&Bean Pillow Skins & LaGyo, my new obsession

Alright…… my last fashion post of the year. I’m so happy it’s SKINS, because that’s probably my biggest obsession in Second Life.

The new &Bean skins are so cute, they’re more hand-drawn than the skins I normally wear but I really like how the skin came together and I like how it looks on me. Each skin includes freckles/no freckles, and 3 brows version. I’m wearing just the Bleached Brows and Small Brows below:

Each skin costs $1,000L or $8,000L for a fatpack of 10 skins (so you get 2 extra if you buy the pack) but I bought 3 cos these are my top choices. They also happen to be the first 3 makeups – One, Two, and Three.

I’m wearing a couple of things found @ the Designers United 3 event — the Ohmai ‘Dorothy Corsetted’ top in Vintage Mint color, and golden accessories from LaGyo. I’m TOTALLY obsessed with the LaGyo ‘Hand Binocular’ I might permanently wear it everywhere in SL!

I made the Wasted Fashionista pose set two years ago when nobody had “wasted” poses to use for some fun post-party pictures. I’ve re-uploaded them with a slower ease so they will look smoother when you play them in-world.

Is my avatar too short?

I love ball gowns but when I put them on, the skirt is often much too long for my avatar. Is my avatar too short or are designers making these gowns for taller “model sizes”? The height script thing says my avatar is at 5′11 and even taller with heels on.

My suggestion to dress makers: please make your skirts for Short and Tall avatars! Provide two lengths so I don’t have to mod the skirt myself. When I tried to resize the skirt for the gown I’m wearing here, the sculpted bustle disappeared into my torso, so I had to drag it forward and modify the bustle parts to fit. It’s not too complicated, but it would be nice if it just worked right out of the box, cos there are lots of people who would find this simple task difficult.

This is why I don’t blog ball gowns more often, cos the skirt annoys me. A couple of brands are just my size, but some of them are made for avatars with Amazon proportions.

CSR WinterChoice 2009

It’s not too late to get your CSR WinterChoice 2009 cards stamped! The event runs from December 20th, 2009 unti January 18th, 2010. Visit the official WinterChoice website to get all the info.

If you have multiple cards to stamp, attach them to various points on your body or use the ‘attach to HUD’ option and line them up on your screen. Stamping is a breeze (approx. 30 mins) but I’m so thankful my friends sent me fully-stamped ones so I can just go get the goodies!

BAX Leather Belt

BAX has just released these sculpted leather belts and they’re scripted to change so many individual parts! Each belt has 3 colors scripted into the menu.. for example, the White belt has Pink, White and Off-White included. The belt is also scripted to change the metal to Gold or Silver, and change the buckles to any custom color you want. And if you like glow? You can set the glow intensity too!

If you own a pair of BAX boots, you’ll know just how much scripting goes into BAX products. These leather belts will match the Prestige Leather boots perfectly. <3

I’m paring the BAX belts with some darling camisks from PanJen.
