It’s my birthday month, and I couldn’t be more excited about October! My friends gifted me a new Teegle horse for my birthday, which is quickly becoming a cherished tradition. I took my new horse for a ride around Aurelias, admiring all of the autumn decorations going up.
I’ve recently become really into horses, and wow, I had no idea how expensive this hobby could be! Equestrian activities are super popular in Second Life, and I’ve found tons of amazing horses and riding accessories. However, I’ve noticed a lack of riding outfits, especially ones designed for my LaraX body. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that designers will realize how big the equestrian community is in Second Life and start creating more riding outfits. I’m particularly interested in Victorian/Regency-style outfits, not just the traditional cowboy ones. Don’t get me wrong, I love the cowboy style too, but there’s so much more out there!
My newest horse is a Teegle Tennessee Walking Horse, and I also have a wonderfully chonky Belgian Horse. I adore these two because of their size and appearance. Teegle offers a wide variety of horse breeds, including smaller ones, but these two just seem to fit me perfectly.

Pose Fair 2012 opens at Noon SLT today! I flew around the Pose Fair North and South sim for a bit yesterday, and it is huge! You’ll probably have to visit several times to see all the new props & poses, and of course, demo them all!
My PS skill (or lack thereof) prevents me from doing really fancy editing, so when I saw these new pose props from Nuwiggles [click this link for a direct TP to Nuwiggles], I thought they were so clever, and just what I needed to enhance my blog photos. I especially love the Lookbook prop box, with changeable backgrounds and textures.

While uploading my photos to Flickr today, I noticed that they have linked to Aviary, a new photo editing site that replaces Picnik. If you haven’t heard, Picnik is closing on April 19th! I tried to edit an image using the new Aviary features, and it was alright, not as complete as Picnik.

I have an Aviary account from ages ago, but I don’t think it is as complete as Picnik was (so sad this is closing!). I’ll probably use Photoshop + PicMonkey and a combination of all these other programs for my blog photos after April 19th.

I needed something exciting to happen on the grid, and Pink Fuel delivered with the gorgeous new Anja Skin! This skin is a delightful and unexpected surprise from Pink Fuel, since Mochi doesn’t create a lot of LeLutka appliers. With this new skin, I also changed my skin tone to Biscuit, instead of my beloved Peach tone. Biscuit is one shade lighter, but still rosy and sun-kissed.
This skin is available at LookBook (for $1,350L) and includes skin & makeup options to truly customize your look! Have you noticed a trend with SL “events” moving to a HUD-based system, instead of in-world shopping? I love this! I like new things, but I don’t like waiting for things to rez or struggling to enter crowded sims. Unless the sim truly provides something awesome to explore, most of them are just vendors on a wall. I think they all look the same, so this is a more preferable way to acquire new goods. What are your thoughts on HUD-based events?

The Crystal Beads necklace & earrings set I'm wearing is from *Petit Ange* and it's so beautiful includes color-changeable crystals! The crystals are scripted to change 6 different colors (pink, aqua, green, clear, purple, black) and has a bright on/off feature. I'm not a huge fan of 'full bright' so when items are no mod, I can't turn it off and it bugs me! But this script is great because now I can turn full bright off, yay! <3 Petit Ange!

Have you ever thought to yourself, “I wish I could create my own facial expressions,” when wearing a bento mesh head? Now you can! The AXIS HUD Face from LeLutka is a dream come true for bloggers and photographers. In addition to being great for photos, I also use the HUD to edit my face! How you ask? I’ve always wanted to push the sides of my upper and lower lips inside a bit to create a more pouty shape, and I’m finally able to achieve this with the HUD. It’s a subtle change, that not a lot of people will even notice, but I definitely see a difference!
For LeLutka bento mesh head wearers, there’s no reason not to match your expression to your mood! I don’t know if other mesh heads have a similar system, but this is a game changer. I have always tried to use the built-in expressions in my photos, so my face isn’t always RBF!

On the same sim as bitterCandy, there is a shop called Republik. Right now there’s only a small collection of menswear, but again, all the items at this shop are transfer!!! Gift.GIVING.GALORE!
Most items are scripted to change colors via a menu on touch, which is like getting a dozen different items in one that is sure to match many existing items in your wardrobe.
