A couple of holiday things you don’t want to miss! Sweetest Goodbye has the holiday edition of the Miss Tree hair on sale for $50L. Shown here in its minty green color in a cute whimsical style with holiday trinkets wrapping around the hair. ICoN recently sent out a cute Season’s Greetings 2008 necklace (in gold) for group members. Worn here is the ICoN gold choker, but the package includes the choker, a double version, and a long version of the necklace. Join the ICoN Update Group to get yours for free.
The skin I’m wearing is a little sneak peek of the upcoming BeBae new release. It’s beautiful, as always.
This *BOOM* Warm Shoulders wrap is the perfect accessory for the cold..Brrrr.. it’s so cozy! Shown above is the entire Gluttony Pack, which includes white, red and black colors.
The Sweetest Goodbye Miss Tree hair is just adorable here and I feel totally lit up and festive now 😛
Typically I don’t think of Fishy Strawberry as a place for skins because the clothes comes first, but Fae Eriksen has been working so hard to release this new Natalie face, and I think that she has improved a lot as a skin maker. The face is pretty cute and the skins are available in a ton of options!! Hair base, cleavage and two different brows per makeup.
And because Ann said there are a lot of nekkie people on the feed, I thought I would throw in this lovely boobs shot for the Natalie skins for you guys 🙂
Also, if you want a FREE makeup, go to Fishy Strawberry and touch the subscribomatic sign.
Blogger's Choice! Write about anything you want! (BBBC Day 4)
[ Wilma + me at last night's blogger's party! ]
So today's topic is Blogger's Choice, this will be interesting! I know I rarely ever talk about my friends on this blog, so it seems like I don't have any, but I do and I adore them! I'm very protective of people I'm friends with, so I don't really like to name them cos I guess I'm one of those people that are uncomfortable talking about their friends because they're so dear to me. I know, I'm totally weird 😀 Anyways, I've decided to make a list of reasons why my friends are awesome:
1. I've been pissing them off since 2007 and we're still friends! (This applies to nearly everyone, lol) 2. They give me mod rights and don't mind if I move their stuff around or accidentally flatten their golf course (Sorry Ryan!) 3. I've landed on their "shitlist" at least once a month but they still love me (Wilma) 4. They're generous, kind, awesome, and very supportive of everything I do (All of you!) 5. They give me money even though I have more (LOL Davo <333333) 6. I can tell them anything because I know all their secrets too!!
I can't think of anything else right now, but even though I rarely ever mention you guys on my website or shower you with profile picks, you know who you are. 😛
Step into a charming little world within Second Life, where every accessory whispers a story of cuteness. The Anthology event is back, offering a collection of delightful items for you to discover. I’m holding the enchanting Explorer Cat Backpack by Aardvark, featuring an animated kitten that brings the backpack to life. Customize it with the included HUD that lets you pick different cats and accessories, and color the backpack to your liking.
Also awaiting you is the Ducklin’ Toseds cup from Comatosed, inspired by a popular real-world brand, complete with little fish that swim around inside. You can change the cup’s color and the type of fish swimming in it, all thanks to a customizable HUD.
Discover NeutralTones, a brand new to me, with their Special Friend Tshirt. It looks deceptively simple, but the detail is spot-on, from the realistic folds to the HUD that allows you to choose between two cute friends and a variety of shirt colors.
Second Life is incentivizing residents to log into the mobile app daily for some free Linden dollars. This limited-time program is called Linden Reward Streaks and is only available to Plus, Premium, and Premium Plus subscribers. On the first day, you can claim L$15, then L$20 the next day, and so on. The amount resets after seven days. Is this worth the effort? Yes, it’s free money. After a whole week of streaking, you can purchase an outfit during the weekend sales.
I have an iPhone 15 and the mobile app still rezzes like…. blobs. Hopefully Second Life is getting the metrics they need from this program because Mobile App is still terrible.
I have many friends who choose to play an avatar that’s the opposite of their gender IRL. However, NONE of them carry out romantic relationships without informing their SL partner first, of their RL gender. I think that’s the best way to be, even if your partner is infatuated with your SL pixels, they deserve to know. Let them decide if they want to carry on the relationship, don’t decide for them. Truth is best, don’t you think?
I attended today’s Zoom meeting between Linden Lab and content creators/bloggers. The focus was on content theft in Second Life, and I will not bore you with all the details. You can read a recap of the meeting by Salt Peppermint. It appears that Linden Lab will soon revise their Terms of Service to include harsher penalties for any resident caught stealing content. Such penalties may include banning the offending account and all associated alt accounts, removing all their content from the grid, and potentially pursuing legal action.
Some of the meeting was dedicated to marketing. If any content creators wish to collaborate with Linden Lab by offering perks to residents, they should reach out. If you have an idea that could attract new residents to Second Life or help retain them once they join, Linden Lab is eager to hear about it. They mentioned that MadPea had approached them, but did not disclose whether they are compensating MadPea for providing their games for free to residents or if exposure is considered sufficient payment.
Regarding other marketing plans, Linden Lab is still assessing the return on investment for their marketing initiatives. They want to ensure that their spending to attract new residents brings in the right demographic—the residents who are willing to spend money. I believe Brad Oberwager (Executive Chairman of Linden Lab) referred to them as “monetarily valuable” residents. Essentially, Second Life aims to attract individuals who join, purchase premium memberships, acquire land, buy items, and continue this cycle. When I first joined the game, I was intrigued by the potential to earn money, but I quickly discovered that my true passion lay in dressing up my pixel doll. I believe the demographic that Second Life wants to target includes young, tech-savvy individuals who enjoy cozy dress-up games. While Second Life can be challenging, it is not difficult for those who learn quickly.
I left this meeting with the impression that Second Life creators have many ideas—such as a creator verification program—which could make the platform unwelcoming to new content creators or those who wish to create as a hobby rather than as a business. The beauty of Second Life is that anyone can create and sell anything, and implementing a verification system (like a gold star) could divide the community between verified and unverified creators.
I look forward to attending future Linden meetings and listening to fellow residents express their ideas and concerns. I believe Linden Lab faces a challenging road ahead, as marketing this game and achieving growth are not metrics that can be measured instantly.
If you are reading this blog post and are not yet playing Second Life, I encourage you to come and check it out! You can earn money here, and you can also be anything you wish to be.
