  1. Great idea, I even already have an Amazon account. Super sucky it’s only open for Americans. If I can order stuff from the American Amazon, I don’t understand why they don’t have this open for non-Americans. Us Canucks and the rest of the world get shafted again.

Oh well, thanks for the info, I will share with any American SL’rs I know.

  2. Well, I’m one of the non – U.S. based – residents, so my opinion on that offer is somewhat tainted, you might say, and not related to the offered content at all.

So my first impression after reading the positive comments on Amazon was that the wording and the quite plain content of those reviews made them seem as if they were written by sponsors to gain positive feedback. They just seem to generic to come from real users.

  3. Any NON-US residents looking to get the deal. If you already have your CC info on your Amazon account, just change your billing address to a US one and you’ll have no problem. This works because I just did it and I had to do it before to purchase something else. So ask one of your American friends if you can use their address or just use LL’s office address lol.

  4. Thanks for posting and yep–I took advantage of this. Good to see LL is trying new things. I think it is good as long as it keeps SL viable in its current form. And by that, I mean a virtual world that is free and does not cost anything to participate in or create content. Yes, there are monetary underpinnings, and yes, you can do a lot more with money (Linden dollars, for instance) than without it (hey just like RL), but as long as users can freely log in and participate (and make things!), that to me is the underlying coolness of it.

  5. How long did it take for the linden to be deposited to your account? I did it awhile ago and I still have not received it. 🙁

  6. Yes this item is currently unavailable. What are the lindens doing? They’re having a promo until 1/6/13 but its not available as of 1/4/13.

    1. Apparently, some people took Amazon’s friendly encouragement (“You already purchased this package. Would you like to buy it again? along with the possibility to link more than one SL account to your Amazon profile) way too seriously.

Would be ironically funny to compare the number of new acounts during the time of the promotion to the number of sales, and draw in the cashout rate on the Lindex somehow.

  7. Why, that offer didn’t last too long…
    “Currently unavailable
We don’t know when or if this item will be available again.”

  8. I got my 1K, and didn’t care about the over vehicle. But I think they are working on fixing it it because people were linking 4+ alts to get the Lindens.

  9. it got removed due to abuse ad Lourdes said people used their alts and abused the sh*t out of the offer so they where forced to remove it.

    1. I just read the comments on the US site. I think this marketing ploy backfired for the Lindens in a big way because they ended it so early. Bit of a debacle: apparently people were signing up alts just to get 1000L each and the amount the Lindens were sending to people far exceeded what they anticipated.
