The more I wear a mesh head, the more I identify with it. I find that the best way to feel at home in a mesh head is to commit to it, wear it often, and then customize it until you love it. I worry that I look “just like everyone else” in the mesh head, but so far, I haven’t seen anyone else styling it the way that I do! Take my poll and let me know how often you wear your mesh head!
A few of my friends are very into PXL skins, so I decided to give the new PXL Candy skins a try. Even though I’m wearing this skin with Blonde hair, I really think it’s more suited for Brunettes because of the skin tone and brows color. Also, this face is more mature than I would like, but from my friends tell me, they prefer PXL for the mature face.
The body on this skin is quite nice, with very nice shadings and just a hint of glow on the skin. I did notice a lot of large freckles all over the body, and yeah, this adds realism, but I personally prefer a more flawless look.

The demo is a bit overwhelming with the avatar mesh lines covering the entire body, even the face. I hope that this changes with future releases, cos it makes it hard to inspect important areas for seams.

I totally remembered Bubblegum Weekends this week (I missed it last weekend), and this week I’m feeling a lil’ Minty. I tinted the new Head Mistress Wind in the Willows (White) hair to a light Mint Green, and it tinted really well. You can’t tell in the pictures but I tinted some strands slightly darker than the others to try and add some depth. Some hair textures don’t really tint well, but I find that most are tint-able, and they will look fine for pictures.

A few months ago, I blogged about MidJourney art in Second Life. Second Life designers are now using AI to create more than just pretty pictures for sale. AI can also create seamless textures, help with logo creations, and other graphic design elements. It can be used as a tool to help with the creative process if used wisely.
I’ve been playing around with Stable Diffusion to give my Second Life avatar more realism, but not so realistic that it looks like a morph. “Cake, what’s one of the most exclusive, immersive VR club experiences I can find nowadays?” you ask. I would immediately tell you, it’s Ghost Club.
Ghost Club is a cyberpunk EDM club that opens when the mysterious twitter user @gst_kkgr announces it. You can’t find the map on VRChat during the week, not even if it showed up as a private world on the aggregate map lister VRCW.
At 10pm Tokyo time (9am EST), GST uploads the club map and opens it to anyone who is a friend of someone currently visiting. They then tweet out a link to the instance the party is being held at, so you have to wait at their Twitter page to get the key.

I voted never, but it’s not because I don’t like any of the mesh heads (some of them are really nice!)… it’s because I feel like a copy of everyone else with one on.
It certainly has taken me a while to jump on board the mesh head train but now I can’t seem to take mine off! When I do take it off for whatever reason I feel like I’m looking at a stranger! And the options/customizations are only getting better.
I’ve been away from SL for a few years and I don’t know where to start with these mesh body parts. I don’t understand it lol I don’t know if it’s a must. Do I have to commit to just 1 brand and go with that? I see there are like 3-5 top brands that offer mesh parts. If i get slink feet do I get boobs elsewhere and a butt and hand elsewhere? I am so lost.
Is there a info guide somewhere? That would be so useful 🙂

Hi Leigh! There are a few brands in SL that offers complete bodies — SLink, Maitreya, Belleza, to name the top 3 that I can think of at the moment. When you buy those bodies, they include hands, feet, boobs, butt, etc — the whole body! Well, SLink sells hands & feet separately, but as far as I know, you can wear SLink feet with other brands. It’s actually simpler now that there are skin appliers, tinting is a thing of the past, yay!

Ohh okay, thank you for replying and for the info 😀 I did go to Slink and I think Pink Fuel – omg, I see what the fuss is about. So many options, so easy to apply. Haven’t yet figured out if we can actually “mod” the faces other than options given on the hud. I will keep reading and experimenting.
