It’s raining mesh heads! I’m wearing Gaia 1.0, the newest Bento Mesh Head from Laq. I’m excited by bento editing capabilities and motion capture animations. I spent hours obsessively tweaking this head to look like me, but lately I’ve been more flexible with my looks. I wore the skin and makeups included in the Laq HUD, so this look is completely achievable right out of the box!
The Laq HUD is comparable to other mesh heads on the market – full of features and customization options. I particularly liked the Moods tab, which includes 4 default animated moods that you can play continuously, and 12 animated expressions (includes the option to play continuously or as poses).
My favorite feature on this HUD, is the Looks tab to save different skins & makeup options. With one click, the HUD saved my entire look, and even created a preview pic. The preview pic feature is amazing, cos I tend to forget what I have saved.
Watch Mallory’s video showing the motion captured animations, and tell me those are not the best animations you have ever seen! I like that each expression includes a few poses and plays in a continuous loop.
Now comes the critiques, which surprisingly isn’t much. What I want added to the HUD is a CLEAR ALL button, for when all of my makeup layers are wonky and I want to start over. This head is new, so there are not a lot of skins available for it yet. I would probably like it even more if I could try different skins. Thankfully, it is OMEGA-enabled, so there are some things that will work with it, but OMEGA is terribly slow.
Try the Laq bento mesh head and let me know what you think! How does this mesh head compare with your favorite? What feature do you want to see in future updates?

Avatars don’t need to bathe, but I still liked the idea of having a tub in my home. I don’t need a kitchen or a bedroom, but I have them, so why not a bathroom? I stumbled upon this Victoria Clawfoot Tub from Apple Fall and fell in love. I can’t remember the last time I bought any bathroom decor, so this tub is super special. The vintage design is gorgeous and the water is best water that I have ever seen in any tub in SL. The tub comes in two colors – Enamel and Iron. My room is very white, so I decided to use the Iron colored tub to add contrast.
Even though I love the tub, the animations included are not great. I tried the single poses, and all of them were bathing animations, not really suitable for still photography. I made my own poses for the photos above; it was super satisfying. I hate furniture with fidgeting animations with a passion.
Let’s go camping! This adorable vintage pin-up style outfit is from The Secret Store. I am also wearing the The Be My Baby hairstyle from Exile. This month’s Collabor88 theme is called Resort, and the mood board indicates that it’s a retro resort style! I can’t get enough of this style in SL, cos it reminds me of the sweet stuff that artilleri made back in the day.
I’m also wearing these gorgeous Dorothy Heels from Ingenue. It’s available for the Slink ‘Kitten’ feet only. I like shorter heels in SL, but it seems that creators and maybe other residents, favor higher heels. These heels are a must-have for casual clothing, they’re also available in a bunch cheerful of colors.

The Secret Store – Cindy Knotted Shirt (Milk) @ Collabor88

Just when I think Second Life content can’t possibly get any better, it does get better, and that is the most exciting thing about being a consumer. This is the first time that I’ve seen bento animated hair, and I’m already craving more! I’ve seen animated hair from other brands, but I don’t know if they were bento or some other scripted method. Exile just released a few bento hairstyles, add them to your must have list! Watch the videos (Palace & Over the Edge) to see the animations! The hairstyles are even more stunning in-world cos the animations are so smooth.
How darling is this Vintage Blouse from ANE? I love the front of this blouse, it’s pleated and very pretty. Then I turned around, and I love the back even more! Vintage with a twist!

ANE – Vintage Blouse @ The Vintage Fair
The Secret Store – Yulia Flare Skirt (Navy)

New Truth Hair colors! I like that natural hair colors are now joined into a single pack, so you get both the light and dark colors. I’m a fan of the new Selection pack too, which has a bit of both natural hair colors and rainbow colors. It’s great to see brands constantly improving their products, so that customers can get the best deals.
New Truth Hair Color Packs – Blonde, Brunette, Redhead, Grayscale, Candy, Jewel, Multitone 1, Multitone 2, Selection
Old Truth Hair Color Packs – Light Blondes, Blondes, Light Browns, Browns, Gingers, Reds, Black&Whites, Pastels, Colours, Variety
I am wearing the newest Scout hairstyle from Truth. I noticed that the newer hairstyles now include a Hair Stylist HUD to change the different options. It wasn’t difficult to change the hairstyles before, but I really appreciate this new addition, cos now I don’t have to change the hairstyle and recolor it. It’s also fun to swap between the options quickly and see their differences.
I’m sitting on the new Palisades Bar & Accessories from What Next. I love home decor with food & drinks included! I like juicy fruits the best; nothing says tropical summer goodness like lemons and limes.
