Know your Mesh Lashes
I love lashes, my avatar feels naked without them! I won’t go anywhere without my prim/mesh lashes, so I’m always looking for new ones to add to my collection. Mon Cheri just released the new Falsies lashes that includes a fantastic HUD to change between 3 styles, and different textures style such as Solid, Dipped, Glitter, Natural, or even plain White, so you can tint them any color you want!
I think that these lashes are really nice, and easy to fit, but they’re also very full & long. When I wear these, I will probably not wear the lower lashes, and just wear the top lashes + some more subtle lower lashes. The Mon Cheri lash pack includes a top prim, bottom prim, plus top+bottom prim.
A lot of people don’t know the difference between their mesh lashes, cos I see the same questions being asked over and over again. The most popular one is, “Why are my lashes clumpy?” Because you’re wearing mesh Individual Prim Lashes or Sculpted Prim Lashes (these are the only two styles that will clump). There’s probably a fix to this, but not if you like to have your graphics set to Ultra & with shadows turned on.
A Guide to Lashes:
Mesh Individual Prim Lashes = Individual lashes, no alpha glitching, will clump from far away.
Mesh Alpha Texture Lashes = Single prim with alpha texture applied, does NOT clump, has alpha glitch with the default lash (darn bug that LL fixes, and breaks with each viewer update).
Other lash styles:
Prim Alpha Lashes = What we all have. They’re just regular prims with alpha texture applied. I love these though, cos the lashes are so fine & pretty!
Sculpted Prim Lashes = Similar to Mesh Individual Lashes
Texture Lashes = tattoo layer
Mesh Alpha Texture Lashes are great! I love my S@R ones, but I usually pair it with something else on the top lashes to make it fuller. To have really great lashes, you should wear the lash alpha to get rid of the default SL lashes AND add a black eyeliner, this will fill in any gaps and create a nice smooth line where the prim meets your eyelid.

The Lashed lined up perfectly, but the lipgloss didn’t. They might work for other skins, but for the LeLutka Lola skin I’m wearing, the upper lip on the tattoo was slightly bigger than the lip on the skin. So sad 🙁
This is a great deal for $40L though, I wouldn’t have bothered to make it for myself, so I’m glad someone else did! <3

I went to a dark and scary place… H220! I love the monotone colors and constant rain here. It is creepy, serene, and lifeless. For some reason I thought this would make a great backdrop for my very non-creepy outfit today cos it stands out more. This lovely hairstyle is called West Coast, it’s from Exile for Summerfest. L-O-V-E it!

I went to Tickets 4 sim it’s a cute little Winter sim with lots of photogenic places. I think the owner may be Russian, cos he was there typing in Russian when I tp’d in. The sim is quite popular, there were lots of people hanging around there. It’s worth exploring if you like Winter-themed sims!

Let’s talk about eyes some more. I’ve been accused of not sharing my eyes or lashes info because I “stole” them. This is a ridiculous idea because designers in SL are extremely generous with me (and my blog). I will share what I want to share, so no it is not ridiculous to keep some things to myself. Would you go to a top restaurant and demand to know their recipe? Some of the ways I do things, I feel is like my own recipe (for my avatar).
Now I will talk about these new Musing Eyes set from Muism because they’re fantastic. I feel that Muism is one of these Japanese brands that have been around for a long time, but they don’t get too much blog coverage.
There are 16 colors to choose from, no prim eyes (yet) but I’m hoping they will release some in the future. I think the size is just right for me — I didn’t see a demo though, but these are $150L per color.

Another popular question people ask me all the time is… where do I get my lashes! Sometimes I don’t answer these questions because it really does require a long explanation.
So I made a chart for you; this will show you exactly how I wear my lashes.
- Start with the naked eye
- Add 1 pair of lashes
- Add another pair of lashes to go over it
- Add a liner tattoo
- Add a lash tattoo
You don’t have to do all of these steps, but that is how I do it. Shop around, find lashes that suits you, don’t try to copy me exactly, because I modify the lashes heavily.
