It has been a crazy few days! I have rebuilt iheartsl.com, and implemented some new guidelines. Some bloggers and readers will love the new change, and some will not. I have already received a lot of positive feedback about the new guidelines.
The most important change to iheartsl is the Prohibited Content guidelines. If your blog has prohibited content, you have to filter only safe posts into iheartSL. Cajsa explains all of it here, if you want to know more, read her post.
Did you know that there are more than twenty SL feeds? If your blog does not meet the requirements for iheartSL, perhaps you can try your luck with other feeds. Some are invite only, but many have open enrollment, and with less restrictive guidelines.
All SL feeds are managed and owned by residents, not Linden Lab. Please be respectful of each feed’s requirements & guidelines and happy blogging.
Are my neighbors lagging me on Bellisseria? Yes, the more densely populated a region is, the more chances of lag increasing due to scripted objects running on the region and nearby avatars causing you lag. I’ll write a blog post about Avatar Rendering Cost sometime, but I don’t find other avatars to be a problem since I don’t render them. However, since I am living communally on Bellisseria, I do care when my neighbors are using an excessive amount of scripts on their land and increasing lag for everyone on the region. Starting Sunday, March 8th through Sunday, March 15th, Hope Valley will be holding a fund raiser for Breast Cancer Research. All proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Some of the stores that will be participating will be The Sea Hole, Naith Smit Designs, Republica, *BOOM*, Diamond Photography, .tga swimwear, Gigi Couture, Aden, and Meya.
A few of my favorite SL designers have gotten together and made items for sale with all the proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. If you have a chance, come and buy some goodies for a great cause!
I decided to switch up my skin tone again and now I’m wearing the Velour Snow from Glam Affair. While I loved the Ivory shade, it ended up being too pale for the Sina skin, so I’m diving into a variety of Glam Affair’s faces and skin tones to find the perfect match. When I tried on this skin, I knew it would be perfect with some tattoo fixes from Izzie’s. I’ll recommend adding additional highlights on this skin with Izzie’s Highlighter Set, and because I’m fussy, I also added the Lower Lip Border Fix, Eye Fix, Nose Shading Fix, Nostril Lightener, Blush/Contour Remover too.
Shopping is one of my favorite pastimes, but a friend advised me to hold off until the Black Friday sales. It’s sound advice, especially since I often find myself with nothing left to buy from my favorite brands by then. It’s the tricky dilemma of being a loyal customer—you end up owning everything already! Plus, many Second Life brands don’t offer discounts on their new items during Black Friday. So, this year, I’m planning to curtail my shopping for a bit and see if there are any enticing deals when the sale arrives.
Even though I’m trying to limit my purchases, I can’t help but enjoy playing dress-up with new items. I went to Belle Epoque to get the free L$500 store credit, which allowed me to get a beautiful dress, and I even spent a little extra to get a second one! So I suppose I wouldn’t say I’m completely not shopping, but I’m definitely doing better at slowing down. Belle Epoque is such a generous brand, frequently hosting hunts and giveaways. I’m a big fan of their styles—they’re incredibly cute and so affordable.
If you find yourself on a shopping hiatus but still crave some adorable outfits, keep an eye out for brands offering giveaways! This time of year is perfect for discovering the spirit of generosity among Second Life brands.

I have more decor rezzed outside of my Linden Home than inside. I enjoy the sea view and I love virtual fresh air. The Aicha Garden Pod from Cheeky Pea is so cozy and cute, I used what’s left of my prims (or land impact) allowance to make a cozy garden corner. The Aicha Garden Pod includes a HUD to change wood, seat, and pillows colors.
Thank you for making the changes. I noticed how full of NSFW content IheartSL was getting recently. It was mind boggling and frustrating! I remember one post I saw weeks ago that that was just so GROSS and I had to block the images to not see them anymore. I’ve resubmitted my page.
