I absolutely love nature and serene landscapes in Second Life. My friend Sparkle Skye’s region, which neighbors mine, is a popular spot with enchanting flowering fields and a stunning waterfall. It’s the perfect place to lose yourself, explore the beauty of nature, and take amazing photos.
Recently, I tried on the Alida Outfit from Everfaery, and let me tell you, it’s super cute with tons of options! For just L$495, it’s a fantastic deal. However, I didn’t realize it was soooo short—it’s basically the length of a shirt. So, if you’re okay with your butt cheeks hanging out, go for it! Personally, that’s not really my thing, but I’ll still wear it.
Lately, I’ve been filming more short videos in Second Life, just to practice and capture fun moments. Don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel (JuicyBomb); I always upload videos there first!
I’m posting this for my friend Wilma because she’s awesome, and wants your support during the RFL Halfway There Fair this Sunday (tomorrow).
— cut & pasted from Wilma —
This Sunday, June 1st the Relay for Life of Second Life will be holding its Halfway There Fair. During this fun event, my team, The Relay Rockers will be raising funds as part of this effort.
One of our main fund raisers is “Bid Me Bald”. Volunteers agree to shed their hair for $L5000 a day donation for RFL.
On Sunday from 6 am – 10 am SLT A Relay for Life Kiosk (benefiting American Cancer Society) will be set up just for me and my hair! At the end of the day, the total raised will cut off my hair, for L$5,000 per day. If L$10,000 is raised, I gotta go bald for 2 days. If L$35,000 is raised, I’m bald for a week. If I’m caught wearing my hair during the time I’ve been bid bald, I will have to match the total donation!
I’m a bit of a shopaholic and I’ve more than contributed my part to the SL economy…so it’s your turn to give back!! I’m more than willing to go bald for any amount of time…if I collect L$70,000 …I’m not above being bald for 2 weeks in SL. I figure that I’m already bald in RL…may as well go for it in my Second Life too.
The Relay Rockers do this every Sunday from 5-7 at T1 Radio. Please come take part! http://relayrockers.t1radio.com
I’m a bit of a private person but I will tell you a bit about my reasoning for being so vocal about this project. I’m a cancer survivor! I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in August of 2004. I went thru chemo and radiation…thinking it was all over and done with. But, this wasn’t to be. I was diagnosed a second time in July of 2007. I finished my chemo in late March. I’m finishing up with my radiation now and I fully intend on being around to spoil my grandbabies SOMEDAY. My son is 21 and a senior in college. I will be here to see those grandkids. I know that. I feel it in my heart.
I think it is amazing at what we can do when we pull together and work towards the goal. SL RFL last year was one of the most touching things I’ve ever experienced. I’ve been involved with RFL for many years and I was just as touched at the Survivors Lap in SL as I was my first survivors lap in so called real world. I sat in front of my computer on a beautiful summer day…I sat there all day…couldn’t tear myself away from the computer screen. Everyone came together for the same cause. This is a beautiful thing!
Cancer is a horrible disease but it doesn’t have to be a death sentence. Don’t look at me like I’m sick or a patient..just look at me. ..I’m a mom..I’m a daughter..a sister …a wife…a friend..I am you. Cancer can happen to anyone. Let’s just find a cure.
Please join me at the Fair and be generous. Help us Remember, Celebrate and Fight Back against Cancer!
This Blogger’s Office set is on sale for $150L this weekend only (so you have a few hours left!) as part of the Spruce Up Your Space event. The set includes most of what you see pictured above (minus the wall painting) and a few pictures I placed on the desk.
I desperately needed to update my “home office” even though I rarely actually sit down and use it, I like to pretend I do. Every blogger needs an office!!!! My old one was a desk from La Belle Vie (no longer in SL) that I loved but the desk alone was 24 prims and didn’t really include any matching accessories.
The Blogger’s Office set includes this cute laptop, and you can even customize the screen with your own images. I am using one of the images included in this laptop — check it out! It’s WordPress! It was kind of freaky watching SL Gogo use WordPress cos this is a screen that I stare at on a daily basis.
The office chair includes some built-in poses for both Male & Female. This is super cute, I’m “thinking” here.
…and drinking!
and typing!
While I was at What Next, I also picked up this adorable Pretty in Pink Armchair, which is a great deal at $75L. This is part of Project Themeory, so get it while it’s still on sale 🙂

I stopped by Shop & Hop to pick up some of the latest free gifts. At this point, it’s become a bit of a tradition for me. Every time the event comes around, I’m always curious to see which creators put real thought into their gifts and which ones are simply tossing something out to satisfy the participation requirements. There were quite a few pleasant surprises this round, and if you’re a fan of freebies, it’s definitely worth a visit. As always, FabFree did a fantastic job covering all the gifts, so be sure to check out their SL23B gift guide for a complete look at what’s available.
I didn’t make it to every booth, but after spending way too much time teleporting, touching vendors, unpacking boxes, and trying things on, these were the gifts that stood out to me the most:
• LeRoux – Lois AO
• SLC – Bento AO Doubleyou
• Softie – Nylah Skirt
• Ade – Sunny Hairstyle
• Alaskametro – Gemini 2K BOM Makeup Set
• MUHO – Deva Shoes
• Seeker – Remy Shoes
• Cococat – Store Credit
• Navy+Copper – Store Credit
As I was making my way through Shop & Hop, I found myself thinking about how many free gifts there are in Second Life these days. It feels like every event has gifts now, whether it’s because they’re collaborating with Linden Lab, celebrating an anniversary, hosting a birthday round, or simply running a promotion. Free gifts have become so common that I don’t really understand why Linden Lab still seems to view them as a major incentive for Premium memberships or resident engagement.
In fact, I sometimes wonder if all these gifts are starting to work against the events themselves. Right after leaving Shop & Hop, I teleported over to ACCESS and discovered their birthday round was packed with gifts as well. I happily collected them, took everything home, unpacked it, tried it on, kept a few items, deleted the rest, and never felt the need to actually shop. The gifts became the entire experience, and I still got that little rush that comes from finding something new without spending a single Linden dollar.
That’s why I’ve never been convinced that giving away more gifts is the answer to attracting new residents or keeping existing ones engaged. Second Life already has an incredible freebie culture, and anyone willing to spend a little time exploring can put together a fantastic avatar without opening their wallet. If Linden Lab wants to attract and retain new users, I think their resources would be better spent making the platform easier to understand, improving the onboarding experience, and connecting newcomers with friendly, knowledgeable residents who can help them navigate the world. New residents don’t need another gift bag nearly as much as they need guidance and a positive first experience.
Maybe that’s what’s been frustrating me lately. From my perspective, Second Life feels a little directionless. So many of Linden Lab’s recent efforts seem focused on giveaways, promotions, and perks for people who are already here, while some of the issues that residents talk about year after year continue to linger. I don’t think most long-term residents are asking for more gifts. We’d probably rather see faster support response times, better covenant enforcement, stronger account security, and leadership that demonstrates a deeper understanding of the people who continue to invest their time and money into this platform.
Of course attracting new residents is important, and every online world needs new people to thrive. At the same time, it’s hard not to notice that some of the residents who have supported Second Life for years are becoming increasingly frustrated. The people who own land, maintain communities, support creators, pay for Premium memberships, and spend thousands of dollars annually are just as important to the health of the platform as the next wave of signups. Sometimes it feels like Linden Lab is working very hard to attract new residents while overlooking the people who have already proven, year after year, that they’re committed to staying.
While iheartsl.com is not as popular as worldofsl or nwn, it has definitely grown in the past couple of months. There are now over 200+ authors/contributors and I still see requests daily to be included. Most people use it as a way to be syndicated on fashion planet, so iheartsl is 95% fashion, and maybe 5% other Second Life stuff.
Crossing the 40,000 unique hits monthly mark
I wonder many people actually go to iheartsl first, or go to iheartsl via fashionplanet.
Anyways! I’ve finally stopped being lazy and updated the group icon on flickr for iheartsl:

It’s pink…. but I’m open to ideas!
I love this new Sylvia hairstyle from Truth. It comes with a plain or scripted with a streaks version. I’m channeling my inner Avril today, hence the title of this post.
I don’t often feature poses by itself but I really should more often. Fashion blogging would be impossible without a variety of nice poses to show off the items. I’m featuring StoRin today, who has a small but growing collection of poses. I find that poses from StoRin fits me pretty well and Annah Whitfield has a lot of standing poses, which is perfect for blogging.
Shown below is two separate poses packs from StoRin: Something Cute and Curvylicious. They’re all mixed up in the picture, so I’m not sure which pose came from which pack, so you’ll have to visit StoRin to find out 🙂
What I’m Wearing:
Truth – Sylvia Streaked (Swedish)
LeLutka – Lola (Light) Base (L Brows)
LeLutka – Lola (Lipstick) Fuschia
Hucci – Ring My Bell (Wild Pink)
Miam Miam – Diamond Heart & Key Necklace
Miam Miam – Diamond Heart & Key Bracelet
Maitreya Gold – Shanti (Leopard)
