As most people who read the news know by now, the Linden Endowment for the Arts is closing. LEA provided a space for many artists in Second Life to express themselves. For them to shutter is something truly sad, but I’m also happy to note there’s an effort to begin again–a LEA 2.0, possibly! A group in-world has formed pooling suggestions on how to change the arts program so that it lasts longer this time. I’m so happy to hear of this!
As someone who’s gone through a serious roller coaster with the last LEA council, I’ve seen the uglier side of their machinations. Hazing, bullying, and power struggles are what I experienced and saw in the short time I’ve sat on their roster. After quitting, I wrote up my experiences here on this blog. It was met with both praise and criticism, but you know what? I spoke my truth in an earnest effort to bring about change, and there’s no way I would ever let anyone invalidate my experience. And as we all know, it’s the truth that will set you free in the end.
So what’s the one simple trick I think that can save the Linden Endowment for the Arts? It’s one I’ve suggested all along.

✿ cheLLe ✿ has a set of Don’t Dream It’s Over tattoos, inspired by some of my favorite song lyrics. The tats are tintable, and comes with three opacity levels so they’ll blend well with many skin tones!
I’m disappointed by Second Life’s latest Premium membership price increase.
What makes this change difficult for me to accept is that the core benefits haven’t really changed. The stipend is the same. The land allowance is the same. While there are some additional perks and gifts being added, they’re not benefits that I personally value enough to justify paying more each year.
Whenever a company raises prices, I take a look at my spending and decide what’s still worth keeping. That’s exactly what I’m doing now. Over the years, I’ve accumulated several Premium accounts, mostly to hold extra Linden Homes. After thinking about it, I’ve decided I don’t really need all of them. I’ll be keeping the two accounts that I previously upgraded to Lifetime Premium Plus, but the extra accounts are becoming much harder to justify.
The same goes for land. I’ve acquired quite a bit of mainland recently, and this price increase has me reevaluating how much I actually need versus how much I’ve simply gotten used to having.
One thing about me is that I’m usually willing to spend money on Second Life. I enjoy supporting the platform, and I’ve never been afraid to invest in the things I love. But I also believe it’s important to periodically review our subscriptions and spending habits, especially when prices go up.
If you’re maintaining multiple Premium accounts, now might be a good time to ask yourself whether you’re getting enough value from each one. Do you really need that extra Linden Home? Do you use all of the benefits you’re paying for? Maybe the answer is yes. For me, the answer was no.
At the end of the day, every resident has to decide what makes sense for their own budget. My decision is to scale back a little. Not because I’m leaving Second Life or because I suddenly dislike the platform, but because I don’t think every account I currently pay for is worth the new price.
Sometimes the most effective feedback we can give isn’t posting on the forums or arguing on social media. It’s simply reevaluating our subscriptions and spending accordingly.
A quick break from Hair Fair coverage, to bring you even more hair coverage! Sorry guys, I am swimming in new hair releases, so this is what you’ll be getting for quite a few days. Also, I fail at my own blog challenge and forgot that it’s the weekends! And you know what that means, it’s Bubblegum Weekends again! I’ll try to do that for my next post.

Regrettably, Truth Hawks has chosen not to participate in Hair Fair (for the 2nd year in a row, aw!) but has 5 new adorable hairstyles at Truth main store, and an additional freebie at the satellite store on new Truth District mall sim.
Join the Truth District Update Group and check notices for more info. I’m a total free hair whore, so of course I fought the lag to get this but omfg, the group chat was annoying. The only reason I never stay in groups that has chat enabled is cos I cannot deal with all the constant group chatter! If there’s a question, it’s probably answered in notices, please do not ask over and over and over where to find x items! *pulls hair out* Oh yeah, I totally had to leave that group. ‘Til the next group gift, of course.. 😛

For some reason when I was dressing today, rather than throw sky blue heels to match my dress, I wore my UBU Drunks. They’re customizable, so I was able to match my dress pretty well. I like this look, it’s casual but cute. <3
UBU Drunks, so worth it.
And if you haven’t been to LeLutka hair, here are all the hairstyles that have been released. Right now is a great time for some lag free shopping.
