The Second Life SL20B Sweepstakes saw the majority of its prizes being won by residents from the United States, with the grand prize being a 2023 Chevy Bolt EV car valued at $27,495 USD. This drew resentment from residents living outside the U.S., as the value of the prizes were not equal for all. To prevent this issue in the future, prizes should be equal in value for all residents, as well as ensuring that enough kiosks are available to avoid a ‘busy’ error when too many people are clicking at once.
I emailed the sweepstakes company to get a list of winners. If you would like to request that list, the details on how to get it are available on the contest website.
This list has the prize and where the winner lives:
Grand Prize – 2023 Chevy Bolt EV

The store needed more posters, so I decided to wear my Bare Rose – Streaks outfit with a pair of Juicy Classic Pumps in Peppercorn (black patent leather + beige sole) and Cake – Swoon hair! This is one of my favorite hair from Cake because it’s sooo smooth, it’s perfect.
The Stitch By Stitch Emily Dress is full of Orangey goodness!! It’s a little too early to start thinking about Autumn, but I just love love love all the colors. The Emily dress is perfect for lounging around on a beautiful Autumn day. I was so inspired I snapped some in-world pics on my sim, and at BettiePage Voyager’s Furniture shop location.
@ BP’s Furniture Shop. I love the concept of this shop! When you land, you’re in a field of wildflowers, to get to the actual shop, you have to walk inside a barn and fall briefly down the stairs and there’s the shop.
Hello from Joyful Gardens! The talented and sweet Hedy Heartsong cultivates this delightful garden. On the ground level, you wouldn’t guess that the entire region is meticulously terraformed into the shape of a tree with a bird soaring above and a squirrel nestled in the corner. Creative terraforming breathes life into virtual spaces, making exploration so much fun!
As I wandered through the enchanting paths of Joyful Gardens, I stumbled upon a cozy little party area brimming with charm. The couples’ dance poses and the tantalizing array of pastries were an irresistible invitation. Mmm… care to dance with me under the digital stars?
Now, let’s dive into the world of Fashionably Dead. This brand has been a staple in the virtual fashion scene for quite some time. Admittedly, I had overlooked it in the past, favoring brands with hyper-realistic textures over those with a more hand-drawn aesthetic. However, Fashionably Dead has evolved, with their textures now boasting a more realistic and polished look.
Back in March, my friend sent me the most adorable outfit from Fashionably Dead. Piece by piece, she kept adding to my collection until I couldn’t ignore the brand any longer. I realized it was high time to add Fashionably Dead to my shopping repertoire. One of my recent favorites is the Mermaid Cami dress and the matching Mermaid Purse from Fashionably Dead, which I picked up at Fameshed. The ensembles come in both PBR and non-PBR versions. I’m currently wearing the PBR version, which features a subtle, lovely sheen on the fabric. Simply enchanting!
SL was not being very nice to me today, I didn’t know that it put a line through all my pictures until I started cropping them! 🙁
I’ve been slacking off on fashion blogging a bit cos I bought a new skybox apartment! I’m really not a skybox dweller, but I really adore Lya Chau’s SweetBox apartment. I also have the Apartment 1.0, which is a more Japanese style apartment. If you’re looking for something fantastic, check out her shop on Marketplace. I stumbled upon this brand on Marketplace, I don’t think there is an in-world presence.
Anyways, welcome to my place! Check it out…
This skybox has a living room, kitchen, bedroom, bath, and hallway. It was easy to decorate, I re-used some stuff I had in my inventory already (from past homes) and also purchased a couple of new things.
All the furniture and decors are from LISP Bazaar, MudHoney, Nordari, North West, artilleri, and a couple of artwork pieces from Mijn Boa (she’s no longer in SL). I’m almost out of prims, so this is it for now! I’ll probably personalize it a bit more and try to squeeze more stuff in LOL.
I think my friend Wilma is addicted to T Junction t-shirts. She sent me another one last week with this quote on it, “I am the bitch you love to hate.” I don’t normally wear tacky shirts irl but I love this one in SL.
In SL, somebody somewhere thinks I’m a bitch. It doesn’t bother me at all, cos they probably deserved the Gogo bitch wrath 😛
Oh also, I bought the best dollarbie handbag this morning from JE*Republic. The La vie est belle bag (Valentine) edition is $1L and it’s glittery and sparkly and awesome.
What I’m Wearing:
LeLutka – IFElight-Haiti(D Brows)
Exile – Gossip Girl (Harlow)
T Junction – I’m the bitch… t-shirt
Zaara -Ishaya Velour Slacks (Beige) part of RFL special outfit
JE*REPUBLIC – La vie est belle bag (Valentine)
Ingenue – Lithium::Crimson&Snow pumps
There was an attempt to give George, my male alt, a wardrobe refresh because I realized I haven’t shown him on the blog since… probably last year. I logged in with the simple goal of changing his outfit and taking a few photos, but instead I was greeted with an update for the Signature Gianni body. George was happily wearing Gianni v6.1, and the new release is called Gianni X v7.5. I really should have known that the “X” meant “none of your old clothes are going to fit anymore.”
After trying on a few things and realizing that most of his wardrobe barely worked with the new body, I did what any reasonable person would do and switched him right back to Gianni v6.1. I don’t have time to rebuild an entire closet from scratch, so I’ll either wait for brands like Deadwool to add Gianni X sizes or George will just be living his best life on v6.1 forever. A friend suggested that I switch him over to Belleza Jake because it has better clothing support, but I honestly can’t remember why I picked Signature Gianni when I made him last year. I’m sure I had a good reason at the time. Legacy isn’t even a consideration because… reasons.
So instead of writing the blog post I had planned, I spent the evening wandering from store to store trying to figure out male fashion. I even stopped by Man Cave to grab the latest freebies and didn’t see much for Gianni X there either, which left me wondering how men in Second Life deal with all of this. Women’s bodies are already complicated, but I’ve been shopping for them for years and know exactly which creators I like, which bodies they support, and where to find things. Male clothing feels like learning a completely different game, and I am absolutely a noob who has no idea what she’s doing.
The whole experience reminded me of a funny story from last year when I first made George. I was teleporting around men’s stores and IMing well-dressed avatars to ask where they shopped, and one guy replied, “I don’t have time for this,” before brushing me off. At the time I thought it was unfriendly, but after spending an evening trying to dress a male avatar, I completely understand. I’m not even mad because, honestly, I don’t have time for this either.
Today’s photo brought me to another realization that somehow escaped me until now: couple poses don’t seem to fit anybody. Why can’t we edit multiple avatars with the built-in Second Life poser and actually see those adjustments in-world? Every pose edits fixes only my avatar while my alt just had to make do the pose he was in. By the time finished editing the photo, I realized George’s hands were still locked to the hand pose selected on his body HUD instead of the animation I was using. Oops.
If you have any shopping recommendations for male avatars or some secret trick that makes couple photography less of a headache, please share, because I feel like I’m starting from zero and could use all the help I can get.
