Second Life’s 19th Birthday!

Hello from SL19B! This year’s Second Life birthday celebration is shaping up to be one of the best yet. I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to wear the Pathos Skirt & Blouse from toksik, and this is it! I just checked the date, and this was purchased in March 2021. I’ve been considering wearing it for over a year. I went to a couple of the main attractions at SL19B, and the Tapestry of Time was my favorite.

Look at 2006, it’s my rez year! So many exciting things happened this year, if you can read the facts. As part of my college courses, I received a subscription to Business Week, and one of the issues featured a virtual land baron named Anshe Chung. I signed up for Second Life right away, even though I didn’t love it right away. I eventually logged on more during Thanksgiving holiday and began spending money like crazy. I spent more than $300 USD per month until the following year when I purchased my first region and began earning rental income.

Second Life has been an incredible journey; here’s to many more! I had my ups and downs here, but I’m glad I decided to start playing. I’ve learned a lot of skills here that have helped me get jobs in the real world. For example, I’ve been blogging since I was a teenager, so starting a fashion blog when I joined Second Life seemed natural. I learned the fundamentals of Photoshop thanks to my blog, JuicyBomb, which led to me learning a few other apps in the Adobe Suite, which helped me land real-world media jobs. Even though I play this game for fun, I’m constantly honing my real-life skills by doing things I’ve learned in Second Life.
