My criteria for shoe buying have changed recently. I no longer want them to just look good, they also have to be compatible with SLink feet.
These gorgeous Oxygen Heels are from CandyDoll, and includes a texture-changing HUD for the sole and heel. It was super hard to choose just one, but I picked the nice bluish floral print to match my outfit.
I am separating all of my SLink add-on shoes from the rest of my shoes inventory, cos when I have a nice collection of add-on shoes, I will delete all of the ones that aren’t. Sorry other shoes… appliers rock. I won’t buy a shoe with a foot attached, no matter what brand it’s from now. How about you?

It’s day 15 of Blackout August and I finally left my platform. I went to the FLF Bday Bash for the free gifts and it was actually really fun to click through everything and feel that familiar rush of new items piling into my inventory. There are hundreds of gifts here, so if you enjoy opening boxes and trying things on, this event will keep you busy. After spending nothing, I teleported home and put together my outfit.
Even though I’m doing this no buy challenge, I have to admit FLF Bday Bash is a great event. Everything, even some fatpacks, is just L$50. If something still catches my eye in September, I will grab it then. For now, the freebies are more than enough.
I found some really cute clothing at the event, but I ended up wearing the Maret dress from Pixicat, which was free at June’s Shop & Hop. Honestly, I still have so many Shop & Hop items waiting to be sorted and blogged.
This photo was taken at Mirai Melody. I have visited before, but now it has a futuristic twist! I love all of the colors and chaos behind me.
What I have learned on day 15 of not spending is that changing my outfit in Second Life is just as fun with freebies as it is with paid items. The feeling is pretty much the same for me.

I went to [this place] to get sexy new pumps, but their landing point pissed me off, so I will not be naming what [this place] is today. Maybe tomorrow, cos I’m cranky like that.
I secretly really want to wear prim nails all the time! But they don’t look good with all ao poses and still poses. I was wandering around [this place] and the first thing I saw was this prim nails vendor. Yet another thing I don’t need but totally want anyways.

The nails from [this place] comes with a Nail HUD to change nail polish color and there’s a ton of colors to choose from, as well as natural french manicures.
I like that they included different hand sizes – 20, 30, 40, and 50, but WHO has hands that are sized 50??? They should have started at 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 maximum. I typically wear hands @ size 15, but will change it to 20 to fit most prim nails, but I won’t go larger than that.
Anyways, [this place] has nice nails. But they need to stop forcing people to land at the wheat field and then force them to walk to the shop by disabling fly. (Yes I know we can turn on admin options to fly, but still…)

I still can’t wrap my brain around LI cos I’m old school, and I still think of items in terms of prims. Is 1 LI (Land Impact) equal to 1 prim count?
Exile released the most gorgeous hairstyles for The Epiphany. So many cute things at this event, a ‘lil hard to get in at the moment, but it should ease up by the weekend. I like that I can trade in extras for some exclusives! My outfit is the Heidi set from Azuchi, also at the event.

I love lashes, my avatar feels naked without them! I won’t go anywhere without my prim/mesh lashes, so I’m always looking for new ones to add to my collection. Mon Cheri just released the new Falsies lashes that includes a fantastic HUD to change between 3 styles, and different textures style such as Solid, Dipped, Glitter, Natural, or even plain White, so you can tint them any color you want!
I think that these lashes are really nice, and easy to fit, but they’re also very full & long. When I wear these, I will probably not wear the lower lashes, and just wear the top lashes + some more subtle lower lashes. The Mon Cheri lash pack includes a top prim, bottom prim, plus top+bottom prim.
A lot of people don’t know the difference between their mesh lashes, cos I see the same questions being asked over and over again. The most popular one is, “Why are my lashes clumpy?” Because you’re wearing mesh Individual Prim Lashes or Sculpted Prim Lashes (these are the only two styles that will clump). There’s probably a fix to this, but not if you like to have your graphics set to Ultra & with shadows turned on.
A Guide to Lashes:
Mesh Individual Prim Lashes = Individual lashes, no alpha glitching, will clump from far away.
Mesh Alpha Texture Lashes = Single prim with alpha texture applied, does NOT clump, has alpha glitch with the default lash (darn bug that LL fixes, and breaks with each viewer update).
Other lash styles:
Prim Alpha Lashes = What we all have. They’re just regular prims with alpha texture applied. I love these though, cos the lashes are so fine & pretty!
Sculpted Prim Lashes = Similar to Mesh Individual Lashes
Texture Lashes = tattoo layer
Mesh Alpha Texture Lashes are great! I love my S@R ones, but I usually pair it with something else on the top lashes to make it fuller. To have really great lashes, you should wear the lash alpha to get rid of the default SL lashes AND add a black eyeliner, this will fill in any gaps and create a nice smooth line where the prim meets your eyelid.
