PURE JUICE is open! I apologize to anyone who was teleported home by the security orb 😛
Don’t forget to pick up this cheLLe J’Black Scars tattoo injuries set! This, along with many other fabulous PURE JUICE items are only available @ the event until it ends on March 26th.
I don’t like Orange much, it is a color that reminds me of Halloween, or prison jumpers. Since I’ve just finished watching Orange is the new Black, I decided make an outfit with the new Ricielli Papi II Jumpsuit in tomato (basically Orange). Dark Orange is actually quite nice on Brunettes, it’s really rich and vibrant.
The Seraphim Social is a new monthly event brought to you by the people behind SeraphimSL.com. Each month’s theme is based on a different book; I didn’t get a chance to read this month’s book (The Host, by Stephenie Meyer). I did like this month’s round a lot, cos many of the items are named Melanie, my bff in SL. I’m assuming that’s a main character in the book? Be sure to visit Seraphim Social before August 11th, to pick up this round’s offerings.
What I’m Wearing:
Pink Fuel – Harley (Peach)
Wasabi Pills – Sarah (Black Coffee)
Ricielli – (S) Papi II Jumpsuit (Tomato)
Hucci – Manteo Sandals
Lark – Mirrored Souls (Necklace) @ Seraphim Social
Action – Studded Kitty Headband
SLink – Tri-Colour Wedges
Anya Ohmai has returned with an exciting new brand: James&Dew, a collaboration with her real-life husband. If you’ve been part of the Second Life community for a while, you’ll undoubtedly recognize Anya as a talented and beloved creator, celebrated for her high-quality creations and fantastic tutorials. The arrival of James&Dew in Second Life has generated much enthusiasm, as it promises the same exceptional quality we’ve come to expect from Anya.
A must-have from Hair Fair is the James&Dew AuraTwirl Hair Styling Device. This set is complete with a stylish decorative case, a versatile styling wand, and HUDs that allow you to customize the wand’s attachments, poses, and colors to suit your avatar’s needs. After all, even avatars need to look their best!
Hello from Another Somewhere! There is a cozy cabin on the sim with rustic decor, I love it! I’ve just realized that I don’t have a fur throw in my SLife, and now a bit sad. 🙁
Are you in the mood for Autumn fashion yet? I am! I’m wearing the Faux Fur Coat from Teefy, pairing it with the new Coi Dress from Fishy Strawberry, and the Buccaneer Boots from Lassitude & Ennui completes today’s outfit.
Today I want to share a fun new project called Dream Overlay. It’s a free browser based photo editor that lets you transform your photos with dreamy, nostalgic overlays and effects, whether they’re Second Life screenshots or your real life memories.
If you’ve followed JuicyBomb for a while, you probably know how much I love taking photos in Second Life. I’m also a huge fan of retro aesthetics, old film, film grain, light leaks, faded photographs, rainy windows, and all those little imperfections that somehow make a photo feel more like a memory. Dream Overlay was inspired by that style and by my love of editing photos.
I wanted to create something that made photo editing easy and fun for people like me. You shouldn’t have to buy expensive software or pay for a subscription just to add a little nostalgia to your pictures. Everything runs right in your browser, so there’s nothing to install and no account to create. Your photos stay on your device, and if you’d like to continue editing later, you can export your project as a Dream file and import it again anytime. You can also export full resolution images or create high quality MP4 videos with animated effects.
If you’re not sure where to begin, check out the premade Looks in the sidebar. They’re a fun way to get started with just one click, and you can always customize them further to make them your own.
Photo overlays aren’t exactly a new idea, but I wanted to build something that was simple, completely free, and enjoyable to use. I hope Dream Overlay makes editing your photos a little more fun, whether you’re capturing moments in Second Life or in real life.
A Few Tips
Dream Overlay runs entirely in your browser, so editing very large photos or rendering MP4 videos may temporarily use more memory or CPU power. That’s completely normal and stops once the export finishes. If things ever start feeling slow, try refreshing the page (Ctrl + F5 on Windows or Cmd + Shift + R on Mac), use fewer fewer filters, closing a few browser tabs, or working with a smaller image if you’re using an older computer.
I’m not a professional programmer, so building Dream Overlay has been a learning experience for me. If you happen to find a bug or something doesn’t work quite right, please let me know. I’ll keep improving the editor and fixing issues as I learn.
If you enjoy using Dream Overlay, I’d really appreciate your support by sharing it with your friends. I’d also love to see what you create! Feel free to share your edits in the Dream Overlay Flickr Group so everyone can get inspired by each other. If you post your creations elsewhere, I’d appreciate a credit to Dream Overlay so more people can discover the editor.
I really hope you enjoy using Dream Overlay as much as I enjoyed creating it. Have fun, and I can’t wait to see what you make.
Alaskametro creates the finest BoM tattoos on the grid, in case you were unaware. I hold this brand in high regard; the seams and texturing are simply flawless. I’m not just saying that. Few can achieve the level of detail like Alaskametro does, so I was thrilled to see the release of the Doll Parts BoM tattoo, which allows you to transform your existing Second Life body into a Ball Joint doll. This concept is reminiscent of an episode of Black Mirror, where a doll comes to life or where one’s consciousness is forever trapped inside a doll.
I love the idea of evolving my avatar, which I already consider my digital doll, into an actual doll. The Doll Parts pack comes with BoM tattoos along with extra highlight layers. Despite being made with textures, it’s exceptionally well done and looks fantastic. I appreciate that I can layer this over my current skin, ensuring a seamless blend.
Have you ever dreamed of becoming a virtual doll? If so, you can get this enchanting set at Anthology.
Guess what SL? My inventory is…. 50,406K today! I celebrated by taking photos on my beach, and didn’t crash once!
Also, I’ve been testing SL Beta 2.8.1 and it is crap. Don’t download it! I can’t believe the Lindens are changing how we make WL settings now. They’ve removed the sliders, and put in a color picker. It is not easier, and I don’t like it.
Ohhhhhh and, check out these two adorable new Truth hairstyles. I love the Zaria style with side-swept bangs, sooo wavy and stunning. Perfect for a beachy look.
It was so packed with people and nice stuff last night, I didn’t even know where to look so I went back a 2nd time and got the amazing dresses from Riddle. Yup, all of them! http://tinyurl.com/4vgnvpz And guess what… I’m going back for more goodies later tonight.
