You know you want these!! In the spirit of the holidays, I have made HoHo Earrings for the Peace on Earth grid wide hunt. Starts Dec 2nd ~…… I think! 😛
Don’t forget to start at the beginning of the hunt so you don’t miss a single item. I don’t know where the beginning is, so here are relevant links:
Hello from The Big Easy! Dya’s Southern Twilight is a photogenic New Orleans inspired region.
For my outfit today, I am pairing the newly released Malika Bralet & Willow Mixed Jacket from The Secret Store with an older release, the Elaine Scallop Shorts. A few weeks ago, I was watching Maylee Oh on Twitch live-stream creating this jacket, and now I’m wearing it! Maylee is a multi-talented creator, not only does she create beautiful outfits in Second Life, but she’s also a prolific artist in real life.
I’ve been wearing the Lumi skin from Glam Affair since it was released back in March. In real life time, that’s not very long at all. In Second Life time, though, it feels like ages ago. But does time even matter when you like a skin? You could probably wear the same skin for years and never feel dated, especially with the current state of Second Life. Until LeLutka releases the new PURE mesh heads, most of us are still wearing EvoX heads, and skin designers continue to create beautiful 2048 skins with the same level of skill and quality. There is really no rush to change your look unless you want to.
Glam Affair – Alix skin | w/ Tattoo Layers added to soften the pores/freckles
That said, in Gogo time, four months feels like a long time. I spend an embarrassing amount of time staring at my own face, after all. So today, even though it seems like Glam Affair releases dozens of skins every month, I finally found a new face. The new Alix skin from Glam Affair is available at Equal10. I like most Glam Affair skins, but if I’m going to call something my face, it has to feel instantly familiar. It’s that little moment of, “Ah, there you are,” when I put it on. That’s exactly how I felt with Alix, even though I already knew I would be reaching for Izzie’s to remove the freckles and pores. As you can see, I did just that, and I love the result. The original version is beautiful too, and honestly, a lot of skins in Second Life are released looking more like my edited version. People then use Izzie’s or other tattoo layers to add freckles, pores, highlights, and other details back in. I sometimes go in the opposite direction and remove those details instead. The fact that we can customize skins so easily now is one of my favorite things about Second Life.
ISON recently had a 40% off sale, so I picked up something I do not normally wear, a leather outfit. Paired with the new Truth Verse hairstyle, the whole look reminds me of an anime baddie, and I am kind of obsessed with it. Maybe I need to stop wearing pastel pink and white all the time and lean into dark leather. Then again, let’s not get carried away.
My focus this year is mesh hair. Although there were a few lovely sculpted prim hairstyles, I really think that mesh hair was the highlight of the fair. My favorite hairstyles from Hair Fair 2012 are:
Exile – Sea of Love | Clawtooth – Starlight
Exile – Silent Wings | Lamb – Blue Velvet
I could have probably picked more than just four, but these four really stood out to me. I love the style, length, and they’re all mesh too. The Exile hairs I love cos they included accessories that are scripted to color-change. Clawtooth is a surprise hit, I didn’t expect to find a favorite hairstyle here, but I definitely fell in love with the Starlight hairstyle (the rigging is so-so, it goes into the side of the face)! Lamb’s hair is adorable, frames the face really well but the rigging is not done too well (the hair shifts in different poses, causing some of the hair to go into the side of the face). That’s all for me this year. There are many more lovely hairstyles but my attention span is too short to cover the entire fair!
Seraphim blog did a wonderful job covering ALL of the fair, check it out here.
What were your favorite hairstyles?

Check out my picture! I've tried to make fake shadows for the first time in Photoshop. Ummmm…… yay…. 🙂 I'm not really sure how shadows are suppose to fall but it looks nice!
Love these Floral & Strawberry group gift glasses from Katat0nik! I didn’t know how much I needed floral glasses in my SLife until these came along. If there’s a print or color you must have, leave Katat0nik a comment on Flickr, you might see it in a future release!
The glasses gave off a really cute/nerdy retro vibe, and matches perfectly with this new Mesa Living Room set from What Next. This set will be available tomorrow, August 15th, for The Garden.
What I’m Wearing:
Pink Fuel – Harley (Peach)
Truth – Mina (LightBlondes05)
