    Afternoon Stroll

    https://www.flickr.com/photos/gogolita/53857445246/in/datetaken/

Hello from Aurelias! I’m still living out my Bridgerton dreams in Second Life. This particular look is so stunning that I’ve saved it as my default outfit. This way, I can effortlessly switch from my everyday casual look to this elegant Victorian attire with just a click.

Over the weekend, I attempted to do some shopping but came up empty-handed. My current fashion mood is all about Victorian elegance, and nothing I found quite matched that vibe.

Curiously, I decided to give the Second Life mobile app another try. The app is now available to Premium and Premium Plus members. While it’s handy for logging in and chatting with friends, I found that navigating and performing any actions within Second Life remains a significant challenge. Movement is clunky, and rendering continues to be a nightmare. It’s clear that developers are making strides, but I can’t help but wonder how long this app will linger in beta.

The mobile app, in its current state, is unlikely to attract new users. New residents would find themselves better off downloading the viewer and logging in that way. The app’s limitations also mean it doesn’t quite hit the mark for existing residents either. Access to inventory and the ability to change outfits are crucial features that are sorely missed.

So, while it’s a step in an exciting direction, the Second Life mobile app still has a long journey ahead before it becomes a viable option for both new and seasoned residents.

    Magic Shop

    Magic Shop

I’m currently embracing my Victorian era aesthetic. The Rejoice dress by Toksik is absolutely stunning! I’m on the lookout for more intricate outfits in Second Life that offer built-in layers and customizable options, as casual wear has become quite mundane. My avatar resides in the Victorian town of Aurelias, and to blend in, I chose a color palette of navy, black, and a touch of baby blue for my outfit. I opted for the fatpack of this outfit, so expect to see me in various shades of pastels and whites in the future.

I was genuinely upset when Toksik closed their Flickr account. I have a preference for following all my favorite brands on a single platform, and Flickr is it. I’m reluctant to follow brands on other social platforms like Facebook, Tumblr, or Instagram as they don’t serve my purpose for brand engagement or building a shopping list. Flickr is crucial for connecting with brands, especially for someone like me who blogs about their outfits, promoting them in the process. It would be beneficial for Toksik to consider returning to Flickr, as numerous brands that have left tend to return upon realizing the adverse impact on their customer base. Flickr maintains a robust presence within the Second Life community, notably among bloggers and photographers who help drive sales.

    Stroll through the woods

    Stroll through the woods

Hello from Aurelias woods! I wore a super cute outfit for my walk here, which is the Punk Doll Set from Red Blossom. You can buy the dress or the shoes separately. This outfit is really adorable and comes with a HUD packed with lots of customization features.

Does anyone else use a PBR-enabled viewer for blogging? The lighting is way too dark, and I’m not a fan. I use a PBR viewer only occasionally, to get used to it in case it becomes mandatory. I’m not liking the intense colors, and other lighting issues don’t seem to be fixable with the EEP sliders. Plus, the water is just too bright. It feels like my complaints are ignored by Second Life, as they haven’t fixed these issues.

I’m currently trying the Alchemy viewer. There are several things I appreciate about the Alchemy viewer, like the poser, and it shares many features with Firestorm. It also offers a Lightbox with tonemapping adjustments. If you liked the BlackDragon viewer before, you might enjoy Alchemy since it doesn’t have that annoying intro music, and the controls are similar to SL/Firestorm. Unlike with BlackDragon, I don’t have to mess with key bindings for movement, which was always a hassle. The Alchemy viewer also comes with a built-in AO tab just like Firestorm. Give this viewer a shot; it seems promising.

Hello from Scrooge’s office on Aurelias, formerly Scrooge and Marley, but as you know, Marley died. As the cold weather sets in, I’m on the lookout for the perfect pair of pants to keep me warm in Second Life. It’s quite a challenge to find realistic pants rather than just leggings, but I stumbled upon the fantastic Blair set from Ricielli. This set not only includes cozy pants but also a stylish crop top, and the best part is that it’s available in LaraX!

    Aurelias Fables & Fairytales
    Aurelias-Sparkle Skye Bridge

Welcome to Aurelias! Sparkle and I are thrilled to introduce you to our enchanting town that we’re so excited to bring back. Instead of recreating our original town that we love so much, we have chosen to embark on a new adventure with a darker twist – welcome to Aurelias Fables & Fairytales.

Imagine a town filled with Victorian charm, where surprises await you at every corner. Aurelias has been transformed into a place where time moves slower, eagerly awaiting your exploration. As you meander through the forest, prepare to encounter an unexpected graveyard. It is a place that is both eerie and enchanting, where the wind carries ancient tales.

If you enjoy serene landscapes and nature, make sure to visit the swamplands of Aurelias. It will take you through lush and mysterious swamps, promising an amazing view with unpredictable weather – so bring an umbrella!

    Market Days

    Market Days

I went to the Arcade to specifically play for the Movement Grab and Go set. I needed everything here cos I love holdables/wearables and anything that’s juicy (aka fruits). Do you think we should build a convenience store on Aurelias? Let me know in the comments if you think a store would be cute and we’ll make it happen!

    Evermore House

    Evermore House

Good morning from Evermore House on Aurelias! Why haven’t I ever been to this house before? It’s so eerie and beautiful, and sits all by itself on this deserted corner of the island. When I asked Sparkle about the reason the previous owners moved out of the house, she said that she had no idea either. I promise that as soon as I learn the real story behind what took place at Evermore House, I will post an update!

You're cordially invited to the Evermores— forever more.

You’re cordially invited to the Evemores— forever more.
The Evermore House was once home to the most notable family on Aurelias. The first Evermores arrived in the 17th century and established themselves on the island. John Evermore, his wife, and their daughter are the last known members of the Evermore family to have lived there. The house has been deserted for a very long time, and it now sits all by itself, patiently awaiting its next guests.
