I’m willing to bet that a lot of people haven’t heard of Canimal. This brand was one of my favorites in SL way way back in uh.. 2007-2008. I never did like the skins but I loved the casual clothes and some accessories. I haven’t worn my Canimal items in a long time, so when I read that Canimal is closing, I wondered what took so long? Nothing new was released for over one and a half years, so it didn’t come as a surprise.
I wonder if Canimal Zephyr will relaunch under a new brand or is this truly goodbye?
My prediction is that in 2011, we will see lots of “oldbie” designers re-branding or launching new brands to stay fresh.
I’m posting a picture of a few of my favorite Canimal items from back in the day. These things are considered so-so now, the seams are more noticeable than before. I was pretty newb then so I didn’t know to look for seams, and they didn’t really matter that much then. Designers in SL have improved so much and we pretty much expect items to be seamless or pretty darn close.

Hello Garlic Breath at Melee Island! I went back to Hair Fair, just to get this adorable free Royal Crown from ISON. Nothing in my inventory matches the crown, so I bought this gorgeous Ornate Dress from Pixicat. I’m super impressed with this brand, it was my first time shopping there. The shop has a small but lovely collection of role-play items and casual pieces too. The prices are also super affordable! This dress was $400L, and includes a HUD to change the skirt fabric (9 colors) or turn the skirt off and wear just the corset.
Role-play style is not something that I do very often, since I’m not even as good at it as Arica! She’s amazing, check out her blog. Her wardrobe is so different from mine, and so fantastic that I want to steal all of her gowns and pretty things!

I’m ready for autumn, pumpkin spice lattes, and all the cozy clothing that goes along with the season. The Arcade opened yesterday! To my surprise, there are some fabulous autumn decor and clothing available. I am wearing the Fall Essentials and Fall Vibes items from Reign. This gacha offering has such a nice color palette. I picked up the cardigan and dress in several colors, so I can mix-and-match them later.

I went to Elope Expo a couple weeks ago and ever since then I couldn’t stop thinking about doing a wedding look in SL. The problem is I didn’t feel like hunting down the perfect chapel backdrop just to take one photo, so I just added one with AI instead. I think enhancing SL photos with AI is fun, and clearly a lot of other residents do too because I see it everywhere on Social Media now. Some people are still loudly against it, but most people really don’t care. They just want to relax, be creative, and have fun. I’d rather someone recycle in real life than make “not using AI” their moral high ground.
Anyway, back to Elope Expo. I’m genuinely impressed by all the beautiful wedding content SL creators come up with. Even though partnering in SL has never really been my thing, I still love the whole wedding aesthetic. AI altered some of these details a little in my photo, but I’m wearing the Aveline Cathedral Veil from Purple Moon with the new Yara hairstyle from Mina, and they go perfectly together. Both are available at Elope Expo.
I also picked up this gorgeous Seraphina Dress from Eternus for only L$90 at the weekend sale. I always need more gowns, and I couldn’t pass up a deal. Now I kind of wish I bought the fatpack too, because this dress is seriously beautiful.
Should you still credit SL items if you used AI to edit the photo and things got altered a little? I think so. You can still judge the items for yourself and recreate the look if you want to. The final image is still like 90% the original styling anyway.

Meet Alva! This is the newest face from Laqroki skins, and it is just stunning. I am loving the new prices for skin packs ($990L) cos it’s so cheap, and well, I don’t really need all the extra makeups for any skin as long as there’s a great bare face.
Each skin tone comes with 5 lipsticks with bare eye makeup.
I purchased the new Alva brows tattoos cos I love Black brows for this skin. The default Alva skin has Brown brows option, which are nice too, but for $175L you get Red, Blonde, and Black Brows tattoo in your tone choice.
Your old Laqroki brows tattoos won’t work with this new skin, so please upgrade! The old brows were made for Laqroki’s Glow skins range, and yes, it is different. My friend tried to wear her old brows with the new Alva skin, and being a good friend I just couldn’t let that happen! Friends do not let friends wear brows tattoos that don’t quite match.

Does it come with LeLutka mesh head appliers?
Cute, but looks almost identical to every other pink fuel skin. All pink fuel skins have the same nose, same eyelids (aside from the asian eyelid options), and very very similar lips. The only real difference between each skin is different eyebrows.
More of the same old, same old….
I’ve never been overly fussed with Pink Fuel skins since they didn’t really suit the look I like going for (a bit more mature & realistic), but I played this gacha on a whim and I must say the skins looks absolutely adorable on me. Mochi is one of those skinners that improves with every release. Plus she discounted the appliers in the main store in the biscuit tone until the end of June.
As for the skins looking the same every release, well, are you sure you’re not mistaking them for Glam Affair?
