Anthology event announced that May will be the last round. This is the only event that I’m a blogger for, so it feels kind of sad seeing it end after two years. But honestly, I also think there are too many events on the grid, so losing one is probably healthy overall for the Second Life economy.
Events create this rushed mentality for both creators and consumers. Before I even get a chance to unpack and show you my latest outfit, it’s already three releases old from the same creator. Now it feels dated, it’s no longer at whatever event it launched at, and I don’t even know if it made it to the main store. Events are not that great for bloggers.
My blog posts sell items long after I post them. Years later, people still find old blog posts and go shopping. That’s why event blogging has always felt weird to me, because the content expires so fast. I’ve always been hesitant to sign up for event blogging because I don’t actually want to feel obligated to blog anything. Anthology was super nice about it though. You just blogged a few items per round and could pretty much blog whatever you wanted. Blogger’s choice.
Even though I still blog fashion, I also want to blog about so many other things in SL. That’s why I don’t really sign up to officially blog for a lot of brands or events. If I’m only blogging, on average, once a week, I don’t want my content dominated by one thing. I’m too scattered for that.
So I guess this post is really just to say that Anthology will be missed, at least by me. It was me dipping my toes into event blogging and realizing I probably couldn’t handle a massive event with super strict blogging rules.
Anyway, don’t ask me why I decided to shoot these photos in the dark. Then I realized you couldn’t even see my shoes, so I had to go back and change the EEP light settings.
I love loafers, and these are the Elaine Shoes by Arltos at Anthology. I don’t know how long Arltos has been around, but I only really started noticing them fairly recently, maybe within the past two years? I wear low heels, loafers, flats, sandals, and sneakers. I’m not a fan of sky high shoes. They look uncomfortable, even on virtual feet.
Violet Voltaire and Katat0nik Pidgeon have collaborated to make this vibrant and yummy Dia De Los Muertos dress & jewelry set!! Katat0nik’s dress comes in black, blue, dark pink, green, purple, orange, red, teal white… TONS of colors, basically! The matching jewelry set by Violet Voltaire includes earrings, a necklace, bracelets, and hair bows.

Close-up of Katat0nik’s Dia De Los Muertos skirt. Isn’t it gorgeous?
Normally I don’t rush out and buy a pair of shoes just for an outfit, but I saw these gorgeous Shiny Things Tuli pumps on Achariya during a group photo session and made a mental note to *RUN* and get myself some. Shown above is the Tulip Pumps in Hot Pink with a color changeable bow (11 different colors).
Here’s the ad, I’m totally hijacking it from Kat for my website. Can you identify the bloggers/designers in this photo? 😛
✿ cheLLe ✿ Glamour Puss includes six vibrant tattoo eyeshadows that can be worn over any skin. This package also includes bonus Black eyeshadow & a pair of Glamour Puss brows.
The brows do not need to be worn for these shadows to work, but they are recommended if you want to minimize creasing and show off the eyeshadows more smoothly.
✿ cheLLe ✿ Leopard Spots is now out at the main store! Thank you to everyone who went to the memorial site for Cliff, the event has now ended.
Say hello to the Reindeer Chihuahua! I’ve skimmed the feed, and lots of people are dressed in sexy Santa suits or uh, nothing at all? But then again, every holiday in SL is an occasion for people to wear nothing at all. I have definitely become more prudish as I get older in SL, and I think that reflects in my outfit choices. This look is festive, and classy.

Let’s have a Boho Holiday with this gorgeous new release from Teefy, for The Arcade. There are lots of Native American inspired items in SL, but they are not high quality, or they’re very dated items from pre-mesh days. I really admire Teefy for being one of the first designers to really explore this niche, and create such a gorgeous collection. I had a couple of ideas in mind for this shoot, but finding a nice desert sim that allowed rezzing was next to impossible.
Although Tableau is not a Native American role-play sim, the desert style and warm colors are wonderful, and serves as an amazing backdrop for this look.
The Holiday Boho Kit from Teefy includes a Leather-Made Goat Head Backpack (which I hope to show in a future post), Aurelia Summer High-Low Dress, Feather Crown Headband (rare) and Feather Headdress (rare). My favorite item is the Feather Headdress, it’s so beautiful and extremely well-made.
I was concerned that some people might view wearing this headdress in SL as disrespectful to Native American culture, so before you yell at me, I am aware of its importance and symbolism. I asked my friend in SL who is Native American if he would find my post offensive, and he said no, but if you are offended by this post, please understand that I am not presenting this in an obscene or derogatory way.
