I’m a terrible terrible skin whore. Last week, when I heard that Laqroki released a new skin at Project FUR Japan, I immediately went to purchase it. I was surprised to discover that this new Maria skin pack (4 makeups) costs only $1,000L, and 100% of the proceeds are donated. I don’t even know if this skin will be sold in store after the event, so you should get it while it’s available!! JUST IN CASE! I would cry if I missed out on this stunning skin.

AOHARU released so many new clothing pieces and shoes this week. I put together a cute little outfit that I thought complements this dark Brown hair color very well. The Aoharu DotChiffonShirt&Skirt outfit in (White) comes with everything worn above. I paired it with a pair of ANEXX AnkleLaceUp Boots in Brown.

Last week I saw a teaser image of the new Linnea skins from Laqroki and I waited patiently all week for it to be released! Finally, she’s here!!! I’m such a huge fan of this new face, the lips are so full and gorgeous, and there are Light and Dark brows included.

Have you been to Cara Bella? This newly launched brand from Piper Ashdene (formerly Aden Breyer) has just released the Arianna skins in 5 skin tones, and 8 makeups. I’ve been seeing teasers of this skin for a week now, so I was quite excited to try it on myself.

Arianna also comes with brow options, and cleavage enhancers & dehancers tattoos.

I did notice that the “Enhancer” shading is much too dark for it to look natural, but the natural cleavage (on the skin itself) and the Dehancer is just right.

The body on Arianna was decent, except for this large seam on the inner thigh and a very faint one on the torso. This area must be incredibly hard for skin creators cos I noticed that many brands have this issue.

Overall, I like this skin but it needs some improvement. The lips corners are shaded too dark, I had to reduce my Lip Fullness slider to fix that area (but I want bigger lips!!). I also didn’t like the  Blonde brows as much as I like this Dark Brows color. Lots of designers simply cannot do convincing Blonde brows. And I hope Piper makes changes to the Enhancer shading! That’s pretty much all of my critique… this is a skin review, after all.

I had a feeling that many people would be blogging this Tuli Zoe skin (from Skin Fair) so I waited awhile to do my own post. I think that overall, this is a very nice skin with plenty of options to mix-and-match your own look.

I wish the Pale tone was more pale for Blondes, but if you wanted to do a beachy Blonde look, Zoe does have nice highlights and shine on the face that works well together.

I love the range of colors offered for the brows tattoos, but I didn’t like how they looked once the colors were darker than Light Brown. The Brown/Black brows looks unnatural, like it was drawn on with an eyeliner pencil. I guess they look more “harsh” than the Blonde and Bleach brows (my favorites).

The lipsticks options are superb, they’re available in 12 natural colors and has a nice subtle glossy look to them. These lipstick tattoos will only work with Tuli’s skins, cos they have some “skin” texture around the lips. If you find a skin tone from another brand that is a close match, it might work — but the lipstick tattoo is not cropped closely all around.

Overall this skin is pretty cute. I realize that not everyone is quite as picky as I am, so give Zoe a try, you may like it :)

I’m a big fan of skins that are for Blondes. The new Redgrave (Fairy Skin) Avie is a gorgeous face with beautiful complexion. I love everything about this light skin tone, and there are plenty of gorgeous “fairy” makeups to choose from!

Light Brows | Dark Brows

Each skin pack includes 16 makeups in Light and Dark brows. I think both brow colors are gorgeous, and very natural looking. Though I choose to wear this skin with Blonde hair, I think it will work just as beautifully with Dark Brown hair.

Redgrave – Avie (all 16 makeups)

Extra features available for the Avie skin includes: Breast Enlarger (tattoo), Lipstick tattoo in Cherry and Orange, prim NailsLong Fairy, a Hair base in Powder and a Fairy Glitter hairstyle also in Powder.

The Vanity Universe Skin Fair is opened now!

Perhaps I’m not the best blog to read if you want complete skin fair coverage this year. I’ve seen a lot of good, bad, and plain ugly skins over this past weekend. I’ll try to feature just a few of my “must haves” from the entire fair over this week. So far, I’ve found a few skins worth checking out!

When I did a massive inventory cleaning awhile ago, I deleted my entire Lara Skins folder. I had a couple of skins that I’ve purchased from Lara Skins but wore maybe once or twice? While the faces were always cute, the skins lacked options and were also not well made (had seams, the skin texture is grainy, etc).

I passed by Lara Skins several times before finally grabbing a demo, and after determining that I could work with this face, I gave it a chance. I thought Ava was pretty cute, and the price is attractive — $1900L fatpack of 5 skins with hair base, dark brows, a cleavage enhancer (on undershirt layer, not available on tattoo), and five additional tattoo makeups that includes smokey eyes, pink blush, and three eyeshadows. This skin has a pretty face, the body is OK (some area of the legs and overall I think it’s grainy) but I think this is an improvement for Lara Skins since the last time I checked it out.

These dark brows are OK, but I prefer lighter brows, so I wore the Lara Hurley Claire blonde eyebrows over the Ava skin. The blonde Claire brows tattoo is sold with the Claire skins pack, and not included with Ava. If you purchase an Ava skin pack (and don’t already own Claire), you might be able to ask Lara Hurley for the tattoo brows for free :)

Putting together my look today was easy, I wanted something Brown to go with this gorgeous new Spring necklace  and Spring deer headpiece from LaGyo.

LeLutka – Tiana (Base Skin with Light & Dark Brows)

The third annual Vanity Universe Skin Fair is almost here! I’ve always looked forward to skin fair (there’s quite a few of them in SL) if they’re organized well and the designers have NEW stuff.

I know some fairs don’t require that designers have something new, but I think it’s really exciting when there is new skin debuting at the fair, rather than just a new tone of an existing skin.

If you’re a frequent reader of this blog, you know that I just <3 LeLutka skins! LeLutka is on a roll this year with two new faces so far (Kit and Gem) and this third one, Tiana will be debuting at the fair.

Tiana comes with Light and Dark brows, a pair of LeLutka 2011 Lashes (Curl), Breast Enhancer tattoo, Blonde and Dark Hairbase, Eye Bags tattoo, and a Base skin is included in every pack. There are four makeups to start, but I’m sure there will be more makeups released at a later date.

I’ve been wearing the Golden tone since Minnu changed her skin tones slightly, but today I tried on Hush (it’s lighter) and I really like it on me. It goes with this particular shade of Platinum Blonde from Maitreya pretty well, but I tend to change my skin tone depending on whichever hair brand I’m wearing.

Here’s a preview of the upcoming LeLutka Gem skin that will be released this Friday. If you’re a fan of the Kit skin released about two weeks ago, you will love Gem! Between Kit and Gem, I totally adore the Gem skin on my shape more, though the face is similar.

Have you noticed more skin designers are selling “skin packs” now, rather than selling individual skins? LeLutka has moved towards this direction by selling packs of skins that includes all the options so you can wear it alone or as a base and purchase add-on makeup packs to customize your look.

The new Gem skins will be sold in two packs of four makeups each. Each pack also includes a base skin no makeup so it can be worn underneath add-on makeup packs very easily. This pack of 12 tattoo lipsticks for Gem are sold separately, but they may work on Kit and other skins too (demo first!).

I’ll try to show the other add on packages at another time, but they’re absolutely stunning! There will be eye gems, fancy feather lashes, and eyeliners released on Friday as well.

Hi, I’m Lash. When the new face of Curio, Jasmine came out over the weekend, Gogo asked me to take some pics to show the new face in its awesomeness. I hope more designers create these sort of diversely ethnic faces. It captures the elaborate demographic we have on the grid. And, for me, Jasmine doesn’t disappoint.

I don’t regularly blog anything. So sorry if I’m a bit modest here. ^ There’s the infamous,  bootylicious-maximus Curio butt which I always thought was kind of a trademark. My favourite feature of Jasmine is the nose. No more “fatpack” is offered with the full set of makeups per tone. Now it’s a “Megapack” for $L3k which offers all the makeup sets in ALL the tones. Pretty good deal if you like getting more than one skintone.

Each makeup set is priced at $L1k if you don’t want to megapack it. I’m sporting the Pure makeup medley with tattoo moles from cheLLe and Lashes from Lelutka. There are 6 makeup set to choose from all in all. As usual, they come in Light/Dark, and freckles/no freckles options.

LeLutka is releasing the Kit skin tomorrow, finally! Although I have been teasing you guys with the Gem skin, Kit will be released before Gem. Kit and Gem are “sisters” so they have very similar features with a few differences. I prefer the brows and nose on Gem, but if you’re a fan of dark brows and that button-nose look, you’ll like Kit more.

It’s too bad Kit/Gem are not being released at the same time, so you can’t really compare ‘em yet.

LeLutka Kit comes with 8 makeups, dark hair base version, breast enhancer, and a pair of gorgeous sculpted prim lashes that is scripted to change 6 different color.

If I had a dollar for every time someone asks me about my eyes, I would have a lot of dollars. Seriously. These new LeLutka Ellis eyes are beautiful and so realistic. I am very picky about eyes but I also like to change my color/style often so I’m definitely happy there’s a new set to play with.

I seriously can’t imagine wearing this new Dutch Touch Megan skin any other way except with big wavy Platinum Blonde hair and Princess jewelry. I’ve said it numerous times before that I think Dutch skins are more suited for Brunette hair colors, but this new face is BLONDE, BLONDE, BLONDE!!! It’s beautiful! <3

These brows are gorgeous! There are Blond, Brown, and Black eyebrows included with each skin.

LG Pd’A has just released the new Dumah skin in six skin tones and 8 makeups. This skin also includes Light, Dark and Red brows, hair base, a prim hair attachment, and cleavage enhancer.

Shown above is all 8 makeups in the Lumineux skin tone.

Tuli remodeled her sim (it’s on the ground now!) and also released a couple of new faces. I tried on all of them, and settled on this Emma skin as my favorite cos it just works for me. I’m wearing Emma in Fair tone with Light brows, which should work with Blonde hair but I think it’s more suited for Gingers!

Each skin is sold by tone and by brows color — so although this skin has Light, Copper, Brown and Black brows available, you won’t get all of them in a single pack. I guess this is OK for people who stick to one hair color but I like to hop around but I don’t think that I would purchase a new pack for every single brow colors I want. The skins are $2500L per tone/per brows. Dear Tuli, please release brows on tattoo layer?

Christmas in SL is just so exciting. Designers are giving us gifts — how amazing is that? All of my favorite brands have something new, something free, or something very cheap for sale, and that makes me one happy girl.

I’ve been wishing for a new Laqroki skin and got my wish when Laqrki released the new Vilda skin and also sent out a group gift!! The group gift is a free Vilda skin with holiday makeup in all tones. I’m sure you know about it, but if you don’t, it is free in the subscribo!

The new Vilda skin is just everything I’ve always wanted rolled into one skin. I like that this can be both a Blonde skin or a Brunette skin cos it comes with two brows option.

I found the perfect comfy Christmas Day outfit to lounge in and try on all the newness in SL. The new mon tissu Lollia Tank Top and Balcon Lounge Pants are so comfy and goes perfectly well with my new Maitreya Scrunched PrimSocks. You don’t need shoes when you’re lounging around :)

Exciting skin news!! Curio is releasing the Ice Queen skin and it has tattoo layer brows and lipstick colors! I think this is the first set of tattoo makeups from Curio and it’s definitely much anticipated cos I think Gala Phoenix does some of the best makeups in SL!

The new Ice Queen skins has 6 makeups (2 versions each) and Light/Dark version for each skin tone:

There are 6 tattoo lipsticks; these are so very glossy!

I think this skin is gorgeous but for some reason the nose doesn’t look quite right on me. I’m not sure if it’s my shape or cos I use shadows, but I think the nostril area doesn’t fit well on the avatar’s mesh (see the image below). Is it just me? Does the nostril look strange to anyone else? Try this skin and let me know what your thoughts are!

I’m a sucker for a great Red lipstick. When Bella di Notte released this new Charli skin, I fell in love with the makeups right away, especially this Red lipstick (#7) skin.

The new Charli skins comes with 8 makeups, light and dark brows, and several more options on tattoo layer — like cleavage, eyeliners, and eyelashes.

How gorgeous are these brows? The skins works beautifully with Blonde or Brunette hair colors.

The new Aegyo skin from Mozz is so pretty! This skin is youthful, and offers plenty of options for a mere $850L per fatpack. I am surprised to see that all of the base skins have no eyebrows, but you can wear the brows as an add-on tattoo layer (3 choices are included).

There are 9 makeups and 9 lip colors in every pack, plus a teeth tattoo layer.

These are a few of my favorite lipstick colors!

I think the Mozz teeth tattoo is pretty nice, and will work on other SL skins too.

When SL teeth first arrived, they looked like beaver teeth, so a lot of people shied away from them, but these latest release from some of my favorite SL skin makers are definitely more sexy. Although they definitely look great from the front, I still think that texture teeth is ‘horsey’ from the side, unfortunately. :(

Dutch Touch has 3 new skins out and a couple of makeup sets for each skin. I tried them on and settled on this newest Fay face, cos I liked the tattoo lipstick choices and I think the brows are just perfect.

I like that Dutch Touch has just one Basic skin for each face, and sells tattoo makeup packs as add-ons. I hope more skin designers considers selling skins this way, to offer customers more customization and also — the base skin was reasonable priced at $1250L and the lipsticks were $450-$500L per pack. These lipsticks will also work on some other skins in SL (there’s no demo), so you’ll have to take a chance if you want to wear it with a skin other than Dutch Touch.

Although I’m wearing Blonde hair here, I think Fay (along with many of DT skins) is more suited for a light Brown to dark Brown hair color. The brows options only includes Brown and Dark brows, but plenty of hair bases (on tattoo layer) to choose from! It’s too bad I don’t really wear hair base, ever, but I want to try…. maybe next year?

One of my gripes about this skin is the dark nostrils. When I saw the preview picture on Flickr, I thought that it looked too dark — and especially more prominent on lighter skin tones.

A little birdie told me that LeLutka will be releasing this new Natasha skin very soon (probably this weekend), so I know fellow skin addicts are just as excited as I am. I think this face is great, and the lips are similar to Lola, one of the most popular LeLutka faces. I personally like it a bit more than Mila, because the lips are smaller and the texture is just perfect.

The Natasha skins only comes in four skin tones (Pearl, Hush, Golden, Walnut) cos this is suppose to be a lighter skin (the base brow is light Brown). If you prefer darker brows, any of the brows tattoos released last week will work perfectly with it. Have you noticed that LeLutka has new skin tones? Older LeLutka skin tattoos will not match perfectly with these new tones — so you need to wear the right cleavage and brows tattoo for your skin.

This is not really related to my skin review, but I thought I would mention a quick little Gorean Public Service Announcement by Elle Couerblanc. I’m not a fan of STICKY BOOBS. Natasha doesn’t have it, thank god. Ladies, if you must wear cleavage enhancers, make sure you’re wearing a bra or some type of ‘supporting’ garment so it doesn’t look like your boobs are stuck together in an unnatural way. Please please please read the article if you need visual examples! :)
