Right now I think that 3rd party SL clients cannot download an avatar’s shape for their own use. In the future, if this is possible, would you wear a “decoy shape” in public to avoid having people download your shape or would you just wear your regular shape? I’m curious! Vote vote vote!

I have to show you this sneak peek of SLink's soon to be released Lorelei hair! It is a casual side ponytail and perfect in every way. I said I would post again when the Linden Endowment for the Arts’ land grant program was open for another round, so here it is! Round 13 is now accepting applications. Click here to check it out and apply. You have until May 31st to submit your ideas!
In every artists’ life, there’s a slew of grant and residency applications we apply for. Many of those applications face rejections. It’s the game of numbers you run when applying for one seat and a crowd of people who want the position! You can’t always contact the judge before you submit either, so you might not know how to put your best foot forward when pitching a project.
In real life, there are sometimes informational meetings to clear up confusion and allow grant applicants to understand what the judges are looking for. I figure in this case, a blog post might help.
So here’s my advice. I’m separating this into bullet points for do’s and don’ts.
I went to Elope Expo a couple weeks ago and ever since then I couldn’t stop thinking about doing a wedding look in SL. The problem is I didn’t feel like hunting down the perfect chapel backdrop just to take one photo, so I just added one with AI instead. I think enhancing SL photos with AI is fun, and clearly a lot of other residents do too because I see it everywhere on Social Media now. Some people are still loudly against it, but most people really don’t care. They just want to relax, be creative, and have fun. I’d rather someone recycle in real life than make “not using AI” their moral high ground.
Anyway, back to Elope Expo. I’m genuinely impressed by all the beautiful wedding content SL creators come up with. Even though partnering in SL has never really been my thing, I still love the whole wedding aesthetic. AI altered some of these details a little in my photo, but I’m wearing the Aveline Cathedral Veil from Purple Moon with the new Yara hairstyle from Mina, and they go perfectly together. Both are available at Elope Expo.
I also picked up this gorgeous Seraphina Dress from Eternus for only L$90 at the weekend sale. I always need more gowns, and I couldn’t pass up a deal. Now I kind of wish I bought the fatpack too, because this dress is seriously beautiful.
Should you still credit SL items if you used AI to edit the photo and things got altered a little? I think so. You can still judge the items for yourself and recreate the look if you want to. The final image is still like 90% the original styling anyway.

There’s always room for a little magic in our lives. Sometimes I start rezzing random things on my platform that don’t make any sense at all, like twinkling glow blobs floating up behind me. But why not? It’s magical. Second Life doesn’t have to follow logic, it just has to look the way you want it to.
Lately my Bridgerton obsession continues with this gorgeous new Fairie Queen crown from Sparkle Skye. You can find it at Engine Room right now, which is one of my favorite events. I love when an event is filled with historical and fantasy-inspired pieces, so if that’s your vibe, this one’s worth checking out.

Hello from SL19B! This year’s Second Life birthday celebration is shaping up to be one of the best yet. I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to wear the Pathos Skirt & Blouse from toksik, and this is it! I just checked the date, and this was purchased in March 2021. I’ve been considering wearing it for over a year. I went to a couple of the main attractions at SL19B, and the Tapestry of Time was my favorite.

LMAO. If anyone wants my short, small breasted, pot bellied shape which gets mistaken for a pregnant teenager they’re more than welcome to it.
I wouldn’t want anyone stealing my shape but if they really wanted it there are plenty of ways for them to get it. I would still wear my regular shape in public but I would just modify the face often so even if someone does steal it, they still won’t look just like my avatar, apart from not having the skin I’m wearing.
My shape was stolen by a bot in a store over a year ago. She just turned into me wearing everything I was wearing. So I reported her and other friends teleported in, she turned into them. It was kind of like fighting the boggart in Harry Potter 😀 We all ARd her and contacted every creator who had made something we were wearing, but ever since then I’ve known it can be done so easily and I just had to work through my anger, sadness, denial, etc. and get over it.
WTF is the point of having a shape if you don’t wear it?
Most copybots even tho they can get your shape though intercepting can’t save them just quite they lose the data as soon as they change.. Same thing with scripts as it isn’t easy… those with more up to date versions should be able to take anything thats not in a box within a box..

Haha! Yeah, I’m with Ruby. Where’s the hermit option? Or, in my case, “I don’t leave my build area for weeks at a time because I’m working on new stuff” option. LOL! 😉
