Hello from Baja Norte! If you want to take nice photos in SL, the most important step is to find a nice outdoor place. I prefer photographing on beach sims with lots of water and sky cos I can play with windlight settings and make the surrounding any color I want.
I love this new Empty Pages hairstyle from Exile, available at C88. I like long hairstyles in SL, especially side swept cos it’s more natural. I occasionally like short hairstyles too, but long hairstyles will always feel more ‘me’.

“The Z Bag” is the newest release from Zooby’s and it is beautifully textured and the sculpties are amazing. The bag is texture-changing and includes an adorable and ultra-realistic looking animated puppy! I…….LOVE………YOU yummy new Z Bag! I have just one pet irl, but in SL I have at least a dozen dogs + cats combined. Too much is never enough, when it comes to cute animals.

This dog, which I’ve named Baby J is animated and has the cutest facial animations!!! Loook at him!!!! And the bag is to die for. It could easily be on Nordstrom’s website and I wouldn’t even know that it wasn’t real. It’s THAT realistic looking.
I’m anxiously waiting for Carrie Tatsu of Zooby’s to release the MALTESE version of this bag, my favorite dog in the entire world!!

Hello from around SL! Searching for a proper inside-of-an airplane in SL is impossible, so I settled on two airport locations to use as backdrops for my stewardess look.
I’ve chosen SLPG Prague Airport as my first location, and created an outfit based on the colors here. I’m wearing the new Oxford Pencil Skirt from Mon Tissu in Black, and pairing it with the Gill Blouse in White from VictoriaV. I really like this blouse, the texture is amazing and goes perfectly with this skirt. I wish there was an all White version of this top (without the black collar) so I can wear it with the skirts in other colors too (hint hint to VictoriaV).
I’ve been dying to re-create the Pan Am stewardess look, so of course I had to wear the Airline Blue colored skirt! Yumix Airport has gorgeous vintage airplanes rezzed there, so it was perfect for this look. I searched around my inventory for a proper White blouse, and found a sort-of military/stewardess looking shirt from the 4Minute outfit by Sweetest Goodbye (now closed). I have a few other White Blouses that I could have worn with this skirt, but they showed too much cleavage and didn’t look right for the Pan Am stewardess look.
Also I have to mention this really important (and exciting) thing about the new Oxford Pencil Skirt! This skirt is a rigged mesh skirt, but it does not require you to change your shape to wear it. It should fit almost everyone with no adjustments cos the “skirt” is actually only partially mesh — as you can see, some of the skirt is made up of texture pants, and the mesh area is only visible between the legs, but it blends so flawlessly!!! I did a picture to show you guys how this all works, but definitely try a demo at the store. This is like… a very advanced crotch prim 2.0 😛

Two years ago, I blogged about the Genus 2.0 update and then never wore the head again. It was easily forgettable, especially since the brands I actually wear don’t make skins for Genus, whether that’s regular BoM or 2k or 4k. I’ve always found Genus confusing because if you’re wearing regular BoM, you can’t mix makeup from that with a 4k skin. It creates unnecessary compatibility barriers that can get complicated and expensive very quickly.
When Genus sent me the 3.0 update, I decided to give it another look. They promised PBR support, a 2k skin, improved anatomy and expressions, and more. I really think Genus should have included a 4k skin with this update. Almost all of the makeup in my inventory is made for Genus 4k, so I couldn’t even properly wear the head here with the included 2k skin. I’m also not sure I care about PBR on a mesh head yet, at least not until my body, Maitreya, also releases an update. Right now it just means a glowing head with a flat looking body.
Two years later, the skin brands I wear still aren’t making Genus skins. Their focus is clearly on LeLutka EvoX, and there’s no real effort to diversify. So while I do appreciate a free update from Genus, and I always like when brands continue to support their products, I don’t see myself wearing this head again any time soon.
If you want a different look and you already own a Genus head, it’s definitely worth trying. One thing I’ve always loved about Genus is how beautiful the side profile is. But when it comes to features and overall ease, I moved on to LeLutka EvoX years ago, and I have no interest in complicating my life by switching back to Genus.
