I was so excited to see Kuni at Hair Fair this year. It’s one of my favorite hair brands in Second Life. The textures look especially gorgeous when you turn on materials because there is a realistic shine that brings everything to life. It blends beautifully with SL skins and really adds to the realism of your avatar.
If you have not checked out Hair Fair yet, you definitely should. Every single item donates a percentage to Wigs for Kids, a smaller charity that could really use the support, especially right now. You get amazing hair and help a great cause at the same time. It’s a win win.
The LOLO Pet Shop has just released these adorable tiny Mesh Birds, and they’re just my kind of pet in SL. These birds do not need to be fed, they don’t need attention (petting, playing), and you can’t even breed them! Just buy one bird, or a few birds (if you want to collect all the colors) and watch these lil’ darlings fly around you OR set it to perch on top of your shoulder.
The LOLO Mesh Birds is scripted with these functions: follow fly, follow walk, roam small, roam, roam large, fly, sleep (reset), chill, walk, rename, and name display.
These birds have transfer permission only, so they’ll make a great gift but you’ll have to be careful not to lose them!
I love to make random blog challenges, so here’s a new one for you guys!
I’ve noticed that lots of fashion photos in SL focuses on the front, but rarely ever the back side. Let’s show our derrieres some equal love! <3
Blog Challenge:
Take a picture that shows off your derriere (booty), and blog or post it to the Blog Challenge group on Flickr.
Your image can be clothed or nude, but the derriere should be the focus. Be creative! The image does not need to include text, but you can label it if you want to.
This challenge starts now, and ends whenever the next challenge is posted.
If you decide to do this, please leave your URL to your blog post or Flickr image in the comments of this post, so we can all check it out. Thanks!
It felt like just yesterday that I left Genus behind and made the switch back to LeLutka Fleur, but it has been 10 months since Fleur released, according to my blog history! And now 10 months later, I am making another mesh head change to the latest LeLutka Evolution X Avalon mesh head.
This “currently crashing out” print on the Honey Cropped Tank from The Kiwi Co. feels a little too relatable right now, because mainland has been testing me lately.
When I first went Premium back in 2019 to get a Linden Home, it was also the first time I could finally own mainland. I eventually bought a snowy parcel that I absolutely loved and kept it from 2022 onward. It was extremely landlocked and surrounded on three sides by massive ugly ice walls from neighboring parcels, but somehow I still made it work because I liked the region.
Recently, several abandoned coastal parcels nearby became available after a former neighbor left. I submitted support tickets hoping to expand naturally into the coastline, but instead the parcels were sent individually to auction. I managed to buy some of them, but after getting outbid on the final piece, I realized I was done fighting with the region. The walls finally won.
I still wanted snow land though, so I moved a couple regions over and spent a pretty significant amount acquiring new coastal land through auctions and direct purchase from a land baron. In total, it probably cost around $500 USD worth of Lindens, but I was excited to finally own a beautiful coastal snow parcel.
Then I discovered a 32m micro parcel sitting directly in the middle of my new land.
The owner had no other land in the region and was asking L$32,000 for it.
That isn’t normal land use. It’s extortion.
I submitted another support ticket hoping Linden Lab would step in, especially since Second Life already has a policy against land cutting practices. Unfortunately, my request was denied, and no discretion was used to resolve what is very obviously a bad-faith micro parcel situation. That part is what disappoints me the most.
As someone still relatively new to mainland ownership, I’m starting to understand why so many residents say mainland can be incredibly frustrating. One bad neighbor or one strategically placed micro parcel can completely ruin an otherwise beautiful area.
And if anyone is wondering how my planned move from Gaeta 1 to New Zindra is going, it isn’t. I bought Gaeta 1 land back on April 15, but after realizing I’d likely be at the very end of the migration queue, I decided to put everything up for sale instead. At this point, I’d rather just settle into my snow land and enjoy it in peace.
New Tiny Bird hair!! I’m wearing the Girl Anachronism, Love Letter to Japan, and Love Letter to Japan II in Flour hair color. These are adorable…..!!!
Tuli has also just released some cute & casual clothes. I’m wearing the worn denim capris paired with the wide collar shirt in White and wide sleeve shirt in Tangerine.
I wanted to wear a handbag with my look today but it was on the same attachment as my collar, so I lost that in the picture below. Still, I love this look and the white hair goes great with this skin tone.
