Happy Stylist Day

A few days ago I received a very nice IM and a gift from someone who reads my blog, LOL! Even though I am far from a hair stylist in SL; this was very cute.

Layne: I know its hairstylist day, but because of you i have about 90% of the hair i own. So i thought id send you one of this too. =)

I had no idea that there was even such a thing as Stylist Day! Thank you so much Layne, and keep on reading cos it is my goal to make you broke.

Hucci has just released the cutest Rhinestone Velvet Lingerie set, so I played around with tattoo layers and wore matching lipstick and nails 🙂 I love this set but it shows a lil bit too much nips! I wish it came with a modest version too. I’m wearing the Lipstick Red color, which is perfect for Autumn and Winter.

Analog Dog – Kathryn | Full bright (original) | Full bright unchecked | Hair after I modded

Analog Dog is one of those shops that I will buy from occasionally but I kind of hate it. A couple of months ago I deleted my entire Analog Dog folder cos I just didn’t like the older “flickering” hairstyles anymore. I went back for some of the newer hairstyles cos I do like them but ugh, it’s full bright. The demo and the hair is sold as full bright and that’s just not a true representation of the hair color. When I purchased the lighter blondes pack, I unchecked full bright and the alpha hair looked really odd so I had to modify the hair to remove all of them, and now it looks better (see picture above).

If Queue Marlowe is reading this, please offer demos with full bright unchecked too? Full bright makes the hair look so newb and horrible in-world.

It’s 2014!

You made it, time flies, year went by so fast, this one’ll be better, etc. Did you have a good holiday? Did you get anything? My family exchanges presents, but we put a priority on wishing each other well and telling each other how much each person means to us. For New Years’, I spent my time partying with my mates at an art studio. There was general running around and prank-pulling that day.

Since Christmas and New Years’ have passed, it’s time to talk about resolutions. I originally said I wasn’t going to do any, but I actually could manage some.

So, here they are:
1. Do that secret project I said I was gonna do.
2. FINISH MY PORTRAIT WORK. I do portraits in Second Life but haven’t finished my projects due to stuff happening in rl and being sad for a bit. Now that I’m back, I’m going to solve this problem by opening a Tinychat room and linking my friends to it. People watching me work will ensure I finish. Bam! That resolution is totally happening. I don’t know the time yet but it’ll probably be in the afternoon when I do this.
3. Clean out my inventory. I have tons of textures from old clothing, WIP skin work, makeup I never released, unfinished ideas, finished ones, and long forgotten stuff I did and didn’t keep at my store for very long. For all of that, I’m at 30k in my inventory–which isn’t bad, but it needs to be lower. I’m a hoarder so this is going to be a challenge.
4. Paint stuff. Make stuff. Publish stuff.
5. Be confident in my ability to be a living, breathing unicorn with a belly full of weird ideas and crazy talent.

Skin & Shape Expo 2011

Hello fellow skin addicts! The Skin & Shape Expo is pretty exciting this year, although I was a lil’ disappointed when some designers pulled out at the last minute. There are still tons of amazing new skins, shapes, and makeups, so it’s definitely worth checking out.

I would normally do more thorough reviews by showing you all the makeups and some skin options, but this event is only 10 days so I want to try and show as many different skins as I can before it ends. I don’t consider myself an SL hoarder but there are a couple of things I just can’t delete. One of them being Last Call items, even though one of my close friends told me that she deleted her entire collection already *sobs!*
