Reports’ about SL, you are much more comfortable calling your readers ‘F*cktards’ and mocking the mentally retarded in between your wildly unfocused and angry rants.

I stand by my photos as being unedited, and my right to comment on a blog that allows for such (you conveiniently close comments on yours, no shock there). In many cases I agree with Gogo’s reviews and I respect her abilities as a blogger and photographer, in this case however I felt the need to share an opposing viewpoint, no harm in that, I didn’t call her names or suggest that her photos were doctored.

I would much rather live in a world where I can comment on a blog and agree or disagree with an author, and be part of a discussion rather than simply dictated to by people who refuse to tolerate the opinions of others. I don’t like to see the personal attacks and name calling, but that is to be expected in any open forum.

If the rest of you are comfortable living in a vacuum, where you think that any one blog or blogger hits the nail on the head every time they hit ‘publish’ – then more power to ya. I for one will be camped out over here in the world of ‘make up your own damn mind’.

    Thanks for reading!

    • uhhhhh well in fairness that person was being an asshole and did deserve to be called a fucking idiot.

  30. Pricing is always a sensitive issue when you create something. It’s always been a personal problem of mine, and of many designers I know. There’s always the question “What if the price is too high? People won’t buy it” conflicting with “What if the price is too low? People will think the quality is less than it looks”. That said, while the quality of this kind of shoes is undeniable (but admittingly, some more effort in the scripting and adaptability could have been made, HUD scripting isn’t that hard and even outsourcing one shouldn’t be impossibly costly), I wouldn’t name it a 2000 L$ quality. Personally there are very few products in SL whose quality gets near to my idea of 2000 L$, and none of them pertains to fashion excluding quite sizeable fatpacks. A complex vendor system, a state-of-the-art car maybe… But a single pair of shoes? No.
Though, if Moody can get away with that pricing, and be as popular as she is while charging that much, great for her. As always it’s the customer that decides what is warranted and what isn’t.

One thing is for sure though, Gogo is a blogger, not a professional flatterer. I’d say she can definitely write some criticism on a product, no matter what popular, without being accused of having who knows what hidden agendas, expecially when she says something that can’t be defined outlandish by any stretch of the imagination. At 2000 L$ those shoes (or any shoe) ARE overpriced. That isn’t necessarily negative. Gucci is overpriced, Armani is overpriced, Valentino is even more overpriced, and so forth. There are brands, in RL and in SL that make overpricing one of the peculiarities of their brand identity. If the quality is high, they will have a market, if it’s not, they will not. It all comes down to that.
So, having determined (at least according to my personal opinion) that those shoes ARE overpriced, i’d say that accusing Gogo of who knows what secret plan to bring down Moody because she said exactly that, seems quite a bit excessive.

A brand isn’t a religion, even more so in Second Life. Come on…

  31. I really appreciate everyone’s comments — even people who don’t agree with me. I can assure you I publish 99% of the comments on this blog because I don’t mind it when people disagree, as long as they’re not inflammatory.

  32. I got my first pair of SM when they had a sale a few months back, and I really liked the shoes. I had no problem with skin matching or prim fitting, and I liked the height of the heel, more than any other shoe I’d worn. When Maitreya released the Gold line, I tried those too, and had massive problems fitting them. I love the shoes, but they just don’t look right on me. Like so many things in SL, I think how things look on us depend so much on our individual avatars.

Are SM shoes overpriced? Absolutely. No question. But I think Maitreya is too, and honestly, I’m tired of paying $500 for a dress and $1000 for shoes. Prices in SL have gotten slightly ridiculous and Moody’s is just one of the worst offenders. Right now I have my eye on the new shoes from Courtisane, but am finding it difficult to spend $1200 on a pair of shoes, no matter how cool they are, when I’m trying to cut back on my SL spending so I don’t have to move into an SL Hooverville.

  33. most comments i’ve ever seen…

not everyone likes everything.. not everyone looks good in the same thing.. people will shop for what they want regardless of what is said.

  34. Well Well Well….someone has finally said what needed to be said. I remember my first trip to SM….then i was just like WTF are you serious 2000 ls for a pair of shoes. I expected the shoes to transform into a being from outer space and give me powers of some sort. I was informed that wouldn’t happen and then i was like well these have to be some pretty impressive shoes to be this much. My first dealing with prim feet was js and i never had a hardcore problem with their shoes, So i decided to give SM a shot. I watched my friend purchase a pair of their prim feet shoes and watched her play with it. Then she was done. I looked and said, “um why are your feet greyish…that doesn’t seem right”. She then told me that that as close as she could get it to her skin tone. I then laughed and said ok well i’m not paying 2k for that and i ended up getting some boots and pumps from them with no prim feet. Now everytime i see a foot with that prim issue i just shake my head and think “why the hell did you get that”

    xoxo

  35. Gogo…I too am one that does NOT like SM shoes. Everyone is saying about NO HUD. My first reaction to her shoes long ago was, “Why no friggen DEMO’S???” Over 1k at that time for shoes and you just HAD to take a chance? I did and got a pair..they are ok. I bought another pair a few years later..STILL NO DEMO’S! They are strappy and didnt look good at all. Sorry..honest..hard working designers will give DEMO’S for their items. Specially high priced ones.

And I enjoyed Anessa Stine’s honesty…Great way to speak it Anessa! :D

  36. I couldn’t agree more with you Gogo on this one! I think the price is way too high and the SM prim feet seem to always have weird shadows that makes them really hard to match with your skin and no matter how hard you try people can always tell they’re prim feet and that’s not the point. I’ve gotten prim feet from other stores for a much lower price and with a much better result.

I like a couple of heels from SM without prim feet, but I just can’t bring myself to pay that much when I know I can get something just as good just as pretty elsewhere.

  37. To solve this problem, Linden Lab should stop bein cheap and put some toes on our AVs!
SM doesnt please everyone and these shoes arent the make or break to buy them or not. I think both her and Maitreya’s have really cute shoes, so it wont stop me from buying a whole set of their shoes (especially those leopard Shanti’s at the shoe expo…soooo effin sexy!).
Also, get on a stand and pull the ankle up to fit ur leg properly, open the advanced tab and show color under cursor so u can see ur RGB color for ur skin.
Last but not least, if you havent noticed skins are being made so beautifully now so when u look at your leg, if you have a pretty skin on, your skin will have that added “glow or shine” on it so your foot color wont really be as accurate as it should be.
And finally, stop effing with Gogo…dont kill the messenger.

  38. I like to read GOGO because se isn’t afraid to point out things she don’t like. I was getting the SM shoes because it’s the only way to try them and see for myself how the quality is. Their lack of demo’s are a bigger issue for me than the prize.

I like the shoes I got. I will wear them with a boot fixer to keep the ancle straight. But, for 2000L that problem should be solved by SM, it is not right that I should attach a boot fixer just to make her product look good. The HUD is also very 2007, designers has moved on during the 2 years since I bought my first prim toes. Not SM.

I hope SM will listen to this and make her produckt more customer-friendly. What she take for her shoes is up to her. But, the more you charge, the more your customers will expect a flawless shoe.

  39. Man, what a mess!

I’m only going to be saying that I have had the same experience with this SM shoe that Gogo as well as many others have had. I, however, can’t vouch for their other products as I have never purchased their before. I can’t say I’ll ever find out, either, as I don’t intend to ever do shopping there.

Not impressed, to say the least.

I think we all need some holiday spirit, so Happy Thanksgiving everyone! =)

  40. I picked up these shoes, dropping a group space on the day the group was opened, and wasn’t really all that impressed. Sure, the prim work is AMAZING, but for those of us who live in pale skins, it’s hard as hell to look right, even harder for those of us that prefer softer, not quite photorealistic looks. And trying to fit them to a fantasy skin? Nigh impossible. Sure, SM shoes are pretty, but after picking up that promo? I’ll stick with SLink, Maitreya, and COCO, as they’re done as awesome, if not better.

  41. While I have to admit, I love some SM’s (their old stuff, not this new stuff they’re releasing these days) and I equally love your brand as well and I’m very neutral in all this, I see your arguments. Also I vowed never to buy their prim feet shoes because so many other designers were coming out with better ones with half the price, so I felt I never needed to own any. But they were free and I got them and I do like them very much even to the extent where I blogged a very positive revue about them despite the issues I myself was (and still am) having.

My issue was that the customizing portion of the HUD will only work for one foot. No matter how many times I re-rezzed, re-baked, or re-bought them it was always the same. Even switching viewers didnt work. I emailed their customer service address three times. Once when I first encountered the problem, once when I thought I may have fixed it to apologize, then once the next day to tell them ‘nope, your shoes are still messed up.’ But I did it in a polite and respectable way, and the next time I got on I had a message from Dancer that was kinda snotty. She was like ‘We will look into your concerns, But next time only send us one e-mail. Thanks.’

Okay. I only sent them three because of my concern, because I was so DAMN excited to have a new pair of shoes from them, and she was actually kinda rude. I was polite. I wasn’t even upset because I had good faith it would get resolved. But I just got a snooty remark and now a few weeks later the issue still isn’t fixed. So as far as new SM products go, I probably won’t be much of a consumer anymore.

  42. Even if I’m glad someone finally pointed out SM is far from perfection (and far from being worth 2000L$) as mentioned in my previous comment, I have to admit that I don’t mind the drop down menu and didn’t have a hard time with the “ControlFreak” option. The prim feet that come with HUDs have been a bit of a nightmare for me… especially since I switched skin as my previous skin was listed in the notecard provided with the Maitreya Gold, but not my actual one, so I had to play alot. I managed to make the feet and my skin match, but then I changed again. If at least there was a way to put in the RGB numbers, it would be much more simple.

  43. I don’t get how someone can attack a blogger for giving their personal opinion about an item. Come on people, do the other readers as well as the blog owner a favor and keep your petty bashing to yourself. Anessa, I’M TALKING TO YOU. No where in this blog do I see the blog owner being cruel or giving false information. She has posted her personal issues with the shoes, nothing more and nothing less. Who are you to come to her blog and try to pick a fight, yes that is what you seem to be doing. Its one thing to come to another persons blog and give your opinion… but to come trying to smear the persons image… grow up. Save your drama for your momma hunny… we don’t want it one bit (I feel safe with speaking for everyone with that comment lol).

  44. This blog makes me wonder why the bitterness? Is this really about my shoes, I have never spoken to this writer and anyone interested in the shoes has contacted me with comments for improvement. But not here, this has a tone of anger to it. And yes she was under legal investigation and there remain unanswered questions about her association with copyright infringers.

Why would someone like this even come to get a gift intended as a thank you for our group members? So I mulled through some possibilities

Stiletto Moody prices are too high? Not True – every season, I have an end of season sale at 40% off. In fact our next one is coming soon

Stiletto Moody is greedy and rich? Not True I put in more money than I take It’s expensive to run a real business. But innovations such as my sculpted shoes and then my BAREfoot© are the result. I worked on BAREfoot for a year – and the ensuing explosion of the feet is what you now see. (Watch for my DMCA’s against the pirates)

Stiletto Moody doesn’t care? Not True I make these shoes for you. The only thing I care about is you? After Stiletto Moody shoes group is one of the biggest in SL because i do care and I am humbly appreciative of anyone who is kind enough to wear my shoes.

And then it struck me, this is about making money as a blogger. She gets paid for controversy, and given loose handling of the facts, I suspect she spends more time writing than on Second Life with us all. You see controversy sells better than truth. And more readers mean more money.

As to this post? Of course the shoe won’t fit out of the box unless you wear the “Stiletto Moody catwalk shape” which is free. So yes, you will need to adjust the size and skin color to fit your avatar. I don’t hack solutions, and when I release a HUD it will address major fashion deficiencies just like the BAREfoot© did. That leaves the ankle. I design shoes that I imagine you wearing on the 2010 catwalks of NY, Paris, Milan and London. Proportion and emotion are critical. It’s about how you feel when you put on a Moody the grace that I hope you take with it. The ankle is my solution to allow for a perfect shoe shape – and the market agrees – as it outsells non-ankle versions about 5 to 1. So tell me if the feeling is better than an occasional exposed ankle cause I am about feeling.

Ah, so all that guff about Sasawe’s account being hacked was just guff? He DID go off and sell the sculpted shoes – which HE made – on his own, and you DO think Gogo had something to do with it. Thought so! If there ‘remain unanswered questions’, I should go ahead and get some answers – but you won’t!

Why would someone like this even come to get a gift intended as a thank you for our group members? So I mulled through some possibilities

Stiletto Moody prices are too high? Not True – every season, I have an end of season sale at 40% off. In fact our next one is coming soon

Frankly even at 40% off they are still overpriced and not well put together. You promised a cheaper range – never happened. You promised demos – never happened. You’re a fibber!

OMG! If you are not cashing out by now you should so seriously quit. And please, stop lying. You did NOT innovate either sculpted shoes or prim feet. Fallingwater was the first with sculpt shoes, and Cathy Foil was the first with prim feet. You are a liar. If you had worked on your prim feet for a year, how come you never noticed the crinkling at the end of the toes? They look like chipolatas! Oh yeah – because you don’t make the sculpts, you outsource. You’re a figurehead – end of!

Stiletto Moody doesn’t care? Not True I make these shoes for you. The only thing I care about is you? After Stiletto Moody shoes group is one of the biggest in SL because i do care and I am humbly appreciative of anyone who is kind enough to wear my shoes.

If you care so much for your group, why not tell them the truth?

And then it struck me, this is about making money as a blogger. She gets paid for controversy, and given loose handling of the facts, I suspect she spends more time writing than on Second Life with us all. You see controversy sells better than truth. And more readers mean more money.

That’s utter rubbish. You hate this blog because it sees you plain.

The “Stiletto Moody catwalk shape” is a ghastly thing. The face is hideous – why not simply put the leg, body fat and thickness slider settings on a notecard? Or alternatively you could make the darn shoes a bit better. Ask your 3D modellers, eh? Oh yes, design!! Because you DON’T design these shoes. The designs are copied from RL designs. Not inspired, copied. Unoriginal. Derivative.

Yeah – you should probably know, Miss Gabor’s name was ZsaZsa, NOT Tsa Tsa. Just sayin’

  46. The ankle strap problem is evident, can be seen in many avatars in-world. In my opinion is also evident that other brands offer the same (or better) quality, different styles, include HUD, perfect fit on the ankles (straps), customizable menu, DEMOS….with MUCH more reasonable price. Personally I LOVE Maitreya, N-core and SLink shoes among others.

  47. “Stiletto Moody doesn’t care? Not True I make these shoes for you. The only thing I care about is you? After Stiletto Moody shoes group is one of the biggest in SL because i do care and I am humbly appreciative of anyone who is kind enough to wear my shoes.”

This made me chuckle. – I have a hard time believing that PURELY because I have seen many other creators within SL use that same line and sell with a more *meek* attitude – not with an attitude that makes people feel like *YOU* (the customer) owe *THEM* something.
Frankly, we don’t owe them anything. Without our business, they would not thrive. There are many out there who sell items of high quality for much less. I think SM is greedy, period. :)

Indeed, it can take quite the investment to start a business, however my point still stands. There are numerous businesses selling items of excellent quality for *FAR* less. – Not only that, they make their items more “user friendly”. Does SM provide “user friendly” products? – You answer that.

Amused, yet not impressed. Thank you for telling it like it is GoGo. <3

    Good read.

  48. WOW!! Who in the hell wrote that crappy speech for you Moody? You just don’t get it hun. You expect us to pay you OUR hard earned money for what? People are having problems with your product and the best you can do is come up with a long speech about how Gogo’s blog misrepresents your shoes and how you choose to do what you feel? You really don’t care about us. You are just another guppy out looking for that quick buck. You have no heart and it shows. Also, if you despise Gogo so much, why did you take the time out to copy that speech? Oh wait, i’m sorry its one of your customer service reps who did it. NOT YOU. My bad! Shame on you Stiletto Moody.. or that CSR who wrote that speech, shame!

  49. OMG how rediculous!! If you don’t like SM shoes then don’t buy them. When her new shoes came out it was almost impossible to even get in the sim. If her shoes were truely horrible and they weren’t even worth a second look then why would consumers rush out to grab them. People in general are not so willing to have the wool pulled over their eyes. A malicious blog about someone’s creations isn’t a review its slander. Due to this post, not only has the product been subject to harsh scrutiny, but now Stiletto Moody’s character as a person is being judged. Who are you to throw anyone on the chopping block. Give me a break. Stoking the fire is just as bad as starting it yourselves. I know that someone will have something really nasty to say about this post and thats fine. Opinions are abundant in this world. I am dissapointed in all of this trash talk between everyone. I love this blog and look forward to the new posts almost everyday, but the beauty on the outside falls short if what lies beneath has ugly intent. Lets keep the subjects on track. This is supposed to be a place for fashion and all its glory. If you wanna discuss moral fiber and pass judgement on people jump on youtube.com

  50. “Stiletto Moody prices are too high? Not True – every season, I have an end of season sale at 40% off. In fact our next one is coming soon”

NOT TRUE?!? I’m sorry but that makes me laugh, with the “discount” are still more expensive than most others. oh, and accessories separately! ( for 1000 L$ approx., lol)

“The ankle is my solution to allow for a perfect shoe shape – and the market agrees – as it outsells non-ankle versions about 5 to 1. So tell me if the feeling is better than an occasional exposed ankle cause I am about feeling.”

OMG, That is absolutely false. Your shoes are the worst ankle adjustment ( in comparison with other major brands ) .I would like to know where you get those statistics is obvious that people prefer the shoes fixed in the ankles, not the effect orthopedic !!

” But innovations such as my sculpted shoes and then my BAREfoot© are the result. I worked on BAREfoot for a year – and the ensuing explosion of the feet is what you now see. (Watch for my DMCA’s against the pirates)”

As someone said before, You did NOT innovate either sculpted shoes or prim feet, we know that others did before. you not are a CREATOR of shoes ( others create for you ) and neither you design because they are imitations of RL designs like Gucci or Christian Louboutin ( i don’t think there is authorization of those marks to copy their designs, i imagine if they wanted can start a legal action against you ). As you can threaten to DMCA to other designers who possibly create their own shoes and designs ???

Honestly I know a lot of people who no longer buys into stiletto moody, you should ask some questions because I think your business is falling rapidly.

( Apologies to all, English is not my language )

  51. Ashley, for what reason this blog is malicious?? the people just say his opinion ( like the writer ) and you can see what is the general opinion, please don’t make a stupid drama. Stiletto moody have a BIG name, for this reason when her new shoes came out his sim are full , of course this does not mean that everybody bought. in fact I think not actually reach the expectations of sales, i see few people in world wearing the last models…

  52. I totally disagree with this kind of commercial operation. I tried to get this gift for days. I felt cheated when they closed group’s registrations. It seemed to me a disrespectful thing toward new potential customs.
I don’t have any Stiletto Moody shoes, and I have NO intention to buy any. They are unjustifiably too much expensive. There is cheaper and better quality bare feet shoes in SL.

  53. Rachel. I do understand what you are saying but you have no evidence to back up your lil speech. If you had read my comment correctly and could understand everything that I said, you would know that I was anti drama from the beginning. I love this blog and I think we should all concentrate on the fashion not the name calling. As I said before…judging the chartacter of Stiletto Moody is not fashion. Like the shoes, don’t like the shoes…but just get over it!!

  54. I don’t dwell on the negativity and so excuse my lack of response in future. I prefer to focus on designing shoes and positivity. However I was told some have now been flailing wildly at my support staff.

What I do think is in bad spirit is attacking people who work for me. The CRM staff work hard to help fit, provide information, talk to customers. They are there day and night, and focus on helping customers. The website is continually updated with new information and user guides as notecards are simply not good enough.

I design, write and talk for myself as I always have, and will. Maybe Feather comes to talk when I have my baby in April – but he will introduce himself.

You are spoiled for choice on SL since there are now so many feet in the image of the original BAREfoot, and so just get a brand you like. Hey you can even buy the “shoes” offered at this blog, although the prices seem to be higher than I remember. Maybe that’s why she stopped shouting about my prices – lol.

Its simple really – I design shoes because I love them – and I am happy that others love them too. I am unlikely to a make a design choice that compromises a beautiful 2010 shoe reflecting the zeitgeist, colors and emotion of the moment to cover a bit of ankle flesh and diminish a shoe.

That’s me – my entire design methodology, the reason I am here is to focus on the emotion, the feeling I get when I wear a pair of heels that work for me, the connection I have with customers and friends where its all too easy to shout anonymously but more difficult to FEEL love and joy. When I put on a new design and I feel that it’s done! See SL is about touching the soul as its all so intangible – that’s where I have worked to be, and maybe that’s why there was a reaction to my brand. One thing is clear my shoes will always be what my customers want, and my customers who care have a productive way of telling me. There are lots of people sending comments, talking to me all day – I am listening, updating, working in the studio, and improving always. And I welcome you to participate in that process.

Remember we were in Flintstone prims shoes when I started designing shoes – blocks of wood on pink fleshy lumps and I thought – “if I can’t buy them I will design them – for me.” Same thing when I designed the BAREfoot for the shoes and that’s where we are today – a fully sculpted shoe around a real BAREfoot – for me the distance we have come has been worth it.

So come into the boutique and give me a hug – its all going to be OK – you have my mission statement above – that’s I dwell. I am always receptive. Get me in world or at http://www.stilettomoody.com

I wish you all a wonderful holiday
    Stiletto Moody

    • So, you reply to a post made by a blogger about your shoes, and preach you can be gotten a hold of. I’m sorry, but this is simply not true. About a year ago I was having a massive amount of trouble with some of your shoes and boots. I tried to contact you many times to no avail. I’ll give you a little info on what i’m meaning since i never once was able to talk to you, your ‘help’ staff even refused to pass on a question to you. I was interested in a pair of the sky high boots, and since there was no demo for them (never seems to be demo’s for SM footwear i find) i ended up purchasing them. Silly me, wish i hadn’t. I attempted to resize them, oh wait. no that’s right.. i couldn’t. even if i was forced to resize and then place each individual prim i would of been satisfied, even tho they were 2300L, but no. I couldn’t manipulate anything about them whatsoever. So, i contacted your “help” staff. If you are wondring why i put those quotations in, is because i think your help staff is pretty much farsical. Anyways, back to the gripe…

I contacted your help staff, tho i was looking to contact you instead. Your staff informed me there are no refunds whatsoever (which is always helpful when you don’t give people the ability to try on a demo before they shell out 2K L btw). I told them i hadn’t been looking for a refund (tho i wonder why they would automatically assume i was asking for a refund of your wonderful product) and that i was just looking for some assistance in actually getting them resized to fit me. For 2300L you kinda expect the creator and staff to bend over backwards for people that shell out that much to help them achieve a perfect fit for the product.

They informed me they couldn’t be resized and that i should just use the catwalk shape. Now, if this was 4 years ago when EVERYBODY was a seven foot tall amazon, that would be no problem for me. But its not 4 years ago, i’ve always had a shorter more petite shape. I’m used to having to resize EVERYTHING i buy to fit me. I have absolutely no problems with that. Hence why i was looking to talk to you, not your help staff. All they would do is sit there and essentially it was MY problem, not theirs, or yours and that they would not even pass anything on to you about it.

All i was looking for was the ability to resize a pair of 2,300L boots. Prior to those boots i had probably spent upwards of 50K at SM on shoes. I HAD been satisfied with SM stuff up until this point. After about 30minutes of trying to explain to your “help” staff what i wanted help with, i finally told them to just give me a refund and i would delete the boots. I even went so far as to take multiple screenshots and upload them to show them i had deleted them.

They finally relented and gave me my money back. Really, how can you not do refunds when you don’t offer the ability to resize anything and not even try something on via a demo!? that’s like asking people to buy clothes off a rack blindfolded and unable to do anything about it if they grabbed the wrong size etc. It is just stupid.

So I went away angry and upset over my experience, but i hadn’t given up hope yet. I was still giving the SM brand hope that it could redeem itself in my eyes. I went to the SM website and left a message for you. It even said that you were the one that handles the messages from the website. Ten minutes after i posted the message, the same “help” staff member messages me point blank asking me “what the fuck do you want? didn’t we already go through this at the store?”. Needless to say, shock ensued.

While i understand you personally might not have the same viewpoints and outlooks as some of your “help” staff, they are the people that represent you. they are the ones people deal with, since it seems no one is ever able to actually talk to you themselves. They made someone, that had at that point invested a large chunk of L into SM footwear, turn completely against the brand.

If you are truly serious about putting out quality product (and yes it looks damn good sitting on the shelf in the store, some of the best in SL imo) then work with your customer base. If you deem to charge essentially twice as much as any other sculpted foot shoe in SL, then actually make the shoe twice as good. SLink, Maitreya’s Gold line, N-core even is easilly on par with you quality wise at this point, but cost approx half as much. And with all of those brands you can resize the footwear! If you wanna make a script lag comment at this point, then add in a script delete feature! it isn’t hard! hell, BAX cohen brought out those boots that were scripted so well they could detect your leg size and such and auto fit them fucking selves, and you can’t put a simple, deletable resize script in your stuff!? Come on SM, people view your footwear along the lines of Gucci and Prada because of the silky smooth texturing, and if that makes my Maitreya Shearling boots, my SLink Cassandra socked heels at the level of a pair of heels off the shelf at Payless shoes, then sign me up for a frequent buyer card at Payless.

Your shoes at the moment might as well just be rezzed on a shelf in someone’s home because without the ability to truly resize and fit them, as well as a more competant coloring interface, they are just paperweights.

Quandir Avro – former SM supporter.

  55. ” I design, write and talk for myself as I always have, and will. Maybe Feather comes to talk when I have my baby in April – but he will introduce himself.”

Nope – you DON’T design – you take designs from RL shoes – you copy them.

” You are spoiled for choice on SL since there are now so many feet in the image of the original BAREfoot, and so just get a brand you like.”

Yours were NOT the first sculpted prim feet. Stop lying.

” Hey you can even buy the “shoes” offered at this blog, although the prices seem to be higher than I remember. Maybe that’s why she stopped shouting about my prices – lol.”

She didn’t stop commenting on your ludicrously inflated prices, and putting quotation marks around the word shoes is showing some spiteful negativity dude – don’t go there!!

” Its simple really – I design shoes because I love them – and I am happy that others love them too. I am unlikely to a make a design choice that compromises a beautiful 2010 shoe reflecting the zeitgeist, colors and emotion of the moment to cover a bit of ankle flesh and diminish a shoe.”

Again with the lies – and the shoes you sell have design FLAWS and FAULTS and poor build quality.

“That’s me – my entire design methodology, the reason I am here is to focus on the emotion, the feeling I get when I wear a pair of heels that work for me, the connection I have with customers and friends where its all too easy to shout anonymously but more difficult to FEEL love and joy. There are lots of people sending comments, talking to me all day – I am listening, updating, working in the studio, and improving always. And I welcome you to participate in that process.”

Oh thanks – my participation is this – you’re a liar and a fraud and probably a man in RL. if you even have a studio I can’t imagine what you might do in there since it surely isn’t making prim shoes!

” Remember we were in Flintstone prims shoes when I started designing shoes – blocks of wood on pink fleshy lumps and I thought – “if I can’t buy them I will design them – for me.” Same thing when I designed the BAREfoot for the shoes and that’s where we are today – a fully sculpted shoe around a real BAREfoot – for me the distance we have come has been worth it.”

No, we were wearing Fallingwater’s beautiful sculpted shoes, and Tesla’s, and a few others. You did NOT come to SL to play and go ‘oh golly, lookit the horrid shooses, I must make better ones!!!’ You first posted on the SL forums asking for 3D sculptors to work for you. You must think the residents of SL are as daft as you are!! Your account has been about business from day one. Fibber!

” So come into the boutique and give me a hug – its all going to be OK – you have my mission statement above – that’s I dwell. I am always receptive. ”

Haha, I don’t think so. Seriously, would you ask someone to proof read your posts for you? Clearly English is not your first language, why would it be in Eastern Europe? That’s cool – many beautiful languages out there. But it would help if we could understand what you mean.

  56. Absolutely agree at all Cassie…had ever heard of the arrogance and prepotency of this person…i see now that is true.

“You are spoiled for choice on SL since there are now so many feet in the image of the original BAREfoot, and so just get a brand you like. Hey you can even buy the “shoes” offered at this blog, although the prices seem to be higher than I remember. Maybe that’s why she stopped shouting about my prices – lol.”

For what reason you write shoes with quotation marks when you refer to other brands?..mmm, maybe is like if i write, Stiletto Moody are a “designer” or “creator”??
So many feet in the image of the original Barefoot? lol, lol and lol. The other brands mentioned in this blog offer the same or better quality and better price…and you know it.You should have more humility, I see you said nothing about if you have authorization of Gucci or Christian Louboutin ( the designs that you copy of RL ) for sell your shoes. I see in some pictures your models are identical design of this RL designers…sincerely i can’t believe the true Stiletto Moody write this post, is a shame

  57. “……..provide information, talk to customers. They are there day and night, and focus on helping customers……….”

What? LOOOL and by customers you mean what? people that spend daily money with you? Cause from this statement seems like i’m not one, even if i have spent over 4k there O.o

and lol, you were the first one making sculpted feet? LOOOOOOOL let me laugh

  58. Ugh, I think the most offensive part of this post is Stiletto Moody and her reps clamoring up here with their rehearsed bullcrap sales-propaganda.

Face it, you’re just selling shoes derived from RL designs. You’re pitching pricey knock offs to a virtual world consumer base. You ain’t doing anything noble or innovative. The whole schmaltzy, “I design what I feel” makes me gag. And I’m a touchy feely person.

And the whole copyright implication of “barefoot” … like hell you’re gonna get that trademarked.

Stiletto Moody has and always will be a brand that promotes an image of pseudo-elitism and exclusivity. By puffing up prices for a mediocre and unoriginal product. The shoes are okay, but I’ve always refused to buy them since they aren’t my style (to me, they look more appropriate for strippers or pornstars). And Stiletto’s delusions of grandeur and originality is a major turn off.

SM talks big and acts like they’re on the level of Louboutin, Choo, Manolo’s, but in reality, SM is like a Jessica Simpson brand. You guys are a hot mess. Having a piece of humble pie once in a while is good for you. Embrace it.

    • “Stiletto Moody has and always will be a brand that promotes an image of pseudo-elitism and exclusivity. By puffing up prices for a mediocre and unoriginal product. And Stiletto’s delusions of grandeur and originality is a major turn off.”

      Spot on.

  59. All this complaining and bashing of SM. The long and short of it is…don’t shop there!

I buy at Stiletto Moody’s…why? Because most of the prim shoe makers do not cater to darker skins. Because out of all the designers Slink and Moody are the ONLY shoes that give you the ability to put in the RGB. I have not bought any Maitreya because the demos do not give the ability to even see if I can tint the shoes to my darker skin tone.

And as for recreating RL shoes in SL. What is wrong with that? I can’t buy them in RL, so at least I have the ability to let my avi wear them in SL.

    Too many haters here.

  60. I like SM shoes, but I do find them very, very overpriced. That business model works if people A] can still afford that price and B] the item is of such higher quality so people can justify spending the extra money or C] the brand name is good enough that people keep buying out of habit. The answer to A is a very personal one. The answer to B, in SM’s case is NO. There are shoes that are much cheaper that are as good or better than SM’s shoes. Each reader can decide if C applies to SM or not.

  61. god i need kidding so much by this letters cause seems peoples see slowley the truth about SM
For me she is the person i really dont like in sl cause shes a rude b….
for around 2 years she was in my shop and asked if i cna teach her in making shoes and i invetsed much time to help her. i invetsed around a week but it was a pain cause she couldnt link 2 prims and then she leaved without bye, thank for the time and kikked me from her list, thats true her
i also know why her shoes must eb so expensive cause she need pay the persons who does the shoes for her she dont create the shoes her own as she say always cause fact si one who cnat link 2 prims in a week and is so long online never would be a great builder and away from this i know peopels who are friend with the sculpors who does her shoes
and if you dont do your own stuff oyu need to be expensive to cna affored all
    bill list:
    pay the sculptor
    pay the advertise team
present herself as “big designer” in magazins so peopels belive the lie
and soon you need sell a shoe for 2k to cna pay all persons who give your lie live
as she means a real biz is hard to hold and cost much money yes is true it cost much but its not so expensive when you do your own work and dont need pay a whole collection of persons who work for your lie ^^

  62. This is in repsonce to Anessa Stine’s comment to me and my blog about the “Special/retarded” comment she thinks.
1- I was NOT bashing on the special people (see this is what my blog is about). You need to re read that post again and again until you get a clue hunnie. Becuase you have it all wrong and anyone with a brain could tell that!
2- My Blog is just that, MY BLOG, I do with it what I dam well please. By turning off the comments on MY BLOG, (See URL listed) keeps me from having to “fight” with people like you , Anessa. Again, get a clue!
3- Yes, I agree with Fawn, You need to stop picking on people that you have NO CLUE as to what’s going on and stop putting words in their mouths.
4- It’s easy to “trick” some people into believing what YOU say in your post without them going to check MY blog out for themselves to SEE that what YOU speak (blow out your ass) of, is not true at all. But no, you want to control YOUR world and everyone elses.
Again, this is just what my blog is all about, people like Anessa. Starting shit, trickery, bigots, can’t do nothing for themselves and have to pick on other becuase they are jealous!

    Stop I say, just stop!

  63. Kakaue, that was a rude and nasty way to be treated. You are entirely right, but the thing is, everyone knows already!
We all know SM doesn’t design the shoes. I find the ‘copying from RL and passing it off as your own design is fine’ attitude seriously strange. A design is a design, and copying is copying. It is low and underhand. It is theft, and i have no tine for thieves; they disgust me.
We all know SM doesn’t make the scuplts; Photon Pink, Sasawe Capelini and several other did/do that. It wouldn’t be a problem if SM were honest about it, but SM is dishonest about EVERYTHING!! There is no shame in useing honestly obtained resources; what a pity SM can’t see that he is only lying to himself.
We know that SM’s self-aggrandising advertisements are lies. NOT the first sculpted shoes, NOT the first sculpted foot. NOT the ‘gold’ standard for ANYTHING.
So, we know all this, and so do most of the customers. Which only leaves a few possible conclusions. They WANT to look like deformed strippers, they have more money than sense, they are hoping it still ‘means’ something to be able to waste real money on pixel crap, they are hoping to fool new players into thinking they are special because their pixel shoes were more expensive than others.
So, if you are happy to pay over the odds for unoriginal designs, outsourced prims and textures, lies, boasting and bullshit – shop at Moody’s. You are a laughing stock, but hey – you spent the grocery money on pixels, way to go!

  64. I was enthralled with SM shoes, I thought they were so beautiful and couldnt wait to be able to afford a pair. It was a shame that no demos were offered – this is a negative in my opinion. Also, there is issues with the ankle strap at least on the pair that I bought – for the amount of money I spent, even with the 40% off, the fit is far from perfect – for that kind of money I expect as close to perfect as pixel possible. I have bought less expensive shoes that were a breeze to adjust and wear. SM has lovely styles (with several being just variations on one style but lovely nonetheless) BUT customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I purchased what i thought was a black pair of shoes only to find they were black python – as a result of how the display was arranged. I clicked the buy box for pitch black, cursor unfortunately picked up the greyish python boot just below. I immediately contacted the customer rep to ask simply for the correct color – after several IMs back and forth the final reply was no can do, not exchangeable. For the money they charge and the money they make – this is unacceptable to me. I will not shop there again. A good lesson for all customer reps to remember —> It takes a lifetime to keep a client and seconds to lose one. Oh and btw, the free shoes mentioned above are no longer available and havent been for days, I suggest taking down the advertisment sign from your main store, it saves people a lot of clicking for nothing.

  65. I have clarified my opinion about moody’s shoes, but i understand that they do not do a exchange in a mistake purchase of the customer. The shoes are NO tranfer, for this reason they can’t do exchanges ( exchange= 1 pair of shoes free to the customer )

  66. Unfortunately, Ms Moody, your CSR is crap. As much as I do not like to dump shit on people I will in your case. When people spend large amounts of cash, either in games or real life, they expect great service. This does not apply only if you buy a discounted paperclip and it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to – and you decide not to bother because it cost you 1p.

With costly products, and you know yours are, customers want to feel appreciated. In my case, I was made fun of. I have a well proportioned but shorter avatar, which looks absolutely normal. Your shoes did not fit and your CSR made jokes about the shape and about “Being surprised any shoes fit me in SL”. Well for your own sake, all other shoes fit me in SL, and I have never had a CSR make fun of what I look like in their or any other products. It’s a disgrace to your business, because customer relations is where it all starts.

    Good luck,
    Sam.

  67. i would like to say something on this post that i have wanted to say since the very first Moody bare foot shoe. And i know this post is old, but i just ran across it today.
Moody was not the first to come up with the idea of toes in shoes. it was a place called X2 Exotica circa 2005-2006. They came with a hud and built in Ao which was awesome, however you had to wear that Ao for the shoes to operate. ( it had beautiful stands and walks though). Every woman in sL had to have a pair.
These were the first and only ones for a while. a long while, then the moody explosion. I wondered all those years why no one else made shoes like that.
I pulled mine out tonight,Storma was one of the first to get hit by theft, she also made some awesome skins and someone copied and sold them out from under her. The coolest thing ever was there were 16 colors and 4 texture options and it didn’t cost a lot to get all those colors and textures. I wish someone would make a pair today with that option. And not make it cost my life savings. i used to wear them all the time and just change the colors and textures to match my outfits. What brought these shoes up was i read where S.M. was going to file a DMCA, was not her idea first, so i would like to see how. i think even J’s had toe shoes before Moody(correct me if i am wrong on that one)

  68. Absolutely agree with you.Today visited SM and bought pair of boots and got the gift.Neither boots nor shoes doesnt fit me at all.I couldnt titnt feet colour.and i though why should we pay so high price?its not perfect at all.loos good only on vendors.so…….not so good.and will not buy SM stuff

  69. Let’s get one thing straight – by no means or stretch of the imagination did you, Stiletto Moody, come up with the prim foot for shoes. Try a DMCA and find out how quickly people will rail against you. FYI not all prim shoes with prim feet are copies of your precious BAREfoot – just because you spent the time sculpting it yourself does not mean another designer didn’t spend hours of days of weeks of months sculpting their own. Last I checked we all have feet we can model ourselves for our sculpting, and last I checked you never created ME or MY FEET. So if I were to sculpt prim feet, even in a similar pose to yours (which would HAVE to be the same for high heeled shoes), you are saying you would start a DMCA? Bring it on. Another thing – all fashion in SL is based off of something from RL, so if you’re doing that well with your “original designs”, WHEN will we see them in RL? Ohhhh, that’s right! They’re NOT your original brainstorm … They’re someone ELSE’S brainstorm and you decided to bring them to SL. It’s nice that you are wanting to bring them to SL b/c you love them, but you have NO right to claim them as your original designs. Nor do you have the right to DMCA anyone else who may come up with a similar design who has seen the EXACT SAME SHOE you got your own inspiration from in RL! Very quick way to have the original creators notified in RL that you are infringing on their products and claiming it as your own. Not the brightest cookie there, dear.

  70. She doesn’t even make the shoes, her hired patsy does that for her.
She doesn’t even make the textures, her hired patsy does that for her.
She doesn’t even deal with issues, her hired patsy teflon shoulders them off.

She DOES base her shoes on rl designs e.g. fredericks of hollywood, louboutin.
She DOES release products fully aware of the issues surrounding them (yea remember the 200 prim shoes people couldn’t tp in and you said nothing and hoped it would go away?)

She IS laughing all the way to the bank.

  71. Obviously it isn’t going to fit perfectly right out of the box because everybody has a different body shape, which is why it can be adjusted, same with the skin tone.

The ankle crashing may not be great, but it still a better solution that most of the other shoes out there, and way better than not having an ankle at all. The avatar ankle is crap, until Linden will allow bendy sculpted prims I don’t see how they or anyone could make this better.

And are you seriously complaining about a free pair of shoes from one of the best? Obviously some people just can’t be pleased.

    • Wow, I cannot believe I am responding to a post that was posted over a year ago. Obviously I am not complaining about a pair of “free shoes”. I am doing an honest review/feedback with what I perceive to be a product that is also sold at Stiletto Moody’s main store for thousands of Lindens.

Are you saying that this pair of shoes is somehow inferior to the ones that are sold for full price? Because it is my understanding that it is exactly the same.

      • November 24th 2009.. not quite a year yet, but yes an old old post.

I’m not saying they are inferior, they appear to be the same as the full price product, I’m saying that all shoes need to be adjusted to fit individual avatars.

Your review is fair, but it also looks like in the bottom picture that you have the Ankle part is too low which is causing it to crash. I haven’t really had any problems with the fit, sure sometime it does take some time to get them to fit right, but I expect that since I don’t think it is possible to make a shoe fit everybody right out of the box.

  72. i got the free shoes and they look horrible on me. i see some ball scultpy thing in them when i use my AO. and my cousin bought me a pair of white ballet slipper ones that i threw out because they just looked horrible. what a waste of money.

i love my maitreya gold shoes. they look fantastic, i can even match the ‘skin’ to my stockings with a little bit of patience. and they never look weird when i wear my ao. these shoes look really plasticy and fake. i’m sure they are to toast of escorts everywhere though.

  73. I never liked sm for more personal reasons, I was banned as a newbie for asking a question….needless to say I could really care less about anything they put out, but I have heard so much hype about them it’s surprising they failed to provide their customers with easy to use huds…I am absolutely obsessed however with maitreya, such an easy hud to use and the color is always a near perfect match when I put them on.

  74. it’s just ridiculous to pay 2k or more for a pair of horrid shoes without even the opportunity to try the demo. but on the other hand if they would offer demos it’s to be feared that nobody would buy those over-priced ugly pieces of prims anymore.

  75. I concur…..I have many pairs of SM shoes ( from Fashion Shows- so I didn’t have to actually purchase them ) and I can count at least a dozen shoe designers that get it right and do not charge a pixel arm & leg for them, unlike Moody. I would not buy a pair of SM shoes, as I have found the same flaws as Gogo and everyone else, bad bad ankles, hard to match the skin tone, over all to me a poor value for your SL buck. So I am not impressed altho at least Stiletto Moody seems impressed enough with herself for all of us.

  76. I used to shop with SM back in the day when she has the small store, back when she first made the buckle shoes that are so noobish now when I look back at pictures.

I do not shop at SM anymore for the main reason of me not wearing high heels :D but if I did I would still be shopping at SM for the simple fact that EVERY SINGLE dealing I have had with her face to face over the years she has been nothing but kind. That counts from the old store when she would be dancing in the center of the store till last year.

People around me have bought “other” shoes from other stores and they also have problems with skin tones, foot/shape popping threw and everything else. I don’t see the big deal and I have been on SL for 6 years!

I am sorry but to me the way a designer behaves towards their guests IS MOST IMPORTANT to me. SM has been nothing but friendly to all that needs it and I support her for that alone even if I don’t buy her shoes anymore.

People need to just freaking stop bashing designers like this. Its childish! Ok, post what you see wrong but seriously do you need to be so rude about it?!

  77. Gogo, this post is old but I still love it, your honesty is refreshing. SM has to be the most overrated business on SL, the only thing they have is a great marketing person, whoever that is. Not wasting my time saying more about it.

  78. I stumbled across this thread today and I have to say I am relieved. Apparently, I am not stupid when it comes to getting the ankle piece to fit or the skin tone to match on a pair of SM shoes. I can now rest easier at night. :D Seriously though, the ankle strap..huge problem, they look so bad on me (with over an hour of attempted editing) that I now only wear them with pants. It’s a shame they are so expensive, I do find the shoe portion themselves very pretty, the barefeet however…not impressed one bit.

  79. I think one thing when I see someone wearing moody shoes, or hear them making ridiculous statements like “Oh I got my Moody’s on” I think retard. Retarded for getting caught up in the hype of a shoe because of the price tag. The shoes are ok, but it takes more then a red sole and a lot of hype to make me shell out 2k. There are plenty more detailed and classier shoes in SL that are less then half that price. I don’t know whether to point a finger and say shame on Moody for taking advantage of these slow witted followers that shell out enough cash USD for a coffee and a bagel to look like a ghetto track star, or give Moody’s a thumbs up of respect for their psycological marketing. Meh…

  80. Shoes are my biggest headache in SL. I can’t seem to find stuff I like, I do have a few moody fatpacks… but! my LAQ skins that I <3 just don't match…ever.
And AMG was the most epic failure ever, I am still waiting for a reply to my notecard sent in on March 2010 about bling issues…
So since were talking shoes…Anyone got some good LM's?

  81. This explains the current 70% off everything sale – wow, they must be absolutely desperate. I recall when they were adamant that colorsets and new releases would NEVER be discounted – in fact it still says that on the woefully out of date website. Weren’t there gonna be skins too? Perhaps the skin maker they hired has run away – or died of old age; the skins they previewed were soo 2006, laughably bad. They look like cheap latex sex dolls, which is not surprising given sm’s customer base. SLink and Maitreya’s designers must be laughing fit to bust.

    • lol…i thought exactly the same thing. 70 % of everything?! omg she must be really desperate!! Is obvious that their sales have decreased a lot from a year ago. I have read how Moody has refered to other designers using quotation marks in contemptuously way. I’m glad that designers as Maitreya, N-core, Slink and many more have given a kick in her ass. Today, Moody is only a big name, a myth. ( wait to see how the store remains empty after the sale )

    • They had skins? Anyone have any photos of them? I am interested in seeing how they looked.

  82. Coming only 2 weeks after the ‘end of season’ 40% off everything sale – I wonder how the people who bought stuff then – did anyone?? – might feel now? Reducing prices so steeply, so soon after another sale is not the behaviour of a flourishing brand. This also comes after many daily 55% reductions, marketed as a ‘look of the day’ competition, where the prizes cost nothing to award, being simply more pixel shoes.
I just wonder, is this downturn caused in part by the RL recession or is it that SL residents finally see that sm’s products are hugely overpriced, poor quality, unoriginal and simply not worth the lindens?
Taking all these factors into account, and considering the sloppy out of date website, I’m beginning to think that sm has left the building!

  83. Here is just something that i told dancer dallagio herself…Trying to help her business in showing her copies of her shoes being sold in various other shops…I thought it would be a good idea to help her…but she got oh so defensive and never said thank you.
By the way, i don’t understand how stiletto moody skins can match the feet skin?? I mean the lighting is obviously a part of the skin texture itself.

    [20:51] Me: hi again lol

[20:56] Me: no it was yesterday, but the shoe is new.
[20:56] Me: its very similar, except without maryjane style
[20:56] Me: i am just telling you, because the style is the exact same
[20:57] dancer Dallagio: so you found this yesterday
    [20:57] Me: yup…
[20:57] dancer Dallagio: and are now letting me know today :)) ty

(Why would i file an AR or even bother report the person if its only similar?)
[20:58] Me: oh for my friend, its too expensive, and curve is ugly
[20:58] Me: no i didn’t its a big store, and owner isnt there. sorry
[20:59] dancer Dallagio: you just bring down the menu from your top tool bar
    [20:59] dancer Dallagio: help

    [20:59] dancer Dallagio: report abuse
    [20:59] dancer Dallagio: very easy
[20:59] dancer Dallagio: so this is on your land?
[20:59] dancer Dallagio: on _________ properties?
[21:00] Me: its not my land, my boss’s land, they have 2 stores, this is the mainstore though
[21:00] dancer Dallagio: the one you are concierge to?
    [21:00] Me: yp
[21:00] dancer Dallagio: and you did not tell your boss?
    [21:00] dancer Dallagio: mhm
[21:00] Me: i didnt know there is a big problem, its not exact shoe, but same style
[21:00] Me: you can look to see if you want
[21:01] dancer Dallagio: if ir’s not a big problem, then i’m confused why you contacted me
(wow, bitch much? And love how she speaks so foreign in person.)
[21:01] dancer Dallagio: either they are not kosher or they are
(Noone even uses the word Kosher anymore unless they talk about food!)
    [21:01] Me: kosher?
[21:13] dancer Dallagio: google is your friend when terms are unfamiliare
    [21:13] dancer Dallagio: *unfamiliar
[21:13] dancer Dallagio: and this person is not one that is kosher
    [21:20] dancer Dallagio: no
[21:20] dancer Dallagio: she has copied styles, may have copied the foot, and she put a heart on the sole; that is copyrighted
[21:20] Me: good thing i told you then, but no need to be defensive
[21:21] dancer Dallagio: The word kosher has become a part of English slang, a colloquialism meaning proper, legitimate, genuine, fair, or acceptable
[21:21] dancer Dallagio: for your edification
    [21:23] dancer Dallagio: * :)
    [21:23] dancer Dallagio: it’s a jewish expression
[21:24] dancer Dallagio: just as a concierge, you can let your boss know
[21:24] Me: ok, what will he do about it?
    [21:25] dancer Dallagio: your boss?
    [21:25] dancer Dallagio: no idea
[21:25] dancer Dallagio: if it were m y land, i’d boot the guy

After two months..unexpectically I was banned from both sims!!! For no reason aswell…So i would IM and send notecards to maxine89 and dancer…and still no message…so then i sent him a rant about how maitreya has better shoes and whatnot…then he suddenly IMs me about how i’m worthless whatever… and still no explaination on why i was banned. So there ya go..hope this helps you guys on seeing how rude and Dancer Dallagio aka Stiletto moody is.

    • I bought 2 pairs of Moody shoes when they had their 70% off sale. Like Gogo, I too had a hard time color matching the shoes (and the free one stayed in my inventory for the longest until I learned how to use SM’s system). So my friend told me to go to the store to get them fixed. I was expecting something like Bax’s where you go and stand there while the sales rep does her thing and presto! All done! Not exactly…

When I made my inquiry, I spoke with dancer. She seemed nice, but there was something off, almost like since she’s done this so many times anyone should be able to match ankle straps and rgb colors. I felt so noobish :/ And then she disappeared towards the end of the fitting, and I was left to try to see if everything looked okay.

I love my shoes, but seriously wouldn’t pay full price for them because there is too much work to be done to make them look right. N-core is much easier to color match, and not as much headaches.

  84. I stopped buying SM after I emptied my linden account on a pair of the SkyHigh boots. Even on sale at the time, those plus the belt wrap accessories cost me a fortune (over 3k). I wish they would have been trans because I never once wore them as they went up so high, they could have almost gotten me off by walking. Plus the black color looked purple, it was horrible.
I will say that I did email in my distaste for them and they were kind enough to work with me and even send me over a free pair of whatever heels I wanted. But I still never wore those either as Gogo mentioned… the skin matching was horrible and so was the fitting.

Anytime I see SM now, I think of noob strippers… the ones who save all their hard earned lindens to buy their first shiney new pair of prim feet heels… and they always go running to Moody’s! After being in SL for 2 years now, its nice to branch out and find better quality AND priced shoes such as NCore, SLink, Kalnins and Maitreya. Not only with matching skin color, but easier in general for sizing and even color changing options which are a blessing!

Sorry…. Moody’s are a has-been in my eyes, and have stayed that way for over a year now.

  85. lol – the heart on the sole is copyrighted? Bollocks. so not true. sm is over. The skins, if they ever appear, will be hideous, and no-one will wear them except the tragic sex workers on whom sm depends. And still no support for viewer2, cos sm outsources the work and they didn’t get up to speed on alphas. epic fail there. so sm means: big ugly invisiprims, dreadful ankle breaks, harsh textures, crimped toes, photoshopped ads, dear lord they’re bad!

  86. The Launch at Moody’s was horrible today, the new shoes were lack-luster and un-inspiring, the skins were horrible you can find better quality skins at any freebie shop, and just think I had to pay 1l for a demo of that crap. I also just love how Dancer Dallagio/Moody only greets certain customers, how shady and un-professional. If this is the future of Stiletto Moody Shoe’s, then my God its going to be a VERY grim one. I swear when I first saw those ugly new shoes/skins, I was waiting for Ashton Kutcher jump from behind the sign and yell, YOU JUST GOT PUNKED!

    • I saw the demo skin of Moody’s today, it was horrendous 8000 lindens, not a cat in hells chance of selling it for 800 lindens in my opinion

      • 8000 for how many skins? Surely not each? I saw one review of the skins and they look harsh, with too dark contrasts in the mouth and nose, and a curiously opaque ‘heavy make up’ look. When you contrast with Laqroki, Tuli, Adam n Eve and so many others, they are just not high quality.

  87. How much are the skins, and will Gogo be reviewing them? I doubt sm will send a sample pack LOL. But het, wow, stop the presses!!!! DEMO’s? The skins have demos? The shoes I guess still do not!

  88. Certainly i think that the launch at Moody’s has been a big disappointment to many people (i was surprised to see only 9 avatars in the store after few hours of the group notice). Skins of low quality if you compares with great skins as Laqroki or Redgrave, among others. New shoes with the same problems, heavily scripted, break ankle…
Of course i’m sure that all the Moody fans (nowadays very few) will find the new cosmetics and shoes adorables, OMG if is stuff from Stiletto Moody must be fabulous!! ;-)

    • The Shoe Zaha looks similar to Shanti of Maitreya. Even though the hud with Maitreya is brilliant I only ever have to use it for changing nail polish as it always fits and matches my skin fabulous.

I asked about the high boots quite some time ago, and was told by Dancer if I want to wear my shape, which I have done for over 3 years now a body doubles one I had to forget about those sky high boots, which I did, and am certainly glad I did as it saved me spending any more money at Moody’s after the comments I received.

The pics for the ‘True Beauty’ skin in no way resemble the demo skin I saw. Looks like dirty marks around nose, and the lips lacking shape as in the pic. I will stick to the skins that are fabulous from many creators in SL. How can anyone be so greedy to ask 8000 for that. If that is True Beauty please point whoever wrote that in the direction of a Spectacles/Glasses Store.

  89. By the way, someone have seen the avi face of Dancer Dallagio? she was wearing the “True Beauty” skin, with extra big eyes like dishes and “joker” smile on the face, believe me was really scary, she looks like a noob. I cannot understand how a store manager doesn’t care about her appearance when she’s wearing the product that sell, perhaps is just a matter of bad taste. Regarding “Zaha” shoes, i think the same, looks very similar than Maitreya Shanti… but in my opinion Maitreya offers better quality of sculpts/ textures, better fit and no problems like broken ankles ( and are cheaper! ). “True Beauty” lips are terrible, i tried to fit my shape to the skin demo and was absolutely impossible. Good luck Greedy Moody, you will need it. And thanks Maitreya,Slink,N-core,Bax to make wonderful shoes for fair price

  90. As for the new Stiletto Moody Zaha’s looking like Maiteryas Shanti heels as if though Moody was possibly copying Maiterya’s heels?

I have news for you Maiterya copies it’s heels from RL heels and boots. If you knew more about RL fashion you would know this. With that said…here are just a few.

Regarding Dancer Dallagio. She is professional, works very hard, knows her stuff and Moody should be grateful to have her. She works her ass off practically night and day for that company. Now, if it were me haha…I would be fired a long time ago….so GB her.

I’m a Shoe Whore in RL as well as SL. I personally love the fact that I can get fashions and accessories here that are comparable in design to RL items.

There are going to be both haters of Moody and Lovers of Moody. You know the saying.. a haters going to hate..

    • Who mentioned the heels, not me, it’s the styling of the straps I was likening to Maitreya Shanti FYI.

Of course Dancer works hard, like telling me not to bother buying Sky High Boots as if I won’t change my shape they would be of no use to me, and would never fit my shape. She did good saving me money. So of course I have to thank Dancer for saving me money in SL.

I own shoes in SL from lots of creators I cannot even tp when wearing Moody’s with accessories, so very rarely wear them.

    • Jeepers golly gosh Goli – so ya mean when sm copies rl fashions that’s ok, but when maitreya do it, whoa there!! LMAO – sure, maitreya copy rl designs, just exactly as sm do – that’s not the point at issue really. Thing is, sm lies, brags, boasts – the whole ‘we were first with sculpted shoes’ – LIAR, ‘we made the first sculpted foot’ – LIAR, and the endless threats to AR the ‘copycats’ – PMSL . Also, the skins are POOR QUALITY and displayed an a truly hideous shape in the store. There are no updates for previous styles, so if you want the ‘oh my gaad, I can hardly believe it, skin matching is sooooo eeeezeeee now, we are teh greatest of them all’ well, you’ll have to buy one of the deeply uninspiring ‘new’ styles (eeew, I’d rather not, thx) otherwise you’ll have to color match as before. And, seriously moody – only just now are you getting with alphas?!! Sheesh dude – most shoe stores in sl have had those for months!! btw – the website is beginning to get cobwebs – when did you last update – 2 years ago?! you’re over, you’re ugly (that would be inside as well as out). Serious bloggers won’t touch moody with a bargepole now, it’s embarrassing. But lots of fun to point and laugh when you were so hateful and so underhand and so dishonest yourselves. Yeah, sm are the biggest haters, because what they hate the most is the truth.

    • From a RL and SL Shoe Whore to another RL and SL Shoe Whore:
God bless Maitreya for bringing us RL fashions without breaking our ankles nor over scripting our delicate feet, for letting us match our skins easily, and for allowing us to try her shoes with a nice, soooooo Real Life Style FREE DEMO (yay! I try “demos” in RL, I swear!)

  91. I only found this blog post by chance and I am so grateful I don’t feel like a lunatic anymore. It’s the first time I see people moaning about the “so fabulous” Stiletto Moody creations, and I thougth I was the weirdo for being unable to find that “perfection” on them whatsoever. Anyway, and talking about the so expected new releases, I am completely shocked.
I agree with the previous comments about the fact that Zaha shoes are an attempt of copy of Maitreya Shanti shoes. I own Shanti and would never change them for those Zaha. The textures are no way as nice as Maitreya’s, I can’t get a SM demo to see if I like the effect of the shoes or not, or a demo of how the HUD (if there is any) works to match my skin, and i absolutely dislike the massive platform in SM Zaha shoes, they are ok for a funny Drag Queens or Ladies of the Night times, though.
But then I tried “True Beauty” skin demo… and I have no words. In my very early days in SL I worn the skin all of us can find in any freebies store, called “Heaven’s skin”… Well, I prefer to wear Heaven’s skin again, but you will never see me dead in that “True Beauty” thing, for goodness sake how can someone anounce for months that is working in a skins line, then come up with… THAT?? And charge 8000 Lindens for a fatpack of it?? HAHAHAHHAA, for sure I must say thanks to Stiletto Moody for making me have such a f’g laugh… my belly and cheeks hurts still. It looks like she used Eloh Elliot templates (which are far nicer than SM skin… in fact Eloh templates are nice!) and f’kd them up till come with that monstrosity, yet she has the cheek to call it True Beauty and charge 8000L (more than anyone, that I know).
I’ll stick in buying my skins and shoes far from SM store… Visited yesterday, no wonder it was only me there and a 12 days old avatar standing around.

  92. Stiletto Moody Shoe’s are OVER! So Jonty Glaser aka Dancer Dallagio aka Stiletto Moody, along with his MANY other alts need to just face the fact that they have fallen off. The shoe’s suck, the customer service sucks, and they have all been busted and exposed as liars. There is a reason why you hardly ever see anyone on the grid in their shoes, and that reason is because there are better quality shoe’s for a cheaper price out there for us to swoon over. SM needs to step up their game or STEP OFF! And as for the alt Dancer Dallagio, my goodness can one avatar be more horrbile to look at? With all the money SM has made, you would think he’d upgrade that ugly bish. And I can’t beleive that she, he, IT had the audacity to show up to the launch looking like that, and then tried to throw shade on customers? Just looking at her in those ugly wedges and terrible skin made me want to barf. Doesn’t he know that the “Tranny” look is not hot? LAME..LAME..LAME..Lame skins, lame shoe’s, lame ugly rude alt Dancer Dallagio, lame laggy ass sim, lame over priced ugly skin and shoes that break your ankles that you can’t teleport in. Most of all, Lame for SM sending out group notices trying to explain where he got the idea for those ugly ass skins from.

    GAME OVER
    You lose

    • Being a transsexual myself, i find it oddly offensive that you reffer him to a tranny, please if you want to make names, call him a him…And the “tranny” look is hot…Just his skins look like that one old 90’s model IMAN…The lips are horribly slanted and the nose is just so cakey with foundation… No glitz nor glamour, just a pile of glued up makeup.

      • I interpreted Barbie comments to just mean it is a man trying to make feminine items and failing miserably. That is my opinion too.

I doubt anyone will want to go to SM these days so closing the place to members only means nothing.

I would not want to wear that skin even for a joke.

I cannot tp in SM shoes so no longer wear them. Waste of money.

SM is dead and almost buried in my opinion.

  93. After a week of the “biggest launch”, they have now all his NEW skins 25% OFF (for group members). No comment…

  94. On another note…being that Stiletto moody, aka jonty Glaser making over $1,000,000.00USD widely..Shouldn’t he be reporting his virtual income to the irs?
I mean for heavens sake..if you aren’t going to make yourself look beautiful…and not make your real life self beautiful, what’s the point of having all that money? Going to invest in some ‘real’ art classes?

    • I don’t know. Living well perhaps? Buying food? Paying rent? Buying a house? None of those seem logic?

      • I’m using an alt to protect the innocent taxpayer that is my main account ROFL. I’d be extra pissed to know that good ole jonty doens’t pay the IRS when I’m stuck with more than 20,000 USD in payable taxes anually since I’ve run my business in SL. I don’t make a million a year-but I do rake in 6 figures from my fashion brand and I pay my frikken taxes like every flipping citizen should. I SO hope that’s nothing but tawdry speculation that he doesn’t…

  95. okay i had to go into SM tonight and see what all the fuss about this skin was about. i wrote a long time ago that i had got the free pair in this blog as well as a gift from my cousin (who was an escort and spent thousands there, and since her and i no longer speak i have never been graced with seeing another stiletto moody creation again!).

so i went there. and the first person i saw there had on shoes from 2005 era. i couldn’t believe she could possibly afford them, but as i looked at her profile (to see if she was a noob) i noticed she was two years old and charged 500L for a psychic reading, so maybe she could. i also noticed BLING on the shoes. ??!!

but then i got to the skin, picked myself up a pack and took pictures. i’m sorry if you were insulted svetlana, but this skin did make me look like a _bad_ tranny, and i only say that because i look like a man wearing garish makeup, hence the ‘bad’. nothing against some of the beautiful sisters i see out there.

    examples below.. ughers!

my FREE dutch touch gift vs. the beautiful whatever skin (shape is my own)

the skins compared again with the SM body shape…… !

  96. Now the latest shoes 50% OFF ? And all barefeet shoes for 650 L$?
this sounds like a serious crisis…

  97. You are so right… I have spent a lot of money on SM i love the older styles but the bares are rubbish. I really think it is about time this was exposed. Why? Because it is just poor sculptie. I am silly to have spent what i did and now the likes of Maitreya produce such more beautiful shoes. SM upgrade and sort out your issues and I will gladly repost.Until then please don’ t go to this trader.

  98. I have made a very big mistake saw SM sale and thought maybe they have improved with resizer and maybe colour choices for heels, soles etc but I am absolutely upset that I spent the sale price on SM shoes yet again, please someone smack me in the face if I ever say I am going to SM again.

  99. I am annoyed at myself Fabienne I bought 2 fat packs will I ever learn that is my last visit to SM guaranteed. The shoes are not even as good as they were years ago, what has he done, no resizer, no colour choice for heels, soles only for the shoes they look a real heap of rubbish. How I wish I had not succumbed to the big 75% sale notice. Ahhhhhh hit me hit me someone.

  100. I have to wholeheartedly agree with all the points made about how awful SM shoes are. I never liked them but a few friends said that until I owned a pair I wouldn’t know how good they were, so during the last sale I bought 2 pairs. More fool me! Even at sale prices I got ripped off. The ankle issue drives me nuts and I can’t match the skin at all. The up side is that I introduced the former SM addict to N-Core and now she prefers those to SM.

  101. The current ‘look of the day 75% discount’, and the ‘daily dash 85% discount’ clearly speak of nothing but desperation. The poor reception that the skins got, given that there was not a single positive review from an independent source, and the good reviews cam from people who had been gifted the entire range!!, coupled with the continuing lack of alphas, uninspired (ripped off) designs, poor build quality, the toes still have that pinched look at the ends – ah the list is endless. This brand is heading for close down fast, unless Jonty keeps it going as a personal vanity project. which is actually all it ever was.

  102. I’ve spent tons of money on SM shoes over the years, so much i lost track, while i absolutely love shoes from Maitreya and other famous much less priced places, i can never seem to have luck with the ankle on them, with SM shoes the good thing is i can actually adjust the ankles to fit my shape proper. I have rather thick legs and the ankles almost always have to be covered in a boot or ankle strap, anything without one just won’t fit. If i knew a way to work around that I’d love to know but so far i’ve yet to find a solution and I refuse to change my shape just for shoes. So with that issue it kind of forces me to have to buy SM’s shoes and waste the money, do i think the shoes are worth such hefty prices? Not really but seems I have to make do with them unless someone who makes gorgeous shoes helps us thicker shapes out with the ankle issues.

  103. Not only to mention the horrible amount of scripts inside them !!! Buying shoes for 2000+ lindens is just wastage of money !! no matter how good they look, unless they are giving a date with Halle Berry along with those shoes !!!

  104. I have to say that after swearing off Moodys, the 85% off flash sale caught my eye and so I headed over to pick up a pair of Bette’s….lord…why did I not remember the horrid ankle issues with SM shoes. Yeah they look great when you are standing still, but as soon as you move…bam….the ankle part moves independently and your shoe looks like doo doo now.

I cant believe that at the prices SM charges, they STILL dont have ankle lock or alphas. I mean seriously?…get withe the program SM.
I’ve spent many a linden there in the past, but I will not let another sale sway me…I’m sticking to MAitreya, N-Core, and NArdcotix….all of which are a hell of a lot better than SM.

On a curious note, I wonder if anyone actually sends NCs of complaints about the shoes to them?

  105. Funny enough, SM hasn’t been seen anywhere lately…. and Shoe Fair 2011? Awwww, whats wrong? No one likes you anymore? LOL
I’ve only saw one blog posting the skins. Don’t ever see anyone wearing the shoes anymore unless they’re under 60 days old.
They should make their items transfer…. I have some I want to give away that I’ve NEVER worn!! I’d like to make some noobs day!

  106. I’ve had a recent run in with SM lately that doesn’t have to do with the poor quality of the product but on the fact that their Look of the Day discount was never given. Poor craftsmanship aside, their Customer Service is nothing. According to Dancer is it because she hasn’t been paid by SM in over a year. So if we combine poor quality of work, promised discounts never given, dozens of notecards unanswered, horrible customer service… I will no long do business with SM.

  107. Old blogpost and yet still relevant… a friend of mine has just bought some SM crappy things that you attach to your feet (did not get sympathy from me, can’t understand why she went in the first place) and sure enough, they’re shit. She complained many times and asked for help and never got a reply. Poor thing, money wasted. People WILL understand, eventually, that you’d better spend your money on designers like SLink (AMAZING customer service from designer herself) and Maitreya. Valium, anyone?

  108. And they have lost a sim – there’s only the ‘bare’ one now. Apparently sm was asked to stop sending mega packs of freebies to certain bloggers and groups as it was getting embarrassing that they were never going to blog them!

  109. I used to buy SM’s but I stopped back in 2009 after purchasing shoes which were so overscripted and compiled with mono that teleporting was just near on impossible. It took 3 months to get a refund. I was told “it was all the other scripts I was wearing”, I was told to contact the scripter myself (which I did) but that’s hardly owning the problem. Augren had no interest in addressing it which would have simply required a delete option or even just recompiling to LSL and not mono.

Failing to listen to customers isn’t a great way to do business and i’ve never seen so many merchants of what should be good quality products, receive so many 1 star ratings on Marketplace.

  110. Stiletto Moody is interested in only one thing: making money. That goes for not paying employees to ripping off customers with shoddy workmanship and not caring about any issues. It is always the fault of SL and never their shoes. Just compare one of the later ones with the older ones and you will see the quality is not even a concern anymore; it’s all about the money. Getting Stiletto to reply about a rebate or helping will get you nowhere. It’s all about the sale and not the customer. Take your business elsewhere. Every 1 star rating is absolutely deserved. No wonder the customer service person left (I heard she was not paid for a very long time before she left).

  111. Stiletto Moody.

    1. No rebate will actually happen during the sale anymore. It’s a trick marketing scheme … out of desperation. Mind bogglingly stupid really, as he will just LOSE customers and create an awful reputation for himself.
    2. He will never EVER answer note cards, emails etc. although he does come online to lure more people to his shop with false advertising.
    3. His outdated shoes still don’t have an ankle lock script! He claims they have alpha support now. They DON’T. The only addition to the shoe menu, apart from the full range of nail polish colors, is the ability to remove the scripts.

Lastly, 4. On his Twitter account, he now claims to have invented the precursor of the Apple App Store and that the idea must have been stolen from him. Will no one recognize his genius mind? *sigh* NO COMMENT.

    • 1. Good luck getting a rebate period. He just says it’s SL failing or some other rot and never send it. He knows nothing about SL and just thinks he is still the “God” he made himself out to be. Stupid? Yep.
      2. The God himself deign to answer mere notecards of problems or issues? When is that freezing over happening? That will be eons before he will care a thing about anyone other than himself.
      3. His shoes are old, not updated, do not have alphas, do not have ankle lock (he only found out about buying one from his former employee), and you cannot remove scripts. Sexy noob walk anyone? You can only remove a FEW of the scripts; the really tacky ones remain without the ability to remove them. Teleport failures? Never the fault of his shoes…it’s SL again.
      4. That would be that God complex projecting his own thievery from his employee and his customers onto others.

Sadly there are more comments than there is room to write them. The guy is a total loser who lies, cheats, and steals.

  112. All I know is I bought a pair of these over-priced shoes. They’re okay, but NO WAY worth 1500-2000 L. HELL no. There are far better shoe creators out there. You can get gorgeous N-Core shoes for a 1/3 the cost, and they are VERY easy to fit and adjust the color.
It’s NOT a status symbol to wear over-priced shoes if they look like total garbage on your feet.
