I coveted the Ichigo Spirit outfit from Insomnia Angel (@ Arcade), but I didn’t want to play for it. Thankfully, my friend let me borrow this outfit so I could frolic around SL for a while as the cutest Strawberry girl.
I have a love/hate relationship with Gachas in SL. I don’t play for pieces of clothing anymore, it’s too frustrating. I need to stop playing for decor too, cos I tried to win a bed this round and won everything but the bed, lol.

Do you know why I’m standing in most of my SL photos? Because poses in SL are terrible when your limbs bend in any way. I want to sit down. When I do sitting poses, my limbs go into each other or the clothes or the furniture. It’s all terrible. SL has advanced so much, but we’re still using the same old poses. When brands label their poses “bento poses” it really doesn’t mean anything. Unless it’s an animation specifically for a bento mesh object (like the mesh heads animations) – static poses are still crazy. They’re made exactly the same way they have always been, and they don’t look right. I’m so tired of editing my photos to look “not crazy” in sitting poses. I’m not great at redrawing an entire limb or sleeve in photoshop, so it will always look off.

I’ve been enjoying creating my own simple backgrounds for blog photos. I am particularly obsessed with the new Mae wall panels from Apple Fall. However, if Apple Fall is reading this, I wish they would consider revisiting the Bramble Panel and create a HUD for it. To make the background even cuter, I added some Wildflower Garlands from Dust Bunny.
Anthology has just opened for another round! I am thrilled about this Bruna purse from Alma. It is modifiable, which allows me to tint the bag in any colors I desire! Additionally, it comes with a nice selection of colors through the HUD. I was particularly excited to tint the gold hardware a little darker to match the gold hearts on my top. This top is the Mia top from Aurica, also available at the event. I truly appreciate items that are modifiable, as it enables me to create a cohesive look. I do not understand the rationale behind “no mod,” but I assume it is because brands believe they can sell more colors or want to maintain control over their aesthetics. Personally, I prefer softer colors, so I value the ability to tint items slightly. Furthermore, it has become quite challenging to match colors now that PBR lighting is the standard. Being able to adjust this little bit of gold on the purse made it work perfectly for me.

Have you visited Hair Fair? Exile launched one of my favorite new hairstyles at Hair Fair, along with new textures and a redesigned HUD. I’ve been wearing this Audrey hairstyle for days, it’s my favorite hair at the moment.
The Avatar Welcome Pack is now available in the library and is free for all residents. To use it, copy the entire pack from the library into your inventory. I decided to challenge myself by dressing from head to toe in free items. Additionally, SeraPlus, the newly released gift pack from Seraphim, is also available. However, this gift pack is for paid residents only, meaning you need to be a Plus, Premium, or Premium Plus member to access it. I chose to mix and match items from both of these packs to create my version of Gogo Lite. Given the limitations of this mesh head and body, I think I did fairly well.
Almost immediately, I noticed that because I was using the lite Avalon head, I lack a HUD to control various features – can’t change lashes, expressions, HD makeups, etc. Furthermore, some of the shape sliders for facial adjustments are disabled. While I could edit about 90% of the features, one slider I really wanted to use, the chin depth slider, was unfortunately unavailable.
UPDATE: You can edit the chin slider and all of the sliders if you wear ANY BODY that is not Legacy Lite. I was able to edit the Avalon Lite head when I’m wearing the Maitreya LaraX body.
This is my first time wearing Legacy, so I can’t provide an informed opinion about it. Since it was free, I took the opportunity. However, I spent quite some time searching for a long sleeve alpha to cover my elbows, which were poking through the top; this was not included in Riot’s package. I assume the SeraPlus gift is aimed at residents with the full Legacy body, but if you search for it, you can likely find a free alpha to hide the arms. I also added a random shorts alpha to maintain modesty, as there were instances where private areas peeked through in various poses.
As for the Avatar Welcome Pack, while they stated that HUDs were omitted to simplify things for new residents, I believe HUDs are crucial for learning. It would have been beneficial to include at least some HUDs or controls. Though I find the free body and head adequate, the inability to hide certain body parts is a significant limitation. To top it off, I noticed I don’t have any fingernails, and the nails on the body skin I’m wearing is a hot mess on the Legacy lite body.
Overall, whether you’re a new resident or an experienced player looking spruce up your avatar, the Avatar Welcome Pack provides lots of items to get you started. If you prefer not to spend any money at all, I recommend checking out FabFree for all the latest freebie offerings.
Have you been to Cara Bella? This newly launched brand from Piper Ashdene (formerly Aden Breyer) has just released the Arianna skins in 5 skin tones, and 8 makeups. I’ve been seeing teasers of this skin for a week now, so I was quite excited to try it on myself.
Arianna also comes with brow options, and cleavage enhancers & dehancers tattoos.

I did notice that the “Enhancer” shading is much too dark for it to look natural, but the natural cleavage (on the skin itself) and the Dehancer is just right.
The body on Arianna was decent, except for this large seam on the inner thigh and a very faint one on the torso. This area must be incredibly hard for skin creators cos I noticed that many brands have this issue.
Overall, I like this skin but it needs some improvement. The lips corners are shaded too dark, I had to reduce my Lip Fullness slider to fix that area (but I want bigger lips!!). I also didn’t like the Blonde brows as much as I like this Dark Brows color. Lots of designers simply cannot do convincing Blonde brows. And I hope Piper makes changes to the Enhancer shading! That’s pretty much all of my critique… this is a skin review, after all.
