Exile has just released two new hairstyles, the Ciara style has a side-braid and perfect for adding hair flowers or other hair accessories to it. Megan is a casual updo with a scarf wrapped around the hair and tied into a bow on the side. The scarf is texture-changeable and includes 6 Spring-y colors!

Some time back in early August, I said I wouldn’t blog any skins for an entire month, so I could dedicate some of my blog posts to all the other wonderful things in SL — like shoes? clothes? aos? things I don’t normally cover enough of! Obviously couldn’t resist the lure of new skins so I have covered skins numerous of times this month.
Let’s just say I love skins. Every new skin is like unwrapping a surprise gift and trying it on and like magic, a lovely new face emerges.
These new Laqroki Tess 2 skins have thicker Dark Brown brows, but I am wearing a Blonde brows (tattoo) over it for my review. I think the lighter brows adds to the youthful look of this face, it’s so pretty.

These makeups are so pretty I wish I had them on all my other skins!
I don’t blog group gifts often, but this Abegail Multiway top (in Blue) from MALT is a group gift! Visit the MALT mainstore and touch the subscribo and check notices to get it.
I’m wearing the new Minx hairstyle from Exile, and shorts from BOOM.
The new theme didn’t last very long, cos I couldn’t figure out how to insert a banner. I thought no one would mind the theme without a giant close-up of my face, but apparently a few of you guys said you’d miss that feature! 😀 I will not buy any more new themes this year, cos I just bought this one and barely used it for a month. I need an i-n-t-e-r-v-e-n-t-i-o-n!
I read Katya’s post about why some people blog, and my reason for blogging changes depending on my mood. My friend said I should blog whatever makes me happy, and if I’m not happy I should stop doing it.
Am I happy?
Designers get twitchy if you dare mention a critique, and readers/bloggers say they appreciate it, but they also say they’re “not as critical as Gogo.” Am I too critical? If I choose to ignore all the products that I don’t consider flawless, do you know that I would probably only end up blogging……. nothing. Except maybe Pink Fuel skin, it’s flawless.
Here I am, doing my part practicing social distancing in both lives!
Earlier this week, Linden Lab posted about coronavirus and how it would affect Second Life operations. According to their post, most of the staff is already remote, therefore, business as usual at the lab. This is good news for all of the current residents that will be home more during the COVID-19 quarantine.
A few days ago, my friend messaged me asking what I was up to. My response? “Fixing my nostrils.” She replied, “I’ve never looked that closely at my face.” I can’t imagine not doing so! I constantly scrutinize my face, and I’ve yet to find the perfect skin in Second Life. The ability to layer up to 60 items simultaneously has truly transformed my virtual beauty routine.
For several years now, I rarely wear a base skin without adding some modifications. I owe much of this to Izzie’s, a brand that seems to fix every flaw in any skin. I humorously call Izzie Button “Dr. Izzie” because whenever my skin needs a tweak, I turn to her creations. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with the Nostril Changer BoM layer. While I wasn’t particularly displeased with my original nostrils, the upgrade has made a noticeable improvement. Sometimes, designers add excess shading, which can appear too dark for my taste, but this nostril set keeps it subtle.
The Nostril Changer offers various styles, primarily differing in shading size, but my favorite feature is the optional highlight. It makes such a difference! I’ve also been adding more shine to my face using Izzie’s Highlighter Set. I dislike skins with baked-in shine but love those that include a tattoo gloss or shine layer. Glam Affair used to include this in their skins, though they seem to have stopped for some reason. With the release of PBR lighting, I think the demand for face highlights and gloss will rise, as it provides a nicer glow that matches the environment. When applied subtly, it’s fantastic; too much shine, though, can make you look like you’re wrapped in plastic.
I didn’t forget about Bubblegum Weekends! We have 144 members on the Flickr group, and that’s pretty awesome.
I have been thinking of maybe coming up with some more weekly “theme” things to do, so if there’s anything you’d like to “see more of” in SL, leave me some suggestions!
