Five new hairstyles at LeLutka, they’re so amazing. I can’t get enough of this Marilyn Blonde color, though I wish these were offered without roots too. I know roots is all the rage now, but I don’t want it on every single hairstyle! Offering two versions in the same color pack would be awesome.
Ok, so I’ve been thinking of new ways to say “Truth has new hair, go buy it”, so I’m going to run my blog entry into the LOLcat translator.

Have you seen the new Alison skin from Mother Goose? This porcelain skin with light brows comes in 6 makeup, and teeth version. I probably would not wear this skin daily, but I think it’s so doll-like and pretty! I think the skin tone is super porcelain pale, much too light for my preference, but lots of SLers seem to like it!
This tone comes in 6 dolly makeups, visit Mother Goose for the Alison skin and more!
I attended today’s Zoom meeting between Linden Lab and content creators/bloggers. The focus was on content theft in Second Life, and I will not bore you with all the details. You can read a recap of the meeting by Salt Peppermint. It appears that Linden Lab will soon revise their Terms of Service to include harsher penalties for any resident caught stealing content. Such penalties may include banning the offending account and all associated alt accounts, removing all their content from the grid, and potentially pursuing legal action.
Some of the meeting was dedicated to marketing. If any content creators wish to collaborate with Linden Lab by offering perks to residents, they should reach out. If you have an idea that could attract new residents to Second Life or help retain them once they join, Linden Lab is eager to hear about it. They mentioned that MadPea had approached them, but did not disclose whether they are compensating MadPea for providing their games for free to residents or if exposure is considered sufficient payment.
Regarding other marketing plans, Linden Lab is still assessing the return on investment for their marketing initiatives. They want to ensure that their spending to attract new residents brings in the right demographic—the residents who are willing to spend money. I believe Brad Oberwager (Executive Chairman of Linden Lab) referred to them as “monetarily valuable” residents. Essentially, Second Life aims to attract individuals who join, purchase premium memberships, acquire land, buy items, and continue this cycle. When I first joined the game, I was intrigued by the potential to earn money, but I quickly discovered that my true passion lay in dressing up my pixel doll. I believe the demographic that Second Life wants to target includes young, tech-savvy individuals who enjoy cozy dress-up games. While Second Life can be challenging, it is not difficult for those who learn quickly.
I left this meeting with the impression that Second Life creators have many ideas—such as a creator verification program—which could make the platform unwelcoming to new content creators or those who wish to create as a hobby rather than as a business. The beauty of Second Life is that anyone can create and sell anything, and implementing a verification system (like a gold star) could divide the community between verified and unverified creators.
I look forward to attending future Linden meetings and listening to fellow residents express their ideas and concerns. I believe Linden Lab faces a challenging road ahead, as marketing this game and achieving growth are not metrics that can be measured instantly.
If you are reading this blog post and are not yet playing Second Life, I encourage you to come and check it out! You can earn money here, and you can also be anything you wish to be.
These new SLink Marina Boots are FABULOUS. I needed something tall, shiny, and mmm sexy spikey heels to stomp around the grid. I’m wearing Pink, Black, and White, but there’s also Bisque, Red, and Ivory.
These boots practically goes with everything with a slightly shiny texture, but I’m pairing it with my beloved latex outfits from Hugo Designs! Latex, it’s not just for bitchy dominatrixes! You can pull off a pretty cute look in Pink 😛
I don’t typically wear denim on denim outfits, but this Ammy Set from Art&Ko looks absolutely stunning! I’m dressed head to toe in denim, even my shoes. You can find this outfit at the latest round of Anthology.
To complete the look, I’m pairing this outfit with a pair of Mini Wings from 2AM. Full disclosure: I won these in a giveaway on Flickr, but I would have purchased them regardless. They are part of the Happy Weekend sale, so you can still grab them at a discounted price. I truly adore how tiny these wings are, and they come with charming realistic animations. Plus, their small size makes them versatile enough to wear anywhere!
I also took a trip to Jeju Island, inspired by a real-life island in South Korea. It’s a beautiful region, perfect for photographers seeking stunning landscapes.
What’s Second Life like post-PBR? It’s darker, it’s brighter, it’s more saturated—honestly, it’s so confusing! To help cope with these wild lighting changes, I created a Day Cycle complete with sky and water presets. You can apply this day cycle to your land, or even to your avatar, taking it with you wherever you go.
I have a lot of waterfront homes, and the water is completely wrecked by PBR. However, it’s a little more tolerable when you apply my day cycle, bringing back some of that nice, blue, shimmery water we all love. I aimed not to make it too bright, as this is a neutral day cycle. But don’t worry, I have plans for more vibrant day cycles in the future!
And guess what? I made a video to showcase it all! I even generated the custom music and song with the help of AI. I hope you enjoy it, and thank you so much for your kind words! If you have any lighting requests, just let me know in the comments.
I don’t mind the roots, because the blend is quite subtle and varies with the hair colour. However, I do agree that a ‘no roots’ option would be nice.
BTW, I love Rykiel and SJ – will have to try the demos (after I sort my inventory…..)
Is there an option to get them without roots? I hate the roots look, myself.
