Even though I'm the kid that can't play along or stick to other peoples rules, I have decided to participate in the Big Bad Blogger Challenge, where the lovely Alicia Chenaux can tell me what to blog for a whole week! Today's topic is:
How long have you been a blogger? How has it enriched your life?
I have been a blogger before it was called 'blogging' by the people who invented blogger.com! My blogger account dates back to 2001, when I use to write about real life things. Anyways, when I first joined SL it didn't even occur to me that people blogged about this game! I started my blog shortly after discovering FashionPlanet, so I could have a place to write about all the awesome clothes, hair, skin, shoes, etc, that I've found all over SL.
How has it enriched my life? If I wasn't blogging SL fashion daily, I don't think I would log in as much. My "job" in Second Life is a landlady and I have a shop but it's terribly dull chasing after rental boxes and making things (which I hardly make!). I love that through blogging I can share my discoveries and help people spend their Lindens faster! I've gotten a lot of encouragement and positive feedback from this site, except for the few anonymous commenters that tell me how much stuff I blog suck – you know who you are!! If I didn't piss somebody off, I would feel like I haven't been opinionated enough. Jk.. I welcome all comments and feedback, you guys make blogging a pleasure for me. 🙂

Here's a preview of Lazolli Monica skin that will be released soon (maybe today!). This skin has a more mature look with more shading on the face than others. I think it makes a very lovely "older" look, if you don't want to look eternally 20-something in SL.

I came across this trend that’s going viral right now with Second Life residents, where you take an SL photo and drop it into ChatGPT with a prompt to generate a realistic image. It’s fun, it’s cute. I saw my friends doing it, so of course I had to try too.
Here’s how you can create your own SL to AI Selfie! Use this AI prompt and upload a photo of your avatar to go with it. You can edit it however you like, add details, change the time of day, whatever you want.
Create an image that looks like a selfie taken with an iPhone. There should be no clear subject or specific composition, just a casual, unintentional snapshot. The image should be clear and lit evenly by daytime. The aspect ratio should be 9:16. It must not look AI-generated, but rather like it was taken by a real person.
While I was doing this, I had a moment where I wondered if any creator reading my blog is going to ban me for running my photo through ChatGPT and then I immediately decided I don’t care if people are going to be witch hunty about it.
Remember that blog post I wrote a while ago about some creators banning customers for using AI editing tools? Yeah, still relevant. Check profiles before you shop, because you don’t want to support anyone who’s going to turn around and blacklist you.
I’m screaming at how cute this new Penelo skin from Glam Affair is. I did fix a couple things on the face with Izzie’s tattoos, mostly the pinkish circles around the eyes, but overall it’s such a pretty skin. My favorite thing is definitely the lips and the lipstick, it’s the best I’ve seen on a skin in a long time.
Shopping for men’s fashion in Second Life can be punishing, can’t it? Events that start out aimed at men get taken over by women’s fashions. Lack of clothing available for your favorite mesh body. It’s hard to even find a decent beard set to wear (shoutout to Wavie Haller for coming through with Valiant, though). You start to wonder if you should just switch to a female av instead.
Or maybe you’ve got an SO who doesn’t want to/is terrible at dressing himself. You’re tired of this guy looking like he crawled out of 2010; he needs to update his av asap.
New Dutch Touch Jolie skins have the prettiest little faces and lightest brows I’ve seen on a DT skin yet! These new Pip makeups on Jolie are so whimsical and adorable and cheerful! Who doesn’t love hearts-shaped lips? I am wearing the Jolie skins in Creme skin tone below:
These skins have 2 cleavage options as well – I’m just wearing the regular boobs here, but there is a very nice push-up version too.
Swallowtail has been quiet for quite some time, but I’m delighted to discover that this brand is back with a lovely new accessory. The Flower Crown & matching flower bracelet is a mesh item, and it is gorgeous.
I’m trying to take more photos on location again (instead of just my plain wall), so I went to Zigana, and it is a stunning sim!
Check out these lovely new Storm Sandals from Gos. Every component of this sandal is scripted to color or texture change. I kept it simple by texturing all the components with a Stone Suede texture, but you could certainly go crazy with this and create a personalized color scheme.
