I haven’t taken the Ember skin from Pink Fuel off since blogging it yesterday. I love how an old skin can be transformed into something “new” just by adding some extra blush and new lipstick tattoo (with teeth). I still can’t believe this skin has been marked down to $100L, it’s easily the nicest cheap skin on the grid.
Malt is releasing this sexy 60’s inspired Vintage Cotton Tunic at Vintage Fair. I love the girlish style, very short and wearable. Pearl jewelry is classic, so I added the Simple Pearl Necklace & Earrings set from Caroline’s to dress up the cleavage area.
I blogged about D!va hair a few months ago, and I think I forgot that the hairstyles there are ‘script mod only,’ which is totally frustrating. I have since deleted all those hairstyles but when I went back this morning, I picked up a cute new hairstyle and instantly remembered why I deleted those hairstyles in the first place! It was a challenge to get this hairstyle to fit me, cos some strands just went into my face/head and couldn’t be moved individually. The script mod is terrible, it didn’t even have ‘move’ feature included! It still doesn’t fit quite right in my picture, but oh well. The hair is cute enough, and pairs perfectly with the new Vintage Headband (in Silver) from LaGyo, also found at Vintage Fair.
Come check out Malt @ Vintage Fair you guyssssssss! Opens in less than 1 hour SLT.
I remember when Hair Fair was the event to look forward to every summer in Second Life. These days, with shopping events happening every month, it doesn’t quite have the same sense of anticipation. Back then, by the time Hair Fair rolled around, everyone was absolutely starving for new hairstyles.
You can join the Hair Fair Demo Group (secondlife:///app/group/2e30d166-f3e5-e2de-ff72-b3da2d06ded2/about) and have all the demos delivered to you, but I actually prefer walking the event and visiting each store. I like browsing the booths, collecting demos manually, and discovering the gifts along the way. One thing I also appreciate is being able to see exactly how much each hairstyle is donating. Every participating hair contributes a percentage to the charity, but some creators go even further and donate 50% or even 100% of their sales.
There are a lot of charity events in Second Life throughout the year, and I think it’s wonderful when communities come together to support a good cause. At the same time, I think residents should pay attention to where their donations are going and how transparent an event is about its fundraising. That’s one of the reasons I’ve always appreciated Hair Fair. The event’s relationship with Wigs for Kids is publicly acknowledged by the charity itself, and every year Hair Fair posts the donation receipt and thank-you letter after the event concludes. I like that level of transparency. It allows residents and designers alike to see the impact their generosity is making, and you can feel confident that your shopping is supporting a real-world cause.
Kuni – Manu
Exile – Never the Same
I was excited to see some of my favorite brands participating this year, including Truth, Kuni, and Exile. It was also interesting to see Truth represented solely by hairstyles and accessories created by Litterbug. I noticed fellow Truth Collective creator Wasabi at the event as well. One thing I like about collaborations such as Truth Collective is that the individual creators are acknowledged for their work. There are plenty of brands in Second Life that describe themselves as a team, but you never really know who created what. I like following creators and recognizing their individual styles, even when they’re creating under a larger brand.
I also can’t leave Hair Fair without mentioning the Bandana Booth. I picked up this adorable bandana by Alaskametro, and there are several other prints available as well. Pretty much everything Alaskametro makes is beautifully textured. If you’ve followed my blog for any length of time, you already know I’m a fan.

Another new addition this year is Linden Lab’s contribution to the fundraiser. Residents can purchase three exclusive last names: Style, Strand, and Salon, with proceeds benefiting the charity. If I wasn’t already having an identity crisis with my avatar, I’d probably be changing my last name to Style immediately.
Linden Lab will also be auctioning off Premium Lifetime memberships during the event, with more details coming soon. If you’re someone who gets a lot of value from Premium benefits and plans to stick around Second Life for the long haul, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on.
HATS, HATS, HATS!! LaGyo has an amazing new Mademoiselle collection out, and there’s tons of hats and accessories. I’m in love with this new Splatter Roses Fascinator hat in Fuchsia. Look at the little droplet of paint on the paint brush!
Donna Flora is my favorite jewelry store in SL, but sometimes there’s a darling little dress that I just can’t resist. This new Liala dress is so adorable, and has gorgeous sculpted ruffles. I’m wearing it with the Donna Flora Glora jewelry set that comes with a necklace, earrings, and a ring. This jewelry set also includes a HUD to change the gemstones to 9 different colors.
What I’m Wearing:
LeLutka – Sugar hair (Bournville)
Donna Flora – Liala (Green Peach)
Donna Flora – Ramonia shoes (Cream)
Donna Flora – Gloria jewelry set
LaGyo – Splatter Roses Fascinator (Fuchsia)
Shag – Sweet Disposition | La La Love You (2) | La La Love You (1)
Shag has just released 3 adorable new hairstyles!! I am loving these, especially the La La Love You (20), it has a shagalicious retro look to it. I really like how this Blonde color goes with my Sunkissed skin tone.
Shag – La La Love Me (Blonde)
I know how much you guys love FREE items, so don’t forget to join the SHAG subscribomatic group in-world to receive this La La Love Me hairstyle in Blonde and Onyx for free. The hair includes an optional heart-shaped adornment.
Truth has just released 3 adorable new hairstyles as well! I am loving Kirsty’s wavy pigtails & the sweet Berry hairstyle has a color-changeable hair flower. I’ll probably be wearing Berry a lot, cos I love that sweet island-beachy-girl look.
I am inspired by Daniel Voyager’s blog post listing his top 10 blog posts and search terms, so I am posting stats for JuicyBomb. WordPress has built-in site stats, so this information is gathered from the stats page of my dashboard.
I’m not surprised to see that there’s a good mix of informative & useful posts and some drama posts that have made it to the top 10! It’s encouraging to see that the top post is the Newbie Style Challenge, which was a really fun challenge. And… you guys love my Windlight tutorial! I promise to upload them some day, I have dozens and dozens that I’ve made for different skins photography indoors and outdoors. I’m inspired by the best, Torley Linden, who has hundreds of Windlight settings available for download!
Here are my top 10 posts of 2010 and top 10 search terms
Let’s talk about eyes some more. I’ve been accused of not sharing my eyes or lashes info because I “stole” them. This is a ridiculous idea because designers in SL are extremely generous with me (and my blog). I will share what I want to share, so no it is not ridiculous to keep some things to myself. Would you go to a top restaurant and demand to know their recipe? Some of the ways I do things, I feel is like my own recipe (for my avatar).
Now I will talk about these new Musing Eyes set from Muism because they’re fantastic. I feel that Muism is one of these Japanese brands that have been around for a long time, but they don’t get too much blog coverage.
There are 16 colors to choose from, no prim eyes (yet) but I’m hoping they will release some in the future. I think the size is just right for me — I didn’t see a demo though, but these are $150L per color.
Another popular question people ask me all the time is… where do I get my lashes! Sometimes I don’t answer these questions because it really does require a long explanation.
So I made a chart for you; this will show you exactly how I wear my lashes.
Start with the naked eye
Add 1 pair of lashes
Add another pair of lashes to go over it
Add a liner tattoo
Add a lash tattoo
You don’t have to do all of these steps, but that is how I do it. Shop around, find lashes that suits you, don’t try to copy me exactly, because I modify the lashes heavily.
No mod hair! grrrrr! really, the hair may be cute enough but it’s not like you can’t find cute hair elsewhere where you can actually make it fit your AV! Honestly even if their mod script had a “move” feature it’s not worth the time and effort to move each strand individually. The most successful hair vendors in SL don’t sell no-mod hair. I wish talented designers like this would understand they don’t need to either, cos if their hair is good enough people will buy it in droves. /rant over lol

I, as a general rule, don’t buy no-mod items. If you can’t mod it, you don’t own it.
Even shoes?
I gotta say.. Those prim teeth you use here aren’t pretty. :/
It’s texture teeth 😛
Doh I ment that. XD Sorry I am totally tired today. Lmao
now where did u get the skin for 100 l at? checked out pink fuel and all the ember skins i seen were 300 a set…
