/Update/ I’m updating this post to say that Patch Linden did not extend the fair for another two weeks. It was an inside joke that apparently I misunderstood. A lot of the attendants at the event were thanking him in local chat and acted excited, so I thought it was part of the planned event/offerings. This reminds me of all the awkward times when Linden Lab would make inside jokes during official events that only a few people got, and it’s super awkward for everyone not privy to the joke. Anyway, the fair ended! *note* This info is according to the Fantasy Faire organizer on SM.
Did you hear? Fantasy Faire has been extended for another two weeks – courtesy of Patch Linden! Patch announced this at the Jail & Bail event, so you have more time to explore and shop the regions for a good cause. I had a great time attending my first Jail & Bail and seeing all of the goodies up for grabs.
Exodi, Ryker Beck's new brand have just released the Shiloh skins!! Shiloh comes in 5 skin tones, two brow options (light and dark) , and tintable public hair color. Shown above is the Shiloh skins in 4 different makeups, and light brows.
Most of the time, I like wearing light brows so I always check them out on skins. These include light brows but they're sparsed looking, not as smooth as the dark brows. If I could change anything, it would be filling in the brows towards the inner corner so they're more continuous.
This is what Shiloh looks like naked. I like the boobs a lot, they have great shine and smoothness. The knees are a lil white though.
I like the face on Shiloh, and I think it's adorable! I'm wearing the Curio 'Gertrude' hair and a sweet white cami set from Cherry Girl. The whole look reminds me of a sweet old-fashioned girl.
Mmmesh! You’ve probably heard all the buzz about mesh clothing being amazing, which it is pretty awesome — yay it bends and stretches! But with mesh comes “sizes” for clothing, and one or a few size does not fit all. Gogo is a thin avatar (at least I thought so) until mesh clothing arrived on the grid, and now I’m curvy or plus, and I barely fit those!
I’m wearing the Hucci Julesa dress in Model size (M) but not with my regular shape. The Curvy (which is the biggest size) had too big boobs, so I wore the Model size, and even with alpha layer worn, I had to take my body fat, body width, and breasts size down quite a bit. If my avatar appears thinner than usual here, it’s because I am!
While I’m excited about mesh, I wish it would really “hug” our avatar’s bodies. I don’t mind tweaking my shape at all, but I just don’t like being less curvy than my normal shape.
Have you guys noticed that in certain poses, the mesh clothing item ‘breaks’? Hmmmm. I wonder if that’s just me, or that’s something that happens with all mesh clothing.

I’m absolutely loving ReShade! I recently started exploring it, and I’ve noticed a lot of SL residents using it to enhance their snapshots. However, there are some downsides. It can be a bit tricky to use, and you’re limited to taking screenshots at your display size rather than high-resolution images.
The graphics settings in Second Life have improved significantly over time. With certain third-party viewers, you can access features like depth of field, tonemapping, and color grading, which means that while ReShade is still entertaining to play with, it’s not as essential as it once was. That said, it can create stunningly ethereal effects, making your photos truly pop! See all of my ReShdae snapshots on Flickr.
ReShade is a generic post-processing injector for games and video software developed by crosire. Imagine your favorite game with ambient occlusion, real depth of field effects, color correction and more … ReShade exposes an automated and generic way to access both frame color and depth information (latter is automatically disabled during multiplayer to prevent exploitation) and all the tools to make it happen. Now, let’s discuss my look for today. I’m a huge fan of Wings hair, but I’ve noticed lately that the bangs sit very closely against my face and lashes, leading to some stubborn alpha glitches. I really think the designer should consider tweaking the front strands to sit a bit further from the face, or at least provide some customization options.
I usually tackle alpha glitches in my photos, which is why I always recommend demoing hair before you buy. I’ve adjusted my shape and face somewhat, but I’m not keen on widening my face just to make this hairstyle work. Finding the perfect fit is crucial!
I’ve officially given up on cleaning my inventory. Easter hunts completely wrecked it, and I’m done wasting time trying to fix it. I’m sitting at 106k today, which… I wish was lower, but at this point I don’t even know what to delete anymore.
I did a little shopping this weekend and it made me realize how much I appreciate brands that release a proper pair of pants. I love ISON for that. Most of their stuff actually covers everything and still feels really classy. I can’t even remember which event I picked up these Maisie Corduroy Trousers from, but they’re really good.
Normally I’m very basic. I just wear whatever the newest release is that everyone else is wearing that weekend. But this time I decided to dig deeper into my inventory and put something together that probably nobody else is wearing right now. I remembered this amazing fur coat from Dami, an old gacha from forever ago. The whole outfit ended up being a mix of old and new, plus a few freebies thrown in.
I think I like Gogo as a blonde, but it’s getting harder when some hair brands just don’t do good blonde textures anymore. I don’t know what happened to Stealthic, but the blondes just aren’t hitting like they used to. It didn’t work for this look at all, so I switched to a light brown instead. This hair was supposed to be part of Fifty Linden Friday, but I still ended up paying like L$199 because I needed the full pack just to change the style. Not really a sale if you can’t even use the features, right?
Overall I’m feeling a little burnt out with my inventory, and honestly with where clothing is at in Second Life right now. It feels like we’ve hit a bit of a standstill. I should already have everything I want and need at this point. And yet… I still keep buying things. I guess I’m doing my part to keep the economy going.
