How To Obtain A Land Grant From LEA
I said I would post again when the Linden Endowment for the Arts’ land grant program was open for another round, so here it is! Round 13 is now accepting applications. Click here to check it out and apply. You have until May 31st to submit your ideas!
In every artists’ life, there’s a slew of grant and residency applications we apply for. Many of those applications face rejections. It’s the game of numbers you run when applying for one seat and a crowd of people who want the position! You can’t always contact the judge before you submit either, so you might not know how to put your best foot forward when pitching a project.
In real life, there are sometimes informational meetings to clear up confusion and allow grant applicants to understand what the judges are looking for. I figure in this case, a blog post might help.
So here’s my advice. I’m separating this into bullet points for do’s and don’ts.

Happy Galentine’s Day
Happy Galentine’s Day! Juicy and I went to the Valentine’s Shop & Hop and got ourselves new outfits, courtesy of Addams! Truth Hair

I’m loving this week’s Truth hair releases cos the hairstyles frames the face so well and there are no bangs covering the face. These styles will be perfect for blogging skins, which I haven’t done too much of lately but I’m hoping to do them more frequently soon cos some of my favorite designers are releasing new faces.

Also, if you have not made the switch to SL 2.1 (or another SL viewer with layers capabilities) you’re really missing out on some excellent customizations. I am wearing Laqroki Pearl skin with Dark Brows on the tattoo layer, plus Lelutka Lola lipstick. The fit is not perfect on the lipstick, but from afar you can’t even tell! I wanted to wear a more matted lipstick, even though I normally love the shiny lipgloss on Laq skins.
<– see the lips corners peeking out beneath my lipstick tattoo? You probably won’t get a perfect match with lipsticks unless it is created by the same creator for that specific skin. So I’m still crossing my fingers that Laqroki will be releasing some lipsticks on a tattoo layer soon! *crosses fingers* LeeZu Pariizian Suit
LeeZu has just released the Pariizian Suit and yes, it is worn just like this, with lots of boobs showing. I would have liked the straps to cover my nipples, but since this is on a layer, it’s non-adjustable. People who want a more modest look can add a bra underneath, but I find it pretty hot just the way it is!
The Pariizian Suit is avaiable in Air, Earth, and Black color:
I think the suit is pretty great by itself, so I accessorized with a simple ring from Zaara.
The Zaara Kashiti Bobble ring is available in Amethyst, Onyx, Pearl, and Turqouise! Yum! These look good enough to eat.

My friends, I did something hardcore. I mean, REALLY crazy…
My whole SL is gone. I have deleted my WHOLE inventory, including everything I had built from start, customs, etc. I only kept the clothes I was wearing at the time, my AIF dogs and a few skins, and of course as many !BF! originals as possible so I can continue to sell them.
BYE BYE INVENTORY
Thousands and thousands of dollars worth… I was like a SL museum, I had everything from 2005. It was so precious and very dear to me.
BUT! I had NEVER cleaned it once, and so I was now over 170K of cluttered items in no particular order. It was dragging me down, slowing my viewer and making me mad each minute.Sometimes starting fresh is scary. But I hope this will maybe revive my SL apetite once and for all, this on and off hiatus of mine feeling awkward, and all the bugs and crashing and blah blah…
I wanted to share that with you all, not so that I have your pity or anything, not to make a shock, I just thought I’d say a word on my process, where I am in my life right now, RL vs SL, what will happen with elka, etc. Just like that.
I recall a conversation I had with elka Lehane years ago, and she said that she had never deleted a single thing from her inventory. My jaw dropped. She kept everything that landed in her inventory, and ended up with 170K of items and clutter.
When I read elka’s message on Flickr about her deleting her entire inventory, at first I was shocked, but at the same time, I really admire her for taking such a drastic step to clean up her inventory and increase her SL performance drastically.
We’ve all heard about how having a large inventory may slow performance, and according to Linden Lab, anything over 10,000 objects is considered extremely large. My inventory hasn’t been 10,000 since my first six months in SL. Can a fashion addict/content creator keep their invy under 10K?
Before elka deleted her inventory, she couldn’t even keep shadows on for very long without crashing. I asked her if her performance is better now, and she said that she can keep shadows on all the time now, without crashing, and even in laggy sims.
I’m so inspired by this, I need to put more efforts into taking my 90K inventory down to below 50K. I’ve been cleaning my inventory since December 2010, and only managed to reduce it from 130K to 90K, but I think I need to move a lil faster, and be a lot more ruthless. I may or may not pull an elka!
