Brrrrrrr! My avatar is getting ready for chilly Autumn weather with cozy cardigans and adorable beanie hats. Tiny Bird has just released two short new hairstyles that includes a color-changing Beanie! I really love the short wavy curls on the Have You Forgotten style, I wish it came without a beanie too *hint hint*!
It took me awhile to come up with my outfit today cos I simply could not pick which color cardigan to wear. The new  Reek Papercut Cardigan is unisex, includes collar, collar with hood down or up, and two sleeve options (regular & rolled).
What I’m Wearing:
Tiny Bird – Have You Forgotten (Platinum Blonde)
Laqroki – Nellie 05 (Fair) Glow Skin
Zaara – Mishi Tank (Ivory)
Reek – Papercut Cardigan (Coal)
Decoy – Dana 76 Jeans (Black)
Kookie – Nyox Boots (Noir)
G-Field released the Long Cuff Boots in 10 more colors so I picked up the fatpack and put together an outfit that doesn’t quite match the boots but I like it. While I was at G-Field, I noticed that the Peach colored boots from FFL was still up for sale, so if you didn’t get it then… you can get it now.
I’m @ monso main store for these pics. If you haven’t been to this store, definitely visit, cos the decor is great.
What I’m Wearing:
cheLLe – (lipstain) Moscato Kisses
Truth – Kalle (Champagne)
monso – My Yagu Jacket (White)
Tres Blah – Frou Frou Skirt (White)
G-FIeld – Long Cuff Boots “Will” (Mesh)
Why aren’t there more snow sims in SL? I went to Wilma’s place to snap these photos cos she’s amazing (and not lazy) and decorates her sim according to the season! I found a cute little spot in front of her house to snap photos – check out the lawn gnomes in the background!
I’m wearing the newly released Elate ‘Tuli’ dress which is short but it’s cozy — really! The Stitch by Stitch ‘Easy Going’ hair (with color-changeable hat) is the perfect Winter hair to go with this dress.
Check out the upside down lawn gnome! wee!
What I’m Wearing:
Dutch Touch – Jolie (Cream) Pip7 LightEyebRows CL1
Stitch by Stitch – Easy Going (Blonde 01 Plain)
Elate – Tuli (Ice, Chocolate) Dress
Whippet&Buck – Rae Bird Brooch (Gold & Green)
SLink – Sydney Overknee Boots (Black, White)
I use to think that Campers were the worst theme. They only came with half the prims, half the land, and some random claustrophobic horse trailers. But I’ve recently changed my mind about campers… cos Chalet is now the worst theme. I’ll write about Chalets in another post, so let’s turn our attention back to campers.
Welcome to the Adult Hub, a region meant for residents over 18. It seems that Second Life has built a tasteful adult playground with beaches, clubs, pools, dancing areas, camping areas, waterfalls, all for new residents. New residents are guided to enter the Adult Hub through a portal at the Welcome Hub. Established residents can come too, and they can teleport directly to the Adult Hub. To enter, you must change your maturity rating to Adult and agree to the region rules. However, there’s no real age verification in Second Life, so technically it’s still possible that underage players could access the Adult Hub.
When I heard about Second Life launching a sex region, I was prepared to be grossed out. Ew, why? Why does Second Life want to attract people who come here wanting sex on day 1? Why make that the opening experience for new residents? But I visited the Adult Hub with an open mind and left with a deeper understanding of why Second Life made this.
Back in December 2023, Second Life teased that “Something Spicy” was coming. It was this Adult Hub, but for reasons that didn’t launch then, it launched now in March 2026. Is Second Life now ready for adults to come, along with their shiny new (sorta working) mobile app?
This is an adult game, and some adult areas in Second Life aren’t moderated. Anything goes. It can be scary and overwhelming. This feels more like a controlled environment for adults entering that side of Second Life, especially those who may appreciate moderation and tasteful decor.
Not everything on this region is about sex. There are lots of seating areas set up for conversations. Sex is one activity, but it’s well hidden inside the furniture. You don’t see pose balls anywhere, and the hints of sex are subtle.
My time wandering around this region as a 1 day old avatar, I only met established residents. Not a single new resident in sight. Not yet. A Second Life Mentor greeted me, and everyone I encountered was nice. They flocked to my noob avatar, introduced themselves, and tried to include me in conversation. That was nice. I think current residents are really trying to make new people feel welcome and stay. Maybe for the platform’s survival.
Even though I was prepared to run away from here and never look back, I think I’d go back as my main avatar. It’s an Adult Hub, but it’s not just a sex space. It feels more like a general adult social area where different things can happen. Of course my experience could be rare. This region could eventually turn into a full sex dungeon, dicks everywhere, nude avatars everywhere. But at least today, everyone I saw was wearing clothes. There are rules though, so be sure to read them while you’re here.
My overall thought is that this is nice. There should be more well designed areas like this for all types of experiences. I guess Second Life felt Adult was the draw, and I hope their gamble pays off.
Coming very soon! *EDIT* Gala's New Skins are in store now!
[ Click the image to see it in full size :: this shows off all the lovely skin tones ]
Gala Phoenix will be launching three lovely new faces, they are Breeze, Lovely, and Vixen. Each face has four skin tones: Acorn, Moonbeam, Petal, and Sundust and each skin tone has a Light and Dark version. There are six new makeups, but really it's twelve because each 'makeup' now includes two lipstick versions. I feel like Gala has totally spoiled her customers this time with so many choices!
When you purchase a makeup, you're not just getting one skin, but four different ones. For example, if you buy:
::GP:: Breeze-Acorn tone, you will be getting these:
But, that's not all, when you include the freckles versions too, that's eight skins for the price of one. Yep, freckles are included!
Shown here is Gala 'Breeze' in Petal (Dark) skin tone in all makeups! You will notice that for each skin, there are two different lipsticks version, what an amazing deal! See my Gala Phoenix Flickr Set for all the makeups in full size.
Last but not least, there are more details to the body and a sexy new 'afterglow' look 🙂 I love the beach-y look, and this new body shading adds a sexy effect that lots of people loooove. Sexy or sweet, I find Gala skins very versatile for any look in SL and I wear it a lot. I'm very very very excited about these and I know Gala skin fans will be too!
Ok… one more! A close-up! It's too pretty not to share:
Don't forget to join the Gala & Rita Design Announcements group in-world and be the first to know when these are released. I hear that the sim will be closed to group-only before a public launch. Beat the lag, join the group!

Gala Phoenix skin 'Breeze'
Royally – Alicia Ballet Outfit (White w/pink)
Maitreya – Piper II hair
Maitreya – Verve Pumps
Someone told me Reek had a Snuggie. I’m headed over there to get it today, because wearing one of those things while walking around SL would be priceless.
Also! Speaking of hair, I finally found that sideswept style I was looking for! But not before this song got stuck in my head while trying out hairstyles.
