Bye Bye Canimal
I’m willing to bet that a lot of people haven’t heard of Canimal. This brand was one of my favorites in SL way way back in uh.. 2007-2008. I never did like the skins but I loved the casual clothes and some accessories. I haven’t worn my Canimal items in a long time, so when I read that Canimal is closing, I wondered what took so long? Nothing new was released for over one and a half years, so it didn’t come as a surprise.
I wonder if Canimal Zephyr will relaunch under a new brand or is this truly goodbye?
My prediction is that in 2011, we will see lots of “oldbie” designers re-branding or launching new brands to stay fresh.
I’m posting a picture of a few of my favorite Canimal items from back in the day. These things are considered so-so now, the seams are more noticeable than before. I was pretty newb then so I didn’t know to look for seams, and they didn’t really matter that much then. Designers in SL have improved so much and we pretty much expect items to be seamless or pretty darn close.

I’ve been running around SL as a Brunette for the past two days, and I really like the change. Normally when I wear Blonde hair, I pick different colors to wear — like shades of Pink, or Yellow. When I tried on this Camila dress from R.icielli in a dark BlueSpring color, I thought it was just perfect for this darker hair color and dark brows.
I haven’t worn these SLink BeeBee shoes in forever cos I had the older (non-alpha) version, but I finally got an update with alpha and I love them again! These shoes were from 2009, but they’re still so amazing and incredibly textured. I love the chunky short boots style too, it’s a nice change from pumps.

12 Days of Christmas
12 Days of Christmas is here! The biggest Christmas tradition in Second Life is the free mesh head from LeLutka! It surpasses every event on the grid that I can think of, and residents look forward to this. I can’t imagine if LeLutka doesn’t give a gift head one year, would Christmas get canceled?
I went to all of the participating skin stores and picked out 4 skins that are very pretty and fit well with the free Noel head. Most of these are for EvoX and work with light Velour skin tones. I was going to blend these head skins into my usual Pink Fuel body skins, but then I found out that I already have the Velour BoM body skins as part of the Maitreya LaraX update. I wish skin brands would start including the bodies with their skins again. There’s no reason to sell bodies separately, just throw it all in there. A lot of brands are already giving out FREE body skins, cos that makes sense. It’s already very complex to match different mesh heads with different bodies, appliers, and BoM, so just give us the body so we’re not left wondering why our bodies aren’t matching our faces.

Musashi-Do has just released these adorable Tender Blossom cheongsam in a bunch of colors!! I’m wearing the Crimson Passion (Pink) because it’s my favorite color but the other colors are nice too. I wanted to acessorize it with something cute so.. I found my Zooby’s Maltese & the yummy NODe umbrella.
Here’s a view of the front & back side of the cheongsam. I’m pairing it pink Blowpop fishnets for an edgier look. The dress includes sculpted collars, frogs & prim skirt.
