Caroline gave me this floral head accessory from LODE. I’ve worn a lot of hair things from LODE, but they’re mostly sold as gacha items so not always easy to get the right color for my outfits.
Look at my sparkly shoes! I love these Mila Suede Boots from The Secret Store. These shoes includes a HUD to change the main suede colors and the accent textures. I immediately gravitated towards the sparkly accent cos I don’t have anything like it in SL.

I went to the Arcade to specifically play for the Movement Grab and Go set. I needed everything here cos I love holdables/wearables and anything that’s juicy (aka fruits). I love beds that you can do things in! The new Priya bed from MudHoney is packed with PG and Adult poses for Singles, Cuddles or Friends. I particularly like that it gives props, so I can pretend to read or play the laptop. If you guys like to do other things, that’s available too. This bed is also scripted to color-change, and comes with matching bed curtains.
This pose is animated, and looks adorable in-world!! MudHoney has always been one of my favorite places for furniture, cos the poses included are so usable and adorable.
I went to checked outAnthology, a new event, that starts on the 19th of each month. It’s like stepping into a slice of pastel-colored Italy with Italian-esque storefronts and staircases connecting different levels. It’s a lively setup, giving off that festive theme park energy but in a virtual setting.
With Anthology making its grand entrance, I felt it was only fitting to dress the part. I picked out the Eostre Dress from Enfant Terrible, which comes in both sheer and opaque options. The best part? The dress includes a HUD that lets you play with the colors of almost everything—the straps, petals, skirt, and even the underskirt. I chose the sheer version, which manages to be both sophisticated and appropriately modest thanks to the underskirt.
No ensemble’s complete without a little sparkle. That’s where the Kirana Armlets from Michan come in. They perfectly match the dress, and with the customizable HUD, you can change the metals, the jewels, and even hide certain parts of the armlet for a more personalized look. It’s got me thinking I should step up my game and wear long dresses with ornate jewelry more often.
I didn’t need or even want a new mesh head, but for L$99 I decided to give the Akeruka Milena head a try. I haven’t worn an AK head in a long time, so I honestly don’t remember what I thought of them before. Today I’ll share my honest reaction to this Milena head. First of all, it works really well right out of the box. Since it’s made for EvoX, I was able to wear the exact same skin and makeup that I already use with my LeLutka EvoX head. I didn’t have to press any buttons or change settings to get it to work, it just did, and that was a nice surprise.
As with any new mesh head, I tried to tweak the shape to look like Gogo. The nose and lips were fairly easy to adjust, but the eyes gave me a hard time. I wasn’t happy with the profile or the chin either, which were the most challenging areas for me. I also noticed that no matter how I adjusted my shape, the closed-eye animation made my eyeballs poke through the eyelids. The eyes are rigged too tightly against the lids, so that’s definitely a problem if you like to use blinking or closed-eye animations.
Even though this head is only L$99, I don’t think it’s inferior to Akeruka’s full-priced mesh heads. It seems to be the same product, with the same HUD and the same challenges. I really hope those issues get fixed, because overall it’s easy to use and looks great right away.
If you just want a pretty face and don’t care about closing your eyes or using animations, this head might be perfect for you.
Every year I make my way to the Spoonful of Sugar Festival to support Doctors Without Borders and, of course, pick up some goodies from some of my favorite Second Life brands while I’m there.
Just like last year, AlaskaMetro has an amazing L$10 gift at the event. This year it’s a pack of Vintage China nails, which I’m wearing today and absolutely love. Izzie’s also has a Chest Details pack at the festival, and you wouldn’t think I’d willingly add imperfections to my perfectly good pixel body, but apparently I do! The pack includes chest freckles, redness, and moles, but I like the chest redness, so I’m wearing that with today’s look. Sometimes those tiny imperfections are exactly what make a Second Life avatar look a little more interesting and realistic.
The Spoonful of Sugar Festival runs through September 27, so you still have time to shop and support a good cause. There’s also a gacha and raffle area where you can win even more goodies and gift cards from some popular Second Life brands. If you’re going to shop anyway, you might as well do a little good while you’re at it!
I’ve officially given up on cleaning my inventory. Easter hunts completely wrecked it, and I’m done wasting time trying to fix it. I’m sitting at 106k today, which… I wish was lower, but at this point I don’t even know what to delete anymore.
I did a little shopping this weekend and it made me realize how much I appreciate brands that release a proper pair of pants. I love ISON for that. Most of their stuff actually covers everything and still feels really classy. I can’t even remember which event I picked up these Maisie Corduroy Trousers from, but they’re really good.
Normally I’m very basic. I just wear whatever the newest release is that everyone else is wearing that weekend. But this time I decided to dig deeper into my inventory and put something together that probably nobody else is wearing right now. I remembered this amazing fur coat from Dami, an old gacha from forever ago. The whole outfit ended up being a mix of old and new, plus a few freebies thrown in.
I think I like Gogo as a blonde, but it’s getting harder when some hair brands just don’t do good blonde textures anymore. I don’t know what happened to Stealthic, but the blondes just aren’t hitting like they used to. It didn’t work for this look at all, so I switched to a light brown instead. This hair was supposed to be part of Fifty Linden Friday, but I still ended up paying like L$199 because I needed the full pack just to change the style. Not really a sale if you can’t even use the features, right?
Overall I’m feeling a little burnt out with my inventory, and honestly with where clothing is at in Second Life right now. It feels like we’ve hit a bit of a standstill. I should already have everything I want and need at this point. And yet… I still keep buying things. I guess I’m doing my part to keep the economy going.
