Kimono
I fangirl’d Asa‘s work from afar for a long, so when I had the opportunity to model for one of the Kimono pics, I immediately jumped at the chance. Everyone wore dark hair, which I probably should have, cos it looks so striking, but well, Gogo is a Blonde girl. I don’t typically model for pics cos people usually take a long time, but I was delighted when this snap (above) took 2 seconds, seriously, and the rest is PS magic 🙂

A lot of people wore Kimonos from Bare Rose, which is a fantastic choice, but I went with something less typical, an outfit from Sweetest Goodbye.
New Mirai Style hair
Wow wow wow, check out this new Mirai Style hair. Usually this shop is a hit or miss for me. Some of the styles are adorable and some styles are off – like it doesn’t fit right, the prims are a mess, etc. HOWEVER, today I got lucky. This new Kumy style is ADORABLE, and curly, and BIG. I purchased one in Blonde and one in Dark Brown. The head band is scripted to change 12 different colors.
My guess is that you’ll see this hairstyle everywhere, for the next couple of days. It’s hot!

Gala Phoenix “Winter” Skins
Gala Phoenix has just released the ‘Winter’ makeup pack and they are a beautiful, dramatic, and so glam! I am a big fan of the Gala skins because they’re photogenic and there are a lot of makeups to choose from and they’re modifiable, which is a rarity for skins. Gala made these skins mod so you can tint the eyebrows, and nail colors!!
If you’ve been good all year, which I know you have, ask Santa to bring you these for Christmas!!

There are 10 skin tones to chose from, and the differences subtle from one tone to the next, but its good to have choices! I wear the Classic skin tone a lot, but when I want a Sunny glow, I try Lumine skin tone.

My lil’ shoe review where I commented that a HUD was challenging to use, caused some rage yesterday, so I thought I would try to to skin-match the easy way. A reader suggested that I should use the preset notecard, that came with the PixelMode Fae Wedge shoes, and get a “perfect match in less than 2 mins” so let’s see!

The skin I’m wearing is Laqroki in Fair tone. So I checked out the suggested Skin Tones Code for this skin, it was LAQ Fair Glow: C: 22, 27, 87. This is the reason why I don’t like suggested preset info. It comes close, and it is definitely helpful, but how one person sees color in SL depends on a number of factors (their Windlight settings, monitor, or own eyes?). But the preset didn’t work for me, and so I used the HUD, like I normally do for most shoes and work out my own setting.
My comment that the Pixel Mode was challenging caused the creator to accuse me of picking apart every product, which isn’t true. CHALLENGING does not mean IMPOSSIBLE. Obviously, I know how to use the HUD, I just personally found it challenging.

I really could have worn it with the suggested preset, and have gray feet, but I don’t like gray feet. 🙁
P.S. I think the Pixel Mode HUD is beautifully designed, but beauty does not always translate to easy.
FilterCam 2 HUD, Expansion Pack #1

FilterCam 2 HUD has a new Expansion Pack! The Expansion pack contains 5 new preset banks (that’s a total of 90 new presets) to play with!! I had so much fun with the taking snapshots using the VintageTV, Horror and Scopes filters. The Expansion Pack includes full perm textures so you can use it in-world as backdrops or as a screen as well, if you don’t want to use it within the HUD. I just looooove all these filters, it’s so much fun to use and NO PHOTOSHOP needed! None of the images here have been PS’d except for cropping.

As you can see, I have a lil’ thing for the VintageTV filters. I guess I’ve always wanted to be on TV (or stuck inside a tv…lol!!), so this is pretty close 😀

Wouldn’t these Scopes filters be awesome for some RP shots?
On the new SLViewer3, there is an additional button to click before you can save a snapshot 🙁 When I clicked on “Save to My Computer” it takes me to another screen, where I have to click to SAVE MY SNAPSHOT AGAIN!!! Seriously LL, please change it back to the way it was. Be sure to have “HUDs” checked so your filter shows up on the snapshot.
When I blogged FilterCam 2 HUD back in July, I wore a lei outfit, so I thought I would continue with that theme and picked another lei outfit that I had in my inventory to feature here. Hope you guys like it 🙂
