Snow Rabbit (S@R) Hybrid Avatar Head Nea
Bygogo March 12, 2013December 2, 2024 Fashion, Mesh, Skins, Uncategorized

Since November of last year, I’ve drooled over the Snow Rabbit mesh head featured on NWN. When I saw the videos showing the smooth facial animations, I was blown away by how beautiful it looked. The S@R Hybrid Avatar (Nea) by Shirousagi Noel will be released at Skin Fair on March 15th — but you may have already seen a teaser or two from blogger’s preview this week.

Included in the S@R Hybrid Avatar Head package:

S@R Hybrid Avatar Head Nea
S@R Hybrid Avatar HUD Nea
S@R Hybrid Avatar Mini-HUD Nea
S@R Skin in Milky White, Natural White, Natural Beige, Bronz, and Dark (regular&cleavage version)
S@R Eye (Left, Right)
S@R Mesh Alpha (with eye, without eye)
S@R Tears (by NODe+)
S@R Mesh Shape (size XXS-S)
S@R Face Light
Manual (English & Japanese, read it online)

(Facial animations)

I’m wearing my shape, with head size 50 (the default is 30) and I am not wearing the included mesh eyes. If you do wear your own shape, make sure you adjust the eyes to fit, and the tears too. Before you do anything, read the entire manual, and the Q&A, it is extremely helpful.

Shown above is the Mini-HUD, and the full size HUD. Use it to control facial animations, change makeup, change eye color, turn tears on/off, turn on full bright and face light, etc.

I recommend turning Full Bright OFF, and never using face light. If you do, the result could be very bright and not pleasing to look at. Read the manual, you’ll know why the creator included a Full Bright option, but it is NOT RECOMMENDED BY ME.

Eye makeup in a range of colors, so lovely!

Lipsticks are glossy and natural.

The HUD also includes the option to change Eye shadow, Lipstick, Blush, and lash type. These makeups are great for a fresh and natural look, but I’m hoping for more lipstick options in the future too! Also, I want different colored brows.

I think this head is perfect in ever way, except for the neck area.

Left – With Ambient Occlusion OFF | Right – With Ambient Occlusion ON

The neck area of this head is slightly transparent alpha for the animation to work, so I’ve noticed that with Ambient Occlusion (and shadows) ON, the neck area is not seamless with the body. To combat this, you can turn full bright on (NOT RECOMMENDED), turn shadows off, or just turn Ambient Occlusion off (your shadows will be jagged, but at least your head won’t be full bright). I hope that makes sense! If you get a chance to demo or wear this head, you’ll know see what I’m talking about. I wish there was a better solution, such as having the neck area not be slightly transparent alpha, but it’s necessary.

Fashion | What I think

I like Oldbie brands, just not outdated
Bygogo March 22, 2010December 2, 2024 Fashion, What I think

Someone left a comment on my blog about hair and I thought I would answer it, cos actually it’s a very good question!!

Gogo, you always post a bunch of hair from truth, exile, lamb and fri.day…why dont you try other stores…i dont know why the whole of sl fashionista brigade is stuck on hair thats more ahem ‘popular’…granted the fact that these stores do actually have great hair textures and all…but really what about a little bit of oldies like analog dog, jolie femme, bishwear, cake, shop sue, magika and i mean stores that make hair actually look like hair?

Hi Anon! You’re totally right, I do wear Exile, Truth, LeLutka, Friday and a few other brands more than others because I love their Blonde textures and their hairstyles. These brands are undeniably good, and they have mass appeal.

In the past, I have worn ALL of the other oldbie brands that you have mentioned in your comment. I still wear Cake hair from time to time, and also go back to “oldbie” brands when they release new stuff. Cake, for example, has evolved and stayed pretty up-to-date. I won’t wear my very old Cake hairstyles (3 yrs old) but I will wear the newer releases because Stumbelina has incorporated sculpts and updated her textures. That’s the key for me, and I think for a lot of people in SL, especially fashion bloggers. We like NEW. We want our hair to match our skins. Skins have drastically improved over the past years and so, we want our hair to look just as good. If an oldbie brand does not evolve, it just becomes well, old.. and outdated.

I’m not hating on any of the brands you’ve mentioned in particular.. just saying, perhaps you don’t see them featured more prominently is because they just don’t look that great. People want VALUE for their money. Why buy “new” hair that looks outdated from brands that have not evolved?

Btw, I have a lot of oldbie brands in my inventory, some I haven’t worn in years. I’m just too lazy to box them up and too sentimental to delete them.

I’ve deleted a few hair brands from my inventory cos they’re too old but I’ve kept almost everything that I might still wear from time to time.

Gogo’s top 10 pose brands

Feathered fans are my weakness. I have been playing with the new Feathered pose set from Glitterati, and it’s so pretty! Starting on August 4th, you’ll be able to buy this set at Vintage Fair. Be sure to enter the Vintage Fair Flickr Competition, there are over $115,000L in prizes up for grabs!

A bunch of people have asked me where I buy my poses, or what pose brands I like, so I made a list of my top 10 pose brands below. A few of my favorite brands that I use often (for blog posts) are already retired, so I didn’t include those in the list. The list below is of brands that have either amazing normal fashion-friendly poses (nice stands, sits) or they have fun pose props that I enjoy using.

Gogo’s top 10 pose brands:

POSEUR
Kuso
Everglow
Glitterati
Sweet Lovely Cute
Friday
Nuwiggles
Tea Soup
(didn’t realized Tea Soup is closed, but on MP still)
Chanimations
Adorkable

Shag hair has just released two new hairstyles – the Party Girl and Chrissy Snow. I am wearing both in Coffee texture.

The Party Girl hairstyle (seen here in Dirty Blonde) also includes 2 hair attachments if you want to get festive! Left is the Formal Affair and right is the New Year 2010 headband.

If you stop by the main store, there’s a group gift waiting for you in the subscribo (it’s hair!).

Say hello to the Reindeer Chihuahua! I’ve skimmed the feed, and lots of people are dressed in sexy Santa suits or uh, nothing at all? But then again, every holiday in SL is an occasion for people to wear nothing at all. I have definitely become more prudish as I get older in SL, and I think that reflects in my outfit choices. This look is festive, and classy.

What I’m Wearing:

LOGO – Infinity Chloe Hybrid Mesh Avatar
Truth – Cece (Swedish)
LaGyo – Snow Lilly Earrings (Gold)
LaGyo – Lost Crystal Necklace (Gold)
Belgravia – Elizabeth Ca 1932 Dress (S) Pure Snow
Belgravia – Foxglove Boots (S) Snow
Mr. Poet – Wide Scarf
Pink Fuel – Reindeer Chihuahua

Lindens & Residents Snowball Fight
Bygogo December 16, 2023December 2, 2024 iheartslFeed, JuicyBomb, Second Life, Uncategorized

I went to the Lindens & Residents Snowball Fight at Winter Wonderland to test drive my new Dell Alienware computer. This is my second time attending the snowball fight event, the first time was last year. The Winter Wonderland venue is beautiful, but this year the lag was noticeably higher than last year, probably because 60+ residents were in attendance.

Even with the lag, I could tell my new computer rendered everything beautifully, though I couldn’t really move at all. When other residents shoot you 3 times, you die, and you’re immediately teleported back to the entrance.
