My dear friend Aemeth is closing her SL store, so visit and get some amazing goodies for $10L while you still can! I am sad about it, but she’ll be around (thank god), just her store is closing down to focus on RL things. I WILL MISS YOUR CUTE STORE!!!!! <3
Hello from Cape Florida Lighthouse and Park! This sim is inspired by a real place in Florida, USA. I love beaches, islands, lush vegetation, and this sim has it all! My outfit today is a mix of two items from Teefy – the Marissa Top (@Collabor88 June) and Mika Skirt (@Uber May).
I’m wearing the new Drive Fast hairstyle from Exile. Exile just introduced Style HUDs to the newer hairstyles, and I couldn’t be happier! I’m so glad that this is a thing now with hair designers. With mesh clothing, I have found it necessary to be able to flip my hair so it doesn’t intersect with clothing.
What I’m Wearing:
Teefy – Marissa Top (Dusk), Mika Skirt (White)
Exile – Drive Fast
Ingenue – Gilda Heels
Change of plans! Today I've left Juicy and I'm going to the SL Wall of China! I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Wall of China is located only 2 sims below Juicy!! I am surrounded by greatness 😀 The photographs were snapped at the Mao and Sichuan sims.
I've decided to wear the gorgeous new release from Sweetest Goodbye, a Kimono-style dress called 'Tonight' in Red and Pink. The texturing and sculpties on this outfit is superb and totally adds nice curves to the skirt shape.
The sims and this outfit would make a really great machinima! I'll definitely try it when I have more inspiration.
I love home decor in SL! I'm constantly buying furniture sets and then giving it away to friends after I'm bored with them. For months now, I have been using the fabulous Artilleri kitchen set (which I love and will now need to find a new home for), but I fell in-love with a new kitchen set so it was time for some major renovation.
The before picture shows my kitchen, mostly decorated with Artilleri items. The after picture shows my new kitchen, renovated with decor from AMBIANCE Interactive Furnishings. I'm using the Esmerelda Kitchen set, which is sold as a complete set or separately (pick and choose your own pieces).
AMBIANCE Esmerelda Kitchen features (from notecard):
– This beautiful kitchen coordinates with the Esmerelda Living and Dining Room Sets – Stools, Island and Kitchen Wall Unit all feature Menu Driven Animations by SL's top animators (including sitting, cooking, cleaning, relaxing and couples animations) – Texture Change! This set includes a texture change feature so that it changes into 4 different color/texture collections of Black, Beach, Forest and Plum. Get FOUR sets for the price of one! – Lights and fireplace turn on and off by touch
I love that there are animations built into the set and includes a menu to change textures to match my home. I've chosen the 'Beach' texture option since I prefer the lighter counter tops. The decors included in this set makes it 'homey' and feels like a real kitchen.
I had a problem with the fireplace being too big for my small home, so the creator Desiree Bisiani resized it for me. I'm really impressed with the customer service so far, so I would definitely consider furnishing more rooms in my home with Ambiance items.
Here's a photo of the entire set! So beautiful! Tp to AMBIANCE Interactive Furnishings if you want to see this set and other sets.
I’ve been thinking about SL22B, Second Life’s big birthday celebration, which is coming up next week. Around this time every year, I also find myself reflecting on whether I would buy SecondLifetime Premium Plus again in 2025.
Back at SL20B, Second Life introduced SecondLifetime Premium and SecondLifetime Premium Plus. It was a limited offer, and I was able to buy just one SecondLifetime Premium for $749 dollars. Then during SL21B, they gave us the option to upgrade from regular lifetime to Plus. I went for it and spent another $1,150 dollars to upgrade my main account. I also bought a brand new SecondLifetime Premium Plus for my alt at the full price of $1,899 dollars. So altogether, I’ve spent $3,789 dollars for two lifetime accounts.
Did I need two lifetime accounts? Last year, I would have said yes without hesitation. I wanted to lock in my Linden Homes permanently. I do not consider myself a creator, so the free uploads were not a huge deal for me. I also do not care about being in a hundred groups. The biggest appeal for me was living rent free in my Linden Homes. That was enough to justify it at the time.
Back then, I had a lot more confidence in Second Life as a company. These days, that confidence has faded. Would I buy another lifetime subscription this year? No, I would not. If they offer it again in very limited numbers, I guess my choice to pass gives someone else a shot at it. If you want one of these, you should pay attention during the Meet the Lindens event at SL22B next week and be ready to submit your ticket fast.
Lately, I keep asking myself how long a Second Lifetime really is. I hope the answer is forever, or at least long enough to break even. We are living in unpredictable times, and Second Life could disappear at any moment. None of us want that, but at the end of the day it is a company, and companies can go under. Everyone who bought Lifetime like I did is hoping Second Life stays around long enough for us to enjoy the full value of our long lifetime subscriptions.
I came across this trend that’s going viral right now with Second Life residents, where you take an SL photo and drop it into ChatGPT with a prompt to generate a realistic image. It’s fun, it’s cute. I saw my friends doing it, so of course I had to try too.
Here’s how you can create your own SL to AI Selfie! Use this AI prompt and upload a photo of your avatar to go with it. You can edit it however you like, add details, change the time of day, whatever you want.
Create an image that looks like a selfie taken with an iPhone. There should be no clear subject or specific composition, just a casual, unintentional snapshot. The image should be clear and lit evenly by daytime. The aspect ratio should be 9:16. It must not look AI-generated, but rather like it was taken by a real person.
While I was doing this, I had a moment where I wondered if any creator reading my blog is going to ban me for running my photo through ChatGPT and then I immediately decided I don’t care if people are going to be witch hunty about it.
Remember that blog post I wrote a while ago about some creators banning customers for using AI editing tools? Yeah, still relevant. Check profiles before you shop, because you don’t want to support anyone who’s going to turn around and blacklist you.
I’m screaming at how cute this new Penelo skin from Glam Affair is. I did fix a couple things on the face with Izzie’s tattoos, mostly the pinkish circles around the eyes, but overall it’s such a pretty skin. My favorite thing is definitely the lips and the lipstick, it’s the best I’ve seen on a skin in a long time.
