The new Feoui skin from Glam Affair Skin is one of the cleanest skin I’ve ever seen from the brand, it comes without heavy shading on the face (especially Glam’s signature one side of the nose is more shaded than the other side). I’m not a fan of that, but I get why some skin designers are doing it to give the face more depth or simulate shadows, but it’s so awkward in normal lighting. When I tried on this Feoui skin, I was pleasantly surprised it’s so clean! I still ended up adding a bunch of BoM layers to the face to remove blush, change eyelids, and and few touches to make it more Gogo.

On August 1st, I launched Gather & Nest, your guide to Linden Homes & Land in Second Life. This is a blog and community site, be sure to follow us on Discord and X (formerly Twitter) Community for all the latest news.
Here are some interesting news around the grid you may have missed:
- Maitreya Lara X coming soon! Free upgrades for current users.
- Second Life launched the Senra Beta Avatars. Brands can apply for the Senra kit.
- The Linden Homes Ranch theme has 6 more models added to the mailbox.
- Doux (David Cooper) is back and releasing hair at SmokeFest. He was away from Second Life for a few months due to illness.
Senra is here! When I showed you the NUX Senra Avatars on me two weeks ago, I did not edit the shape or wore anything in my inventory (because I had none on the beta grid).
Second Life announced the Senra Beta Avatars are now available to everyone via the library and a starter avatar web page with options for new users. After playing around with the shape and trying on two old system skins that I didn’t delete from my inventory, I decided to just wear the included Senra Jamie skin. Don’t even try to retrofit old skins or clothing, it’ll leave you feeling deep sadness.
Continue readingAre you into hyper-realistic skins in Second Life? I normally wear smooth skins without imperfections, but then I visited Voguel and found a new skin that’s just adorable, even with pores and freckles! The imperfections really adds character, and it’s not too much, it’s still very soft and pretty. I’m wearing the Voguel Mia skin in Chantilly 2 skin tone. This tone matches well with a Pink Fuel body skin, or you can wear Velour (but I have not found a Velour skin tone that I like yet).
Continue readingMeet Jamie, one of two Senra avatars coming soon to Second Life. These are the New User Experience (NUX) avatars created by Second Life for new residents. They come with a mesh body, mesh head, skins, eyes, hair, shoes, clothing, and a basic animation override.
The Senra avatars (Jamie and Blake) briefly appeared in the Library on the main grid and are now gone again. I recalled that the beta grid lags behind the main grid, so I logged on there in search of Jamie, and I found her in the Library. I had an authentic new user experience because my inventory was empty, so I had to make do with Library items.

‘Second Life’ Turns 20, and It’s Still the Metaverse We Always Dreamed Of
Continue readingIt has been a rollercoaster of emotions since Patch Linden announced the availability of SecondLifetime Premium! You can read all of the details here. It’s not cheap, whether you get a regular Premium account or a Plus account, so I’m not sure why Linden Lab felt it necessary to limit it to only 20 (Plus) accounts and 200 (Premium) accounts.
SecondLifetime Premium Plus sold out very quickly, even though the announcement occurred during working hours for most residents in North America, and during sleeping hours for residents in Europe, Asia, Australia, etc. Almost everyone had no chance at getting Plus, except for the people that were live-watching Lab Gab and fast. My friend Sparkle scored one of twenty coveted lifetimes… so congratulations to everyone that got one! We’re all in the same boat now, waiting to see if Second Life will still be here in 7 years.

The newly released Ranch Linden Home theme feature 2048 sqm. of land and 703 land impact. These homes are available for Premium Plus members only.
As a Linden Homes addict enthusiast, I always love when a new theme is released! I love exploring new regions and checking out the different home styles. Last year, I was lucky enough to win a charity auction, allowing me to name a Linden Home region and pick the location of my home – an incredible bonus! I’m deeply grateful to Izzy Linden for assisting me with this, and I’d definitely participate in another Linden Homes auction in the future.
Way back in the day, when the platform was new and some of you reading this weren’t born yet, Second Life residents could purchase a Lifetime account for $159.95 (later raised to $225) that offered them 4096 sqm of free land tier along with a generous L$500 weekly stipend.
Ever since I became a Premium member in 2019 to get a Linden Home, I’ve been asking Second Life to bring back Lifetime accounts. Well, it looks like my pleas have finally been heard because Patch Linden referred to it during the SL20B Opening Ceremony! We don’t have all of the details yet, but based on Patch’s speech and the SL20B Global Sweepstakes Grand Prize being a SecondLifetime Premium Subscription, this is a clear signal that Second Life is bringing back an updated version of the Lifetime account and calling it SecondLifetime Premium.
Here’s the live stream where Patch refers to Lifetime accounts:
Continue reading“…with our premium perks, we need to bottle Second Life sunshine and sell it as an anti-aging serum… hmm… lifetime… lifetime… premium… lifetime… those words just seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly. I think I’m having an idea, perhaps something to discuss further at my Lab Gab session with Strawberry Linden, starting Monday, June 26th at 1:30 p.m. SLT.”
