Origami
I had planned on a longer blogging hiatus to catch up on some Pose Fair preparations, but two people said they missed me!! Awww. I love you guys forever 😛
I bought this adorable Tangled Origami hat hairstyle from Intrigue Co. at PCF, but I removed all the hair prims and wore it with a Milana hairstyle. I’m picky about my hair, what can I say? It’s still cute though, and for a good cause!
Zaara released this new Zayba cross top (I’m wearing Snow color) – it is gorgeous from the front and I really love the sculpted flower attachment and cute little buttons. Maybe I’ve never noticed this before, cos I don’t really inspect Zaara’s work too closely (she’s usually amazing) but I noticed that the seams on this top was really noticeable, especially on the side, and a little bit on the front.
The Zayba top is still adorable though, just don’t turn sideways 😛 I think it works perfectly with my Origami hat.
Here’s a couple of events that are either ending, or starting, that you should not miss this week!

Another round of Anthology has just opened, and the item that immediately caught my eye is the Captain’s Lullaby decor set from James&Dew. This captivating set includes a decorative chandelier crafted from bottles and ship pieces, along with candles nestled in bottles, all evoking a delightful DIY old-world charm. I absolutely adore how these items have been repurposed, making them perfect for a rustic or cottage-themed setting.
As I delved into the description on Flickr, I was intrigued by the mention of a hidden surprise. Curiosity piqued, I meticulously searched and eventually uncovered a hidden treasure! While I don’t want to give away the surprise, I can assure you it’s definitely worth exploring. Who knows? You might find treasures that have washed up on the shore somewhere. I’m thrilled about this treasure hunt feature, as I have a soft spot for nautical-themed items.
I must say, it’s quite bold of James&Dew to release this set with PBR textures only, sans fallback. This decision highlights their forward-thinking approach. As Second Life progresses, we’re moving beyond older texturing methods. For those unable to view PBR textures, the fallback is a blank white texture, but it’s high time designers focus on the future. Continually supporting outdated texturing methods is a tall order, and it’s refreshing to see creators embracing advancement.
Filmed in Second Life: Stormy Sips & Play To showcase the stunning PBR textures of the Captain’s Lullaby set, I created a short video. I rezzed a reflection probe in the entire room, although it’s not necessary to enjoy the beauty of PBR items. The probe merely enhanced the reflections, making them more focused. In fact, foregoing the additional reflection probe might even reduce lag, as regions already have auto probes, albeit less concentrated.
So, embark on this nautical adventure with the Captain’s Lullaby set, and who knows what hidden gems you might discover along the way!

I’ll admit it, I love to tweak my avatar. I like tweaking my friends too, if they’ll let me tweak their shape (and sometimes without their permission too, like that one time I gave Wilma bigger and perkier boobs. And a few times after that, I tweaked other stuff but she noticed and yelled at me).
Over the past 3 years, I have made subtle but noticeable changes to my shape, to go with the skins I’m wearing or just to get bigger in size. My waist use to be a scary 35! I wouldn’t wear a shape that small now, but I liked it then.
This past week after reading all the gossip about Heidi Montag’s new face, I really think that the appeal of SL for many is the ability to have our sliders exactly how we want it. If you wanted more boobs, more height, more pouty lips, it’s just a click away.
Thankfully in SL, we can tweak as much as we want an it doesn’t cost a dime or possible complications. So happy tweaking!
What about you, do you like to tweak your face or has it remain unchanged over the years?
P.S., I’m keeping my ‘before’ face, but I like the ‘after’ too!
* This post is inspired by Heidi Montag’s new face.

SLink Tall Leather Thigh Boots
I found this darling outfit from Marketplace, and it has a sculpted Leather Bra, which matches perfectly with the new SLink Tall Leather Thigh Boots I’m wearing. With a lil’ bit of adjustments, I was able to get this outfit to fit reasonably well and also, not wear the leather shirt texture layer. This Sonya dress from Crissy Designs is $100L (so cheap!) and is the cutest ‘whore’ outfit I could find that is still cute, not tacky.
Now onto SLink’s newest Tall Leather Thigh Boots! They’re mesh so they bend and work with all poses!
What I found interesting about these particular mesh boots (my very first pair of mesh shoes), is that they come with one single attachment. There’s no Left and Right shoe, the whole thing is just… together. This is how it looks inside my inventory, with the boots worn:
The SLink boots comes with 4 sizes to choose from. To my surprise, my avatar is Curvy! I think Gogo is pretty small, so erm, if your legs have muscle bigger than 50 and your fat sliders are bigger than mine, you’ll prob have to move onto the Plus size, or ask for a custom fitting.
The SLink Tall Leather Thigh Boots comes in 10 colors! I noticed that these boots do not have any ‘options’ like some previous SLink shoes. I wonder if that’s a mesh limitation? There’s no HUD, so there’s no option to change sole color, heel color, or anything like that.
If you’re not on a viewer capable of viewing mesh, I guess you’ll be seeing a whole lot of boxes in SL! These boots are a-m-a-zing. I don’t know if I will purchase “regular” sculpt boots ever again.

I went to Skin Fair! I tried on lots of skins and discovered a bunch of new to me brands. While I am genuinely excited about the 2k BoM options available, I had hoped to find Maitreya LaraX versions of new body skins, which I did not find this year.
I recommend stopping by Sparkle Skye’s booth to check out the new floral body art sets and the free gift. Although I am not a huge fan of tattoos, because I don’t think I could pull it off, I still appreciate beautiful body art, stickers, and similar items.
Sparkle Skye – Love Me (Flower Body Art) This weekend, I’ve been experimenting with the official Second Life viewer and updating all of the third-party ones. I’m excited to try the new Khronos tone mapper, but I will need to adjust all of my EEPs because now everything just looks way too bright. Currently, my EEPs are designed for the ACES tone mapper. If Khronos is the future, I hope Second Life and all third-party viewers will prioritize it as the first choice rather than a secondary option. I do not plan to release any EEPs until everything stabilizes; it is quite frustrating to redo them each time there is a color change in any of the viewers. Have you had a chance to try the new Khronos tone mapper in Second Life? I’m still getting over the shock of PBR colors, so now PBR + Khronos will be yet another new thing to adapt to.

Hi everyone! I checked out a few residential estate sims last night, and some of them are very well landscaped. I don’t really want to admit this, but I totally miss my homestead sim! I miss having my beach house on the ground, and the shimmering SL water.
Where do you live in SL? On the ground? In the sky? Do you prefer beachy, grassy, or some other terrain?
What I’m Wearing:
Truth – Devina (Swedish)

haha I have so much trouble driving that car. It goes too fast for me, and if I hit a bump sometimes I fly across the sim. But I love it, haha.
