Yay Polka Dots! This Blue Halter Bow Romper from G-Field was a group gift from a few weeks ago. The for sale version has a color-changing bow, but this one does not. I like the style a lot, I might pick it up in a few other colors.
I’m wearing the newest Studio hairstyle from Elikatira. I love these bangs, they’re just the perfect length, and so adorable.

One of my blogging goals this year, is to take part in blog challenges put forth by other SL bloggers! Today I am doing the What’s YOUR Beauty Base Zero? from Portia Pexington.
So this is the first installment of what I’m calling my “Stylin’ Ain’t Easy” tribute to SL blogging. It’s not definitive but it is a peek at how I operate. The first step for me is what I have named my BB-0 (Beauty Base Zero); it’s a term I’ve pillaged from book two of The Hunger Games trilogy because the concept was dead on. It’s where you start, imagining your nails are perfect, your hair is tied back and you’re staring into a mirror, or your closet, wondering what the heck you’re going to wear today.
My everyday look in SL is pretty basic, so the result of my stripped down look isn’t too different from what you see on my blog posts. I prefer skins with no makeup, so I can apply my own blush, gloss, some lip tint (usually Pinkish), and lots of lashes. For this stripped down look, I’m wearing NO tattoo makeup (only the base skin), and minimal lashes. No extra body attachments (such as hands, feet), so hello… ugly feet! What do you guys think? Is Zero Beauty Base Gogo acceptable, or does she look completely ‘newb’?

Wunderlichs Pink Empress Elisabeth Hungarian Coronation Gown

Wunderlichs always amazes me with the accuracy of their historical gowns. I can't say I know for sure that they're accurate since I'm not from these centuries ago, but I've seen the real life inspiration pictures and they look the same (and sometimes the SL version is even better than the original!).
I'm wearing the Wunderlichs Pink Empress lisabeth Hungarian Coronation Gown. This gown includes a plain Pink skirt, Pink skirth Apron (worn above) and Train (also worn above). There are 2 sleeves options, with Ruffles or Without. The gown is huuuuuge, totally Empress-worthy 🙂

I'm wearing Dutch Touch's River II skins today. Each skin includes Blonde, Brown & Black brows and Freckles too. Even though I think Dutch Touch skins are more suited for Dark hair, I'm trying them with Champagne Blonde today and they look pretty cute!

I’m thrilled to be on NWN, as always, but this time I’m featured in my undies right beneath a very nice interview with Rod Humble (SL’s new CEO). Hello Mr. CEO!

Let’s talk about the little details you can add to your skin to make your Second Life avatar feel more realistic. Back in the day, I couldn’t stand imperfections. Every skin I wore had to be flawless. No wrinkles, no freckles, nothing. I still don’t want freckles, but I’ve come around to appreciating a few imperfections. Right now, I’m obsessed with layering Izzie’s Body and Face Veins over my skin, along with her Feet Veins and Toe Creases. I didn’t go heavy on the face, just a few veins around the eyes. I also added Neck Creases, which I never liked before, but suddenly I’m into this week.
I also switched my Glam Affair skin two shades lighter, from L005 to L003. I wanted to stick with L005, but the face shading was way too dark, and there’s no way I’m layering dozens of Izzie’s fixes just to correct something that shouldn’t need fixing. L003 is lighter overall, and that means the shading is softer too, which works out much better.
Even though everything I wear is available to everyone and nothing is made just for me, I still feel one of a kind. No one else is going to make every single choice I make, and that’s what makes your avatar unique. It really does come down to the details if you want to stand out.
Are you counting down with me? Only four more days until Blackout August is over. Rejoice!
