Happy Sunday everyone! Lots of new goodies on the grid today!
Exile has just released the Whitney hair and it is hot! The wispy hair strands framing the face and shaggy layers all around make this do a must have. What do you think? I love it! Shown here is the Whitney in 'Mink', dark & sexy!
The 'Eva Turtleneck' worn above is an exclusive group gift from Pink Outfitters! Tp there and click the subscribe-o-matic to get it. I am pairing this top with the latest release from Maitreya's, the Jules jeans skirt. The texturing is great but because it's sculpted, it makes wearing it kind of difficult. It looks great in certain poses but so-so if the pose has your legs parted too wide.
What I'm Wearing:
Exile – Whitney mink Gala Phoenix – Petal [Dark] Breeze – Sepia 1 Maitreya – Jules jeansSkirt Sheer – Tights Fishnet Dark Mouse – Loves Labours Lost Necklace (Gold/Pearl) Pink Outfitters – Eva Turtleneck (group gift)
Emilia Redgrave has just released this gorgeous Zuri skin in Tan and Cacao tone. Each skin tone features 15 makeups and dark hair base. I use to wear Redgrave quite a bit, back when it was one of the few places to get nice “shiny” skin, and the prices are very reasonable.
Here you can see 4 of 15 makeups. I’ve tried a variety of lipsticks so you can get an idea of how it looks on this skin tone.
Even though this is not a tone I normally wear, I think that it’s a really nice shade of Tan and I think a well-done Tan skin is hard to find on the grid.
I snuck in early to snap some pictures so you’ll know what to expect tomorrow, when Skin Fair opens! My first impression is that this skin fair is extremely well organized, the layout is GREAT. Shops are arranged in a square, you can easily walk from one level to another and not miss any shops along the way.
There’s even a teleport board upon landing so you can visit just the shops you want if you’re in a hurry. I can’t wait for the official opening.. this will be a good one! 🙂
It’s October the 1st, and that means Havenhollow is open! This year, the event is being sponsored by the Linden Endowment for the Arts, a program that allows residents to apply for land grants and put on exhibits for other users to enjoy. If you want to apply for a sim, visit this website to learn more.
So far, some friends and I have run around Havenhollow and explored most of the places… but there’s a problem. We can’t find the ending! We’ve searched all over for hints and clues, but after looking through the haunted areas and trick-or-treated at all of the houses, we’re a bit stumped.
Have you visited Havenhollow yet? Do you know where the “ending” area is? Perhaps there isn’t one this year? Or maybe it’s a timed event and will be set up later? Leave a comment about what you think!
Speaking of the LEA arts program, if you want a smaller space to exhibit your work, there’s currently land available at the Art Farm Co-op sim in their Pop-up Gallery section. Read the rules here before you set up, so your stuff won’t get returned! All galleries are cleared after two weeks, but it allows for artists to show off their work and possibly be motivated to create more. Currently there are lots of spots available, so go grab one!
There’s also a cafe/city section (photo above) where users can make machinima, put on plays, and take photos to their hearts content. You can rez props in the cafe or the city itself to create as you need to. The cafe is also a great place to meet other artists and collaborate.
I’m very happy to see Havenhollow making use of the LEA program, and I hope they continue to earn land grants from them in the future. There’s a lot of joy and care in their work and to me, that’s what we need more of in the grid.
Do you create art in Second Life? Have you applied for/earned a LEA sim before? Do you know of other haunted places we should check out? Leave a comment! Thanks!
Can The Arcade be back if it never left? Maybe it went quiet for one round, but I don’t remember it ever stopping. Even during the gacha ban in Second Life, it kept going with those miepon machines. I don’t really care for no copy decor items, but for clothing and accessories, that’s fine. I’m not likely to lose those to rezzing errors.
I looked at the latest Arcade gallery and didn’t see anything I wanted enough to play the game of chance. My friend, though, said she spent a boat load of money and ended up gifting me a bunch of her duplicates.
Honestly, I think I’m happier when I don’t want anything badly enough to waste my time. This dress is cute, but to me, it’s only worth one pull. Not enough to keep playing and end up with extras I don’t need.
Are you happy gacha is back in its original form? Do you still play? Let me know in the comments!
I’m absolutely loving ReShade! I recently started exploring it, and I’ve noticed a lot of SL residents using it to enhance their snapshots. However, there are some downsides. It can be a bit tricky to use, and you’re limited to taking screenshots at your display size rather than high-resolution images.
The graphics settings in Second Life have improved significantly over time. With certain third-party viewers, you can access features like depth of field, tonemapping, and color grading, which means that while ReShade is still entertaining to play with, it’s not as essential as it once was. That said, it can create stunningly ethereal effects, making your photos truly pop! See all of my ReShdae snapshots on Flickr.
ReShade is a generic post-processing injector for games and video software developed by crosire. Imagine your favorite game with ambient occlusion, real depth of field effects, color correction and more … ReShade exposes an automated and generic way to access both frame color and depth information (latter is automatically disabled during multiplayer to prevent exploitation) and all the tools to make it happen. If you’re curious about experimenting with ReShade in Second Life, there are plenty of tutorials out there to help you get started. I began my journey with it back in May but got sidetracked by PBR. I’m still on the lookout for my favorite ReShade add-ons, so if you have any suggestions, drop them in the comments!
Now, let’s discuss my look for today. I’m a huge fan of Wings hair, but I’ve noticed lately that the bangs sit very closely against my face and lashes, leading to some stubborn alpha glitches. I really think the designer should consider tweaking the front strands to sit a bit further from the face, or at least provide some customization options.
I usually tackle alpha glitches in my photos, which is why I always recommend demoing hair before you buy. I’ve adjusted my shape and face somewhat, but I’m not keen on widening my face just to make this hairstyle work. Finding the perfect fit is crucial!
Hello GoGo,
Yey, what a sweet deal! By the way, I love the subtle shadow effect on your face.
I hope you would do tutorial some day! **Crsoosing my fingers**
