I have a giant Clothes folder. I’ve tried to organize with categories that make sense to me, like this:
Clothes
> Accessories
> Designers
> Random Designers
> Japanese Designers
> Random Japanese Designers
> Lolita
> Bikinis
> Lingerie
Those with their own category are because I have hundreds if not thousands of different labels all thrown in there.
My inventory is a hopeless black hole.. right now I have several hundred folders that are not filed. But since the grid is borked and I can’t tp anywhere! Guess what time it is…….. INVY MANAGEMENT TIME! *sulks*
Le’s talk about the MESH BODY. I wasn’t really interested in a full mesh body, cos I felt that my default SL body was still nice, especially when updated with the SLink hands and feet. I didn’t have a need for a nice booty, boobs, private parts, ears, mouth, etc! I like some upgrades, but could live without most. I waited for a long time until two things happened before I tried on a mesh body – 1) SLink released one, this is a brand that I could trust to continually upgrade, provide customer service, and offers kits for designers to create appliers and 2) Pink Fuel made an applier for the Physique body.
Here is a quick video to show you guys how the SLink Physique mesh body works. It’s brief, but you’ll get to see the sliders changing the different body parts. Any slider that you can adjust for the default SL body (except for head/face) will also adjust the mesh body. I think this all-in-one (hands and feet sold separately) option will reduce the need to have add-on booty or boobs attachment.
At first glance, you may not even notice such a huge difference, but the differences are there! For starters, the body parts resizes well, no more angles and squares! Smoother lines! Even as someone who almost never takes her clothes off, I will definitely appreciate not having to liquidfy the shoulder and neck area to eliminate some of the awkward lines before.

Anthology has just opened for another round! I love this Cheeky Umbrella from Kresendo. The HUD features many colors and patterns to change the umbrella top, handle, and details. You may feel a little blush at some of the default text on the umbrella; it’s filled with sexual innuendos related to rain. There is also the option to turn off the text, but I left it on and tinted the color to a nice shade that I call Second Life blue, which also happens to be my favorite color.
I don’t typically mix and match outfits, but today’s ensemble was a happy accident. I am wearing the Emm Jacket from Red Girl, it’s so well made and comes in a few basic colors. I paired it with the skirt from the Christmas Clothes Set by Art&Ko. To complete the outfit, I am wearing the Jacinta boots from CULT. This whole outfit is super cute for the city look, I’m saving it as a new default Gogo.
This new Pillow hairstyle from Truth is so casual and cute, with a great hairline. I’ve started wearing dark roots with some of my blonde hairstyles, and I think it adds a lot of depth to the hair. As I was photographing today’s look, I realized that Second Life is so beautiful; we’ve come a long way. You don’t need to enhance it with AI at all. My photos authentically represent Second Life with minimal edits. Most of the time, I just adjust the color and crop the photo; I don’t have the patience to spend a lot of time post-processing.
Even though I own a pair of lovely SLink Barefoot, I was excited to try the L+R+W Barefoot because it is not easy to make a natural looking foot that is perfect in shape and texture. The L+R+W Barefoot does not have 2.0 Alpha layer, and I consider that an important feature for all shoes now. It does however, include a HUD to customize nail color, skin color, and resize & pose.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this foot about a 6. The toes are long and the foot is too narrow and needs more arch, and the texture could be improved. I would say that I am very good at matching skin color, and I am not always exact (my patience runs out) but I am faster than your average newb, so if I find a HUD challenging, I can bet that most people would not be able to get the skin to match this closely.

Yesterday morning I was clicking around Flickr checking out new pictures from my contacts, and I saw Zaara’s Larin skirt and it was like slove at first sight.I thought no ways.. it won’t look that good on my avatar, since Zaara is a great photographer and her vendor images are always flawless. I tried it on in-world and it looks *exactly* like the vendor image, so perfect. The textures line up perfectly and this is a flexi skirt!! Flexi is not dead!! It is my favorite type of skirts in-world, even though sculpted provides more ‘shape’, flex is more wearable and practical for all poses (until SL lets us have flexible sculpties!).
I’m pairing Zaara’s Larin skirt with the Loretta Doll top from Donna Flora (looove this entire outfit, I’ll have to show you it in another blog post), and Donna Flora’s Camelia jewelry set in white.
I SO need some ideas for this as well! I set up folders one way when I first started, then I’ve gradually added folders that seemed to make sense — some by designer, some by look or role. My biggest folder is “unsorted”. I usually just resort to searching. I’m a librarian by trade, and have considered cataloging things with more descriptive keywords so search might actually be useful (nerdy overkill?? maybe…)… I’d love to hear how others are organizing things — especially if you use your inventory for some sort of specific work — blogging, photography, modeling, designing, etc., — or play–role-playing, traveling, socializing.
I organize mine by category, sub-category, color, and designer. For example:
Tops > Camisoles & Tanks > Black > Celestial Studios
Outfits > Skirt > Blue > PixelDolls
I also do use an ‘Other’ folder for items which fall outside of any of my usual selections, especially designers which I only have one item from in that category, or colors which fall outside of my general favorites.
Bottoms > Pants > Red > Other

I feel your pain. My inventory is skyrocketing over 40k right now, and it’s such a mess. I think later I am going to have to go in and sort it out as well. Probably doesn’t help that I added the fatpack of Juicy pumps and am about to add the slingbacks to the chaos. (incidentally, THANK YOU for making an “everything” fatpack! :D)

I actually have another scary folder called Building/Trees/Furniture — yep, all thrown in there of all things that makes a home in sl. Oh.. and let’s not begin to talk about Photos/Textures and Objects.. 3 folder which I would love to magically organize itself.
Everyone gives me shit for how organized my inventory is so maybe this will be of some use to you. Inside each of the sub folders (ok, sometimes it’s more like sub sub sub sub sub folders) is a folder with the name of each store. And inside each of THOSE folders is a landmark and yet again another folder for each item. OCD at it’s finest.
