I used to be an avid buyer and blogger of Stealthic hair, but something in 2023 made me cut back significantly. Recently, during FLF (Fifty Linden Fridays), I noticed the Pulse hairstyle and decided to check my inventory. Turns out, I already owned it. I decided to visit Stealthic to redeliver the upgraded HUDs to myself, and noticed that I’ve only purchased one Stealthic hairstyle in 2024.
Reflecting on last year, I realized why I had stopped buying so much Stealthic hair. It’s been a year and a half since the incident, so I feel comfortable sharing now. Stealthic had posted a bloggers search on Flickr, and I applied. Shockingly, within 5 minutes, I received an instant rejection from Blogotex. Seeing similar sentiments from other bloggers on their Flickr, I voiced my concerns on Twitter. Stealthic responded, claiming they “carefully evaluated every single application,” which felt insincere.
Having applied to numerous blogger searches, I was used to rejections, but they usually take 2-3 weeks, with results announced at the end. This timeframe shows respect to bloggers who are customers, the people who have been enthusistically promoting the brand for free. The instant rejection and harsh reactions from the Stealthic manager left a sour taste. Despite my consistent support and promotion of Stealthic hair, that experience made me lose enthusiasm for the brand.
My experience serves as a reminder: brands need to treat people with respect. Rejection is a part of life, but it should be handled with dignity. No brand is immune to the importance of positive promotion, and bad word-of-mouth can spread far and wide. Since some time has passed, I will start including all of the hairstyles that I own from Stealthic back on my blog.
Now, onto the main reason for this blog post. I attended SmokeFest for the first time, which I believe is another American Cancer Society/Relay For Life event in SL. This charity is incredibly active, currently hosting two major events in SL, including SL Fandom Con. Their fundraising efforts seem endless, given their significant endorsements from Linden Lab.
Inspired by the recent Olympics Air Pistol competition, I decided to buy a gun. The “Get It Done Gun” from Bueno was available at SmokeFest, and I couldn’t resist because it comes with a neat animation.
Hello from my mainland beach! Since I sold my sim, I have been looking for a small slice of waterfront beach. As you know, most mainland waterfront beach parcels are overpriced, costing HUNDREDS of dollars. I consider mainland a risky investment, cos at any moment, a neighbor could rez a giant rock wall or other annoying decors and ruin everything.
I’m so happy a friend I met recently on mainland gave me this parcel, cos he just bought a full sim. I have one side that is unblockable watefront, and the other sides are kind of horrible. I will just look out, and never look back. I love FREE LAND!
What would it take to make Sansar thoroughly engaging? Sure, Linden Lab can update the graphics and make it much easier to load and navigate the game, which I imagine they’re doing right now. But what would make it stand out from the previous grid? What would draw in new users, as well as ones from SL?
This is an ongoing list that readers are welcome to add to. If you want to suggest a feature here, please do so in the comment section! Maybe someone from the Lab will see it and think it’s a good idea, too.
Feed readers, you have your wish! I have switched the RSS back to full text. Everyone who wants to keep it as Summary, you can still vote until next month! Thanks <3
Just in case I’m the only blog you read, mesh happened.
It has been blogged by a bunch of people so read about it on their blog.
If you don’t want to read through a bunch of info, let me just tell you what it is:
Mesh is just sculpts that can bend, stretch, and is more flexible than regular sculpties. Some of you may be able to see it, and some of you won’t. If you can’t render mesh properly, you’ll probably see a blob (your SL will suck a lot).
Mesh won’t fit everyone perfectly, so you’ll need to wear an alpha layer to make parts of your body invisible, or not buy the item at all if it doesn’t fit right. If you’re not impressed with the current mesh offerings right now, just know that it will get better as more designers release mesh goodies. That’s pretty much it, and since I’m not really knowledgeable about Mesh, don’t take my word for it, go try something!
Soren Jaakobs released these new Shuan’s Boonie Hat (they’re mesh!) — and they were a b***h to fit over prim hair. I think these will work better if you manage to find a nice boy cut or if you’re just wearing hair base. I cheated a bit in the picture above by Photoshopping the hair out. Ha!
What I’m Wearing:
Laqroki – Linnea (Fair) Light Brows – 01
Milana – Lena
Soren Jaakobs – Shuan’s Boonie Hat (Camo Commando)
BOOM – My Milkshake tied tank (Army)
Heya Gogo~
Would you mind telling me the hairstyle you are wearing in this picture? It’s so cute – perfect for casual dress!
Love the t-shirts, too… the large logo one is my favorite. 🙂
