Since the launch of subscription boxes in SL, I have only purchased two. Those two boxes had about a dozen brands each, and I only really liked one or two items, so I decided that I would not buy any more subscription boxes. Sometimes IÂ miss out on really great things from my favorite brands, but I didn’t want to pay $1,500 (sometimes more), just to have one item.
When I saw that Pink Fuel released these gorgeous Sugar Rush Eyeshadows as part of the Cutie Loot subscription box, it was already released so the price jumped from $1,500L to $3,000L! Unfortunately for the brands in Cutie Loot, the event fell apart due to mismanagement. Fortunately for me (and you!), Pink Fuel decided to release these at the main store for way less than subscription box price. Go get them!

I went on a gacha shopping spree at Flying Girls today, I love the store name! The store is really cute too, I took pics at the store cos I love the desk area so much. I bought this adorable totoro umbrella, and a basket of snacks. The gacha machines are so cheap here, just $25-$30L per play! I wanted a floral or fruits pattern umbrella, but I didn’t get it! It’s okay cos they’re all really cute anyway.

I can’t think of anything else to add to the list. Of the few mesh hairstyles that I’ve tried, I really think it is just “OK”. I kind of miss the flexi hair that swooshes around as you dance around in SL. Also, I don’t like that mesh hair seems like it’s ‘stuck’ to your body, can seem unnatural when you’re moving around in-world.
I’m willing to bet that a lot of people haven’t heard of Canimal. This brand was one of my favorites in SL way way back in uh.. 2007-2008. I never did like the skins but I loved the casual clothes and some accessories. I haven’t worn my Canimal items in a long time, so when I read that Canimal is closing, I wondered what took so long? Nothing new was released for over one and a half years, so it didn’t come as a surprise.
I wonder if Canimal Zephyr will relaunch under a new brand or is this truly goodbye?
My prediction is that in 2011, we will see lots of “oldbie” designers re-branding or launching new brands to stay fresh.
I’m posting a picture of a few of my favorite Canimal items from back in the day. These things are considered so-so now, the seams are more noticeable than before. I was pretty newb then so I didn’t know to look for seams, and they didn’t really matter that much then. Designers in SL have improved so much and we pretty much expect items to be seamless or pretty darn close.
