Starting Sunday, March 8th through Sunday, March 15th, Hope Valley will be holding a fund raiser for Breast Cancer Research. All proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Some of the stores that will be participating will be The Sea Hole, Naith Smit Designs, Republica, *BOOM*, Diamond Photography, .tga swimwear, Gigi Couture, Aden, and Meya.
A few of my favorite SL designers have gotten together and made items for sale with all the proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. If you have a chance, come and buy some goodies for a great cause!
So last year, I wrote a blog post titled New Year, New Body, marking my transition from Pink Fuel body skins after over a decade of use. I opted for The Skinnery due to its breathtaking realism and incredible details. I wore it throughout the year, purchasing different tones and add-ons, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. However, I noticed a few months ago that the body skin was too realistic for my smooth face skin. And here we are again—another new year and a new body skin.
This time, I chose the Velour Picasso Babe line because I saw they had an update for LaraX a few months ago. This body skin is less realistic than The Skinnery’s Luna Body Skin, which is precisely why I decided on it. Overall, the Velour skin is smoother and offers fewer options, but it complements my face skin nicely. There is one detail I hope will be addressed: there’s a faint line along the ankle where the leg and foot meet. It may not be a significant issue, but it’s something that bothers me.
I am currently wearing the Glam Affair face skin in Snow tone. When I tried the Velour body skin in Snow tone, I found it to be too pink, so I opted for a darker shade and am now wearing the Velour body skin in Valley tone. Although this tone is supposed to be a shade darker, it works well for me and shares the same undertone as my face skin. Included in the Velour Picasso Babe package are neckfix layers that can be worn above both the face skin and body skin. However, I found both the Snow and Valley neckfix options to be too dark, so I am using a lighter tone and tinting it to my preference. Skin matching can be tricky, but it’s great to have the flexibility to adjust things until they appear just right. Even though brands may label their tones similarly, they don’t always look the same. Therefore, it’s advisable to try out a few tones before making a purchase and choose whatever looks best for your particular skin.
As for the order of your tattoo layers, it depends on how you prefer the items to blend. For me, the order is body skin > face skin > neck fix on top. Sometimes, I experiment with placing the face skin below the body skin if I don’t like the neck fade on the face.
This is the first change I’ve made to my appearance in 2025—a subtle adjustment, yet I am already appreciating the overall look much more. I am still wearing the Maitreya LaraX body and have no plans to change that.
Shopping for men’s fashion in Second Life can be punishing, can’t it? Events that start out aimed at men get taken over by women’s fashions. Lack of clothing available for your favorite mesh body. It’s hard to even find a decent beard set to wear (shoutout to Wavie Haller for coming through with Valiant, though). You start to wonder if you should just switch to a female av instead.
Or maybe you’ve got an SO who doesn’t want to/is terrible at dressing himself. You’re tired of this guy looking like he crawled out of 2010; he needs to update his av asap.
Hi guys! What type of shape do you want to see next from Juicy Shapes? I’ve always made slender female shapes, but I wonder if some of you guys out there are waiting for something else! Please take my poll below, it will help me decide what type of shape to release next. Thanks!
Exile has just released a second skin line called Rapture! I don’t know why it’s called Rapture, but to me the face is very angelic and sweet. The skins are available in 5 skin tones, 8 makeups, light brows/dark brows, and freckles version too.
I am wearing the lightest skin tone, Tone 1 in all 8 makeups above.
This is a close-up of the Dark Brows / Light Brows. I think the detail of the brows is stunning, a lot crisper than on the previous Exile skin.
If you haven’t ever tried an Exile skin, come check it out! There is a free group gift makeup in the Exile gear group. It’s FREE to join, find it in-world.
Friday – Marie (Anxious Blond)
Exile – Rapture Skin (all)
Caroline’s – Baby Turtle Necklace in Gold
Parallel Love – Second Anniversary Gift dress
Maitreya – Neyya Toe-Cap White
There is something very regal about this new Ruff Royale necklace from Shimmerie. Some of you may remember a jewelry brand called undefined lilies by Liliana Barrs, which is now closed and replaced by Shimmerie! Looking forward to more royally awesome designs!
This necklace just happens to match perfectly with the new Savannah Dress from Lark. I love when things from different brands come together, and they complement each other.
where is that pants from?
