LeLutka Mesh Head 4.0 Update

LeLutka Mesh Head 4.0 Update
LeLutka Mesh Head – Avalon | Ubon | Billie

It’s raining updates! LeLutka just updated lots of their mesh heads to version 4.0. You can see the full list on their Flickr page and get your free update! I wrote a blog post about Billie 4.0 when it came out in March, so check that out if you want to see what’s new.

Besides some minor HUD updates, the most exciting thing is the addition of another HD lips layer. Now, you can mix and match lipsticks and glosses!

LeLutka Mesh Head 4.0 Update

If you like making shapes and editing faces as much as I do, this is like Christmas. I’ve updated my Avalon and Ubon faces to 4.0, and while I was at it, I tweaked my shape a bit too. Here you can see how each mesh head is very similar yet slightly different. The great thing about LeLutka heads is that even if you’re using the very first EvoX release, Avalon, or a newer one like Billie, they all have the same features.

Tropical Vacation

Tropical Vacation

Hello from Badu-Fiji! You can take a virtual vacation in Second Life to anywhere, it’s just a teleport away. When I landed at here, I was instantly greeted with a lei gift. I’ve been in a tropical mood since I bought this Tropical Vibe decor set from Movement. I intended to share a link to this product from Flickr, but, it seems the brand’s account has vanished.

Since I started blogging in 2007, I’ve primarily used Flickr as my platform of choice to connect with Second Life residents and brands. Flickr stands out to many users due to its comprehensive set of features suitable for photo hosting combined with its social networking capabilities. However, there has been a worrying trend where several Second Life community members have experienced bans from Flickr. Such bans are often linked to violations of Flickr’s policy, which prohibits commercial activities on free accounts and the uploading of content deemed moderate or restricted.

Rather than upgrading to a paid Pro account, many affected users opt to start over on alternative platforms. These alternatives may initially be free, but like Flickr, they often introduce fees after reaching certain usage thresholds. Thus, migrating does not fully escape the issues related to costs.

Enchanted Dreams

Enchanted Dreams

Hello from Spakle Enchanted! A visit to Sparkle’s region feels like stepping directly into her dream, bathed in shades of enchanting purple—her favorite color. Today, I’m embracing her inspiration by adding purple touches to my outfit.

Despite common beliefs, my preferred color isn’t pink, but rather white. I often opt for white because it complements everything, allowing for colorful accents. The Boho Lace Dress from Fashionably Dress in White is perfect as it includes three additional shades of beige, offering versatility; sometimes, pure white is too stark, and a softened eggshell hue feels more natural.

The fabric of this dress, along with its high yet tasteful side split, is definitely my style. If you follow Second Life updates, you may know the upcoming Child Avatar policy for avatars that appear under 18—this doesn’t relate to the user’s actual age, but the avatar’s appearance. Under these new rules, you couldn’t wear something as revealing as this dress. The “modesty layer” is imminent! [See more on this on Inara Pey’s blog]

Magic Shop

Magic Shop

I’m currently embracing my Victorian era aesthetic. The Rejoice dress by Toksik is absolutely stunning! I’m on the lookout for more intricate outfits in Second Life that offer built-in layers and customizable options, as casual wear has become quite mundane. My avatar resides in the Victorian town of Aurelias, and to blend in, I chose a color palette of navy, black, and a touch of baby blue for my outfit. I opted for the fatpack of this outfit, so expect to see me in various shades of pastels and whites in the future.

I was genuinely upset when Toksik closed their Flickr account. I have a preference for following all my favorite brands on a single platform, and Flickr is it. I’m reluctant to follow brands on other social platforms like Facebook, Tumblr, or Instagram as they don’t serve my purpose for brand engagement or building a shopping list. Flickr is crucial for connecting with brands, especially for someone like me who blogs about their outfits, promoting them in the process. It would be beneficial for Toksik to consider returning to Flickr, as numerous brands that have left tend to return upon realizing the adverse impact on their customer base. Flickr maintains a robust presence within the Second Life community, notably among bloggers and photographers who help drive sales.

Drug Town, RSCM38

Drug Town, RSCM38

I recently visited RSCM38, a unique region in Second Life known for its moody atmosphere of crime and poppy fields. I found myself mesmerized by the poppy field and even spotted some mysterious figures lurking in the hills. The area is beautifully crafted, featuring vibrant, colorful streets and plenty of places to grab a bite. You can wander around this place for days, and it makes a fantastic setting for photo shoots.

The vibe here really reminds me of Cuba, from the colorful buildings and vintage cars to the scenic beaches. It’s a spectacular spot that’s definitely worth a visit!

Stroll through the woods

Stroll through the woods

Hello from Aurelias woods! I wore a super cute outfit for my walk here, which is the Punk Doll Set from Red Blossom. You can buy the dress or the shoes separately. This outfit is really adorable and comes with a HUD packed with lots of customization features.

Does anyone else use a PBR-enabled viewer for blogging? The lighting is way too dark, and I’m not a fan. I use a PBR viewer only occasionally, to get used to it in case it becomes mandatory. I’m not liking the intense colors, and other lighting issues don’t seem to be fixable with the EEP sliders. Plus, the water is just too bright. It feels like my complaints are ignored by Second Life, as they haven’t fixed these issues.

I’m currently trying the Alchemy viewer. There are several things I appreciate about the Alchemy viewer, like the poser, and it shares many features with Firestorm. It also offers a Lightbox with tonemapping adjustments. If you liked the BlackDragon viewer before, you might enjoy Alchemy since it doesn’t have that annoying intro music, and the controls are similar to SL/Firestorm. Unlike with BlackDragon, I don’t have to mess with key bindings for movement, which was always a hassle. The Alchemy viewer also comes with a built-in AO tab just like Firestorm. Give this viewer a shot; it seems promising.

Amara Beauty, Elara Skin

Amara Beauty

For about a year, I was a big fan of Amara Beauty Skins, buying almost every new release. I especially liked tone 25! Then, they switched to a Velour tones, and I didn’t enjoy the skins as much anymore. Additionally, the heavy shading on the nose didn’t look right, and I stopped buying Amara skins since mid-last year. I had almost given up on them until I came across the Elara skin from Amara Beauty at Uber (also see the shopping guide on Seraphim). Although the ad was enhanced by AI and looked stunning (see ad), I was curious to know how it would actually look in Second Life.

Amara Beauty

When I wear any skin in Second Life, I usually don’t wear the brows included because they’re usually too thick for my taste. I wore the no-brows version of the Elara skin and added LeLutka’s HD brows that comes with the mesh head. I found that it closely resembled the advertisement and looked lovely on me. I liked it so much that I adjusted my avatar’s shape slightly and added some extra touches with Izzie’s highlights to enhance the look.

Weekend Vibes

Weekend Vibes

Step into a charming little world within Second Life, where every accessory whispers a story of cuteness. The Anthology event is back, offering a collection of delightful items for you to discover. I’m holding the enchanting Explorer Cat Backpack by Aardvark, featuring an animated kitten that brings the backpack to life. Customize it with the included HUD that lets you pick different cats and accessories, and color the backpack to your liking.

Also awaiting you is the Ducklin’ Toseds cup from Comatosed, inspired by a popular real-world brand, complete with little fish that swim around inside. You can change the cup’s color and the type of fish swimming in it, all thanks to a customizable HUD.

Discover NeutralTones, a brand new to me, with their Special Friend Tshirt. It looks deceptively simple, but the detail is spot-on, from the realistic folds to the HUD that allows you to choose between two cute friends and a variety of shirt colors.

Laundry Day

Laundry Day

Sunday has rolled around again, which means it’s time for chores like laundry. In Second Life, I don’t often choose lingerie, but when I do, I prefer Bakes on Mesh for easy layering. They’re great for layering under other clothes to keep my look tasteful.

I’ve also made a point of wearing actual underwear lately, instead of just turning on the alpha on my pelvis.

Recently, I picked up a charming Nyla bra and panties set from Ison, and guess what? It’s a group gift, and joining the Ison group is free! When I first wore this set, I noticed the nipple area was quite prominent. But no worries — I just used the Bakes on Mesh add-ons from Maitreya and everything looked much smoother.

BoM Add-ons

It’s pretty interesting in Second Life how some clothes really go into detail in certain areas, if you get what I mean! Thankfully, some thoughtful designers offer solutions to soften those details.

Friday

Friday

Happy Friday, everyone in Second Life! I’m excited about this new set of poses I found. The Erin pose & anim pack from Goyo comes with cute headphones, perfect for enjoying music or snapping fun photos. What I appreciate most is that each pose has an animation, plus a flipped version. However, I did notice my fingers were not positioned perfectly in some poses, which made me tweak them using the poser in the Black Dragon viewer. It’s not my usual viewer, but it’s pretty useful for these adjustments.

Ever put on a skin and felt like it could use a bit more shine? I found this Highlighter set by Izzie’s that offers lots of options to add a nice glow to your skin. The skin that I’m wearing, Emery from Glam Affair, already looked good, but I couldn’t resist adding a bit more highlight to areas like the eyes, forehead, and the area just above the lip.
