    I waited about a week before I was brave enough to go back to Lelutka, after briefly viewing the new Summer collection on release day and making mental notes of which one to pick up later. When I went this morning, it was nice and quiet… and lag free! A lot of people have amazing styles, looooves to mix and match and make a billion looks from different pieces; I'm not one of those people. I appreciate it when a designer sells me an outfit I can wear straight from the folder, or make separates and put them on the same wall so I have a visual cue that they belong together. This is the case with my Lelutka outfit below, I saw the adorable Louise shirt and right below it was the MO hot pants. Yum, this outfit is perfect.

    Truth released two new hairstyles this week and they're both adorable. The Truth Alex hairstyle has a color-changing headband, which happens to work perfectly with my outfit above. Chloe is a more casual style, very suiting for lounging around SL.

    I’ve been a Flickr contact of this SL resident since January 2010. I’ve always liked her stream, so today when a new image appeared on my Contacts stream, I clicked on it. It looked odd, so I showed my friends the picture. Someone pointed out that the picture is very old, from 2008 actually and not new at all. If I knew this picture was 5 years old, I wouldn’t have even commented about it, cos SL 5 years ago is dated, etc, not comparable to SL now. Anyway, I left a comment on this girl’s picture, asking if something was wrong with her Flickr stream, cos some images are now showing up as new. She deleted my comment. I commented again, she blocked me and disabled comments.

    I’ve used Flickr since 2007, and besides the obvious trolls and alt accounts, I have never encountered someone so rude. I guess I’m disappointed, cos I thought her stream was pretty fun to look at, at times. She already had 60+ comments on this particular picture from 2008, why did she have to change the date, to get more views/comments? Why do people do this?

    Flickr Etiquette Rules:

    1. Don’t change the date of your pics, so that they appear new and show up on top of the contacts stream over, and over, and over, and over.

    2. Set the right Safety Level (Boobs = moderate, Sex = Restricted).

    3. If you post a rant on Flickr, people will comment favorably/unfavorably. If you don’t want any comments, disable it from the start, not halfway through the conversation.

    4. Never post those irritating Flickr award gifs, delete and block anyone that does.

    5. Don’t tag people to get their attention when they are not in the picture. (from Darkley)

    LaGyo

    I’m not usually a dramatic hat kinda girl, but I totally fell in love with the Vessel Headpiece from LaGyo. I think this hat is part of the LaGyo Mademoiselle collection, a very feminine and gorgeous new jewelry and accessories line. I’ll show the other pieces at another time cos I got distracted when I tried on this hat! It was instant loooove at first sight!!

    I wish more designers would released gorgeous frilly gowns that are more like, something you’d imagine Marie Antoinette might wear. I can’t think of anything recent except for Donna Flora’s Reine gown, which I wore and loved. I’m thinking this hat would be a great addition to any girlie pirate outfit (I haven’t seen many of those either). Someone please make one? In Pink and with frilly pants? I promise to wear it if it’s hot!

    While everyone is going gaga over skin fair, I’ve decided to wear one of my favorite skins from Laqroki. This Vilda skin was released back in December, so a little over a month and a half ago, but it’s still “newish” and so very pretty!

  • Why I moved iheartsl

    WordPress.com, despite being an awesome company has poor support.

    Yesterday when I logged in to SL, I received a bunch of notices alerting me that iheartsl was down. When I checked the dashboard, I did not see any "messages" from wordpress.com about any issue that needed to be resolved, so I tried to get in touch with support. Finally, after the blog was suspended someone wrote me back to let me know that the advertisements on iheartsl was a TOS violation, but I didn't have a chance to remove them? Apparently support had been in contact with someone who is not me for a month and that person promised they would be removed (very puzzling).

    That's why I moved the site off wordpress.com, because I had no choice. Over 650+ authors were signed up at iheartsl at the time and not having iheartsl would mean that a lot of people would not have a place to send their blog entries. For some, iheartsl was the only website they blogged on and/or were syndicated at, so I spent all evening moving the site over to Media Temple hosting.

    I know that some people liked that iheartsl had a community feel, because readers can leave comments on posts and interact with each other. But, since iheartsl has the resources to syndicate again (which we originally did back in January 2008), I have decided to do that instead of requiring people to sign up as authors first. Even though readers lose the ability to comment directly on each post, the bloggers now have the added convenience of not having to manually re-post on iheartsl.

    I'm currently working with support to get the iheartsl (wordpress) site back online so I can link to it, but I cannot import all 16,000+ blog entries because it exceeds the upload limit by A LOT! The wordpress upload limit for imports is 2MB, and with 16,000 blog entries the back-up file was 72MB, but I do have a copy of it if anybody can figure out how I can put it on, at least we would have an "archives" site and be able to restore all the comments from the past 2 years.

    I should also mention that I have made the decision to not syndicate iheartsl to fashionplanet anymore, since it would result in a lot of double-posts. And besides, iheartsl gets more traffic than fashionplanet and I'm positive that it will be more inclusive since Tao has not updated the site with new requests since last year.

    Anyways, I hope that clears up the situation a bit. I worked really
    hard to restore iheartsl back to a functional state when I figured that
    it probably won't be able to come back on wordpress.com, and I hope
    that it continues to be useful to many of SL's bloggers.

    If you haven't submitted your site for syndication, do it! 🙂

I’m really excited about Audrey because I think she looks nothing like what Tuli has done in the past – the face is completely different, and the brows and lips are just amazing.     Staying Warm with Aoharu

    This beige Tartan trench coat from Aoharu is perfect for Autumn weather!! I like the length a lot because it’s sexy and short but also not too revealing so I can choose to wear this coat without long pants. I actually hate wearing pants, so give me a short cutesy flexi skirt any day.

    Aoharu’s Leopard Pink Fur coat matches the Knit Boots in Baby Pink perfectly!! I love this Docomo hair from the hunt, it’s kind of short and messy. For some reason my av looks like she just woke up from a nap and is wandering around in a snow sim! :p

    Both of the hairs worn in this entry are from the Docomo hair hunt. If you haven’t gone, it’s totally worth the effort! Each hair is scripted to change to 7 different colors!
