New Year, New Body

New Year, New Body
The Skinnery – Luna BodySkin

For what feels like over ten years, the Pink Fuel body has been my absolute go-to. Somehow I managed to pair it successfully with a variety of bodies and mesh heads. Lately, skin creators seem to focus more on designing just head skins and suggest we find body skins from other brands like Velour. But I’ve kept up, even matching the most recent head skins to my trusted Pink Fuel body.

However, the other day, I felt the urge to try something new for my body skin. What I discovered was fascinating; Second Life brands have outdone themselves. The array of tattoo layer enhancements is staggering. They range from the usual details like wrinkles and body shadows to the more unique ones, including pregnancy looks and scars.

It appears there’s a body skin for every face skin out there, thanks to neck blenders that promise a seamless look. There might be times when the match isn’t perfect, but it’s usually good enough to avoid visible seams. After trying various options, I settled on the Luna BodySkin from The Skinnery, attracted by its authentic imperfections. Up until now, I’ve worn smooth and flawless skins, but I find myself yearning for more natural pores and veins. The reason I chose The Skinnery body skins over the more prolific Velour is becauseI like cooler skin tones, and this particular tone seems to be a good match with my face.

Why is Velour so prolific?

Have you been seeing all your go-to skin brands hyping up Velour recently and thought, “What’s up with that?” Velour’s popularity is taking off because they offer a kit that lets skin designers easily create matching skin tones. Skin designers can now focus on crafting just the face skins without sweating over creating a bazillion body options everyone’s been nagging them for. And yep, you guessed it, even The Skinnery’s jumping on the bandwagon, offering a kit and inviting skin designers to collaborate. I welcome all brands to consider offering a kit so that there are a variety of body and skin tone options out there for customers to choose from.

Boataom skin for my body, in the Goddess Citrine 07 color. Amazing detail and back dimples that are subtle instead of looking like like two black holes.
