Poll for fellow bloggers

/Edit/ Ok, I’ve added two more answer choices to the poll. You can now choose ‘All of the above’ or ‘Some of the above’ as your answer if it applies more than the other choices.

Thanks to Peter Stindberg for the idea for today’s poll. Sometimes I get really great ideas off my friends’ plurks discussions. My timeline amuses & inspire me. <3

/end Edit/

Lots of people ask me why I don’t blog (insert random brand) and usually I have really good reasons (see answers 1-4 in the poll below) why I don’t feature them at all, or rarely. I do have the occasional brands that fall under the “I don’t blog them at all cos they’ve pissed me off” but that option is not available for the poll below.

Dear fellow bloggers, why don’t you blog a particular brand?

P.S. If you think the “fashion blogging clique” exists, you’re probably right. On some levels, people tend to blog their friends, or designers they’re aware of. That’s just called good marketing (see answer 3).

  1. I’m new to this whole blogging thing, but I just blog what i wear and what I like. If i cant get it to fit (im sucky at editing stuff) then I skip it. There are some brands out there that I have a hell of a time trying to make fit and look right, so i don’t spend my money at there stores.

  2. I’ve been blogging for a very long time….when blogging was still fairly new and there wasn’t the massive number of bloggers there is now, I used to get so much stuff sent to me, and I decided I was a review blog, so I’d blog both good, bad and in between. But after a while I decided I hated blogging the ugly, because it was hard to find anything good to say! So then I switched to only stuff I like.

I chose Option 2. Though there is a *lot* of ugly on the various feeds, and I wouldn’t blog something I thought was ugly, the “not my style” answer suits me more because I am particular on what I like to wear.

  3. Once upon a time, many moons ago, there was a pair of bloggers who would review pretty much whatever was dropped on them, good or bad, whether it was skins, hair, clothing, what have ye. And if the reviewed item was “bad”, well, they would tell the public *why* said reviewed item was bad. i.e., The clothing seams didn’t match, the hair had flicker issues, the skin was sloppily made, and so on.

Maybe I’m not reading the right blogs or entries, in which case, please don’t flame me over my ignorance. And I am aware of some blogs that are geared towards being critical. But overall, I don’t see a lot of entries that state, “I don’t like this and here are my three reasons”. No catfights, no insults, no drama, just good, honest, constructive criticism, telling the community why, in the writer’s humble opinion, this is Not A Well-Made Item.

And heck, I blog! So maybe I should put my money where my mouth is! Maybe I should get off *my* arse and give honest opinions to the world about why I don’t like So-and-So’s product(s), yadda yadda.

Again, maybe I am dead wrong, and entries like those *do* occur with more frequency than I am aware, in which case I’ll shut up on the issue LOL! 🙂

  4. Wow! I like this poll however my answer doesn’t belong to any of the above given choices. For me, I pretty much blog almost anything mainly because I love taking photos, doing model showcase and marketing [freebies or not.] It is something I do for myself for fun. But if ever there will come a “Don’t-Blog-This-Particular-Brand” for me, the only reason will be something personal. Like if a designer has disheartened me or bad-mouthed about me which is very unlikely. I understand the business interest in people but I also want to make it clear that I do not get paid to blog, so I will reserve “that right” to showcase an item on my own way.

  5. I chose Option 1, simply because I blog for myself. If I don’t like the style, I’m not going to buy it. Thus far, there’s only one designer (who shall remain nameless) who I will never blog or buy from and there are some items in his/her store that I’ve yearned for. I lurk on a forum that this person participates in and some rather… racist comments were put forth by him/her. I’ve been utterly turned off ever since. Not that they have a freakin’ clue who I am or miss my patronage 🙂
