I think it’s time for me to delete my old sculpted prim nails, and update with mesh nails!! The Ultra Rigged Mesh Fingernails from Jamman includes a HUD with over 800 different polish textures, 11 nail shapes, the ability to change nail shape & nail texture per finger, and so much more! I like wearing short round nails, but the sharper tips might be good for certain fantasy styles. Rigged mesh nails are wonderful, they’ll fit all hand sizes from 0 to 100, so you’re not limited to just a few sizes.
If you don’t want to wear mesh hands, I think mesh nails are a wonderful way to update your avatar, without the hassle of matching skin tone.
I must say, Dutch Touch has one of the nicest cleavages I’ve ever seen! When I was cropping these pics for the blog, I noticed how awesome they were close-up.

I think Barb Carson should count herself lucky that she has been paying only $195US/Monthly for her grandfathered Class 5 (not Class 4) – full prim sims, rather than flaunt the fact that she has been getting a break on the SL Official forums. When have I ever gotten a break on tier? NEVER. When grandfathered sims go up in prices, it should go up for everyone in SL. Let’s level the playing field a little here.
This entry is not to pick on Barb, but to say that if I were in her position, I would keep quiet about the cushy tier deals I have going on with the Lindens. ;X
I bought this beautiful Surf Couture Corridale Coat about three weeks (it was part of 50L Friday) but didn’t get around to actually finding anything to wear it with until today. So if you guys missed it, I guess you’ll have to wait ’til the full release (if there is one).
This has me thinking about how I’m not timely when it comes to blogging “limited” sale items, especially if I only have less than a few days to do it. Grazia made a great little post over on her blog about not blogging weekly cheapies deals anymore, and I think that a lot of people already don’t do it timely enough to benefit the shoppers & designers.
I don’t like to rush things. I’ve been waiting for a pair of boots to wear with this coat that has 2.0 alpha layer so it wouldn’t look like shiat with shadows enabled, and finally, CoCo released these fantastic Over-the-Knee Boots that comes in 2.0 alpha version only. So for people still using really old viewers without alpha layers (is there any viewer out there that doesn’t have it?), you won’t be able to wear these boots.
I’ve finally visited the new Armidi, oops excuse me, Vaschwitzugenplatz sim and there was a gift bag there with a free magazine, gift cards and some other stuff inside it. I think there are glasses somewhere on the floor too. Props to you if you can spell the sim name, but I don’t think I ever will be able to on the first try!
If you were hesitant to try the Aperture Viewer (by William Weaver) because it wasn’t listed in the official Third Party Viewer Directory, good news: it is now. Unless stated otherwise, most of my photos going forward will be taken using this viewer, mostly because it’s what I’m learning right now. I used the official Second Life Viewer up until 2020, when I finally decided to dip my toes into third party viewers. Since then, I’ve tried Black Dragon, Firestorm, Alchemy, and beta versions of these viewers. I’m comfortable with all of them, but I’m also a sucker for shiny new sliders. I like when a viewer can push the limits of what’s possible in Second Life without needing external photo editing apps.
That said, it really doesn’t matter what viewer you use to take photos in Second Life. At the end of the day, it’s the artist, not the tool. And honestly, I don’t even consider myself an art photographer. I’m just a fashion blogger. I shoot fast and move on.
For this look, I used the built-in poser to part my lips and add a side glance. You can always use a face poser HUD, but if you don’t have one, the built-in poser actually gives you super fine control. You can tweak all the sliders to get as expressive as you want. Yes, it’s a little time-consuming, but those small details can really bring your photos to life.
Also, Anthology is open. And for the first time ever, I made an alpha in Second Life. It was messy, but I did it in under 30 minutes, and I’m totally inexperienced. I’m wearing the Nida Sweater from Havoc. It’s made for Maitreya, but I wanted to wear it with the Maitreya LaraX body, so I had to make an alpha to cut out bits of the breasts and back. I love this top too much to switch back to regular Maitreya, so I went the hard route. If you want the alpha, just message me in SL.
And finally, can we talk about this Derpy Doge Plush from Sakura? I love holdables in Second Life, and this one is just too cute. The little tongue sticking out reminds me of my real life derpy dog. Instant favorite.

I was SO excited when I saw your post, because I always have my prim nails on, but they script your hand into that relaxed position, making your hands look weird in a lot of poses/animations. But now I’m a little sad again.

How do they move when u pose? I remember the old type of nails Would sometimes float in the air.

The nails are rigged mesh, so they move with your hand, but I think your hand stays in one “relaxed” position.

Nice Nails. But still hands away! Mesh nails have still the same problem like old prim nails.
You can not make any fist. Always open hands are not natural. LL need first change the mesh system.
